Unfortunately, sometimes we can’t avoid certain family members at social events. Especially with the holiday season approaching. Luckily, there are ways to protect yourself and your energy when they try to bring you down. Here’s a few things I do to protect myself. All of these are discreet and don’t scream to your family that you’re a witch.
Wear enchanted jewelry 💍
What you need
- your favorite piece of jewelry or something you wear daily
- whatever you like to use to cleanse
- a quiet space
What to do
1. Cleanse the piece(s) of jewelry you would like to enchant.
2. Take as much time as you need to meditate with your jewelry and set your intentions to protect.
3. When you feel ready wear your jewelry!
4. After the social event remember to cleanse your jewelry again to remove any negative energy it may have picked up!
5. Optional: Rub the jewelry in essential oil correlating to your intentions. For protection I recommend Lavender, Peppermint or Orange.
Protection Satchel 💫
What you need
- a satchel or pouch deep enough to hold everything
- rosemary, peppermint and lavender (however much you want to use of each)
- amethyst
- piece of paper
What to do
1. Take a moment to hold the pouch, concentrate and think of your intentions. You may also do this with each ingredient if you so choose.
2. Keeping your intentions in mind, add rosemary, lavender, peppermint, and your amethyst to the pouch. As you add each ingredient, repeat the phrase “I am protected from all harm that comes my way.”
3. Once ingredients are all added, take the piece of paper and write either an affirmation or a sigil for protection. Fold this piece of paper as many times as you feel needed. Hold this piece of paper for a second and think of your intentions once more. Then drop it in the pouch.
4. Finally, once the pouch is made, place this somewhere you can keep close throughout the day i.e. a purse, a bag or your pocket.
Wear a Sigil ✨
Wearing a sigil doesn’t need to be obvious. This is something you can wear while keeping it discreet. There are a few different ways to wear one. You can draw one somewhere on your body using marker, or draw one inside your wrist using a perfume roller, or even with your daily moisturizer. The most important thing is ensuring you charge it before wiping it away. You may also opt for just using a piece of paper and keeping it in your pocket.

Research is the most important thing to do before heading into Faery work and witchcraft. You want to have a lot of in depth and versatile knowledge covering many areas of the topic so you’ll be able to understand and interact with the Fair Folk! If you don’t want to work with the Fair Folk you can use this list to help yourself understand them and take the proper measure if you ever stumble upon them. I know the list could go on forever but I’m compiling the topics I find build a good foundation of understanding. I have compiled this list to give those interested guidance and a push in the right direction, it is best you do your own research before asking other’s personal knowledge and opinions!!
