Kakashi’s Sharingan

Kakashi’s Sharingan

So for some reason most of the fandom seems to think Kakashi was stronger with the Sharingan, and yeah, without it there’s no more Kamui or Chidori, but I still feel like not having a constant chakra drain would be vastly superior to those two techniques. Like, it always seemed to me that the Sharingan kind of crippled him, with it he had to constantly be careful of his stamina and chakra reserves, which are the two most important parts of being a shinobi. I feel it was made pretty clear that the main reason Naruto was able to do most of his most impressive feats was because he could throw around chakra like nothing else and just, never got tired really. I always imagined Kakashi having to hold back in fights because he never knew when he’d run out of chakra. That would have limited his ability to practice too, because he had to be careful to not overdo it all the time, which would be a lot shorter of a period for him than other people. Even in taijutsu, pretty much everyone uses chakra to enhance their speed and strength, not to the degree of Sakura and Tsunade, but they all still did it. Kakashi always seemed to be fainting from chakra exhaustion, just, imagine if Kakashi had, instead of adjusting to the Sharingan for the past 16 years, spent that time improving himself overall. The kid was a genius and had started to figure out how to add nature change to the rasengan when he was 10, what would he have been able to do if he could rely on his chakra reserves. I just picture Kakashi being seriously stronger after the fourth war without a Sharingan crippling him anymore.

DC Comics - a thought

There’s a tendency in fanfiction that I’ve noticed to kind of de power Superman and Wonder Woman in favor of making Batman and the Batfamily look better. Part of this is probably because of the overwhelming amount of stories centered on Batfamily dynamics and that when writing shock and awe fics people want familiar characters to be their outsider pov, but it just doesn’t work right with Superman and Wonder Woman.

Another part of this is probably because of how the characters get presented in the comics, unfortunately both Superman and Wonder Woman have had to deal with a lot of flip flopping with their powers because the characters were made too powerful and the turn back to try and make them less overpowered has backlashed into making them too weak at times depending on the story. Not to mention how since Batman is part of the trinity that is the face of DC they want to make him equal to the other two within the canon, and it just doesn’t work. I don’t care how smart he is, Batman just cannot handle the problems Superman and Wonder Woman face, he’s only human.

I don’t know, it’s just a common occurrence for a popular character to try and have their real world popularity reflected in the comics, even when it doesn’t work, Batman and Spider-Man have that problem, the latter significantly more so than the former since Batman actually does play a pretty important role to the Justice League, just not quite to the point as he is represented, I think.

Star Wars Fic Idea

I think it would be interesting if a post-ROTJ version of Luke and Leia met a version of themselves from a world where Anakin never Fell and they were raised by their birth parents. How that world turned out that way could be do any number of reasons. (Though I do hate the version where all it took to save the day was getting rid of Palpatine, there was a lot more going wrong with the Galaxy besides him) I just think it would be interesting to explore their similarities and differences. I imagine Leia would be as much of a daddy’s girl for Anakin as she was for Bail, which I imagine would be incredibly confusing for OG Leia. Not to mention the different relationship between the twins who actually grew up together compared to the ones who had no idea they were related until they were adults. Twins tend to be close in a way others aren’t, and Luke and Leia spent a lot of time as just friends. Not to mention I bet force sensitive twins would be even closer than usual.

I don’t know, just a thought.

Story Idea

So the Lucifer in Supernatural is just the worst, and so is their Michael, what with the whole trying to possess Sam and Dean and start the apocalypse and what not. But I’ve recently been inspired by this great crossover between Supernatural, Good Omens and Lucifer (TV) where that’s not always the case. Lucifer isn’t actually the epitome of all evil in every interpretation of the Bible anyway, I mean Satan and Lucifer weren’t even always the same person, and besides that, Satan as a term was originally, like, a title for Heaven’s prosecutor or something, back before the Christian concept of Hell was a thing. I’m getting off tract.

Anyway, I was thinking of a world (specifically like an AU of Good Omens because I love those characters) where Lucifer isn’t evil, he’s a prosecutor, and judge and jury of hell, which has more in common with the Underworld than it does with fire and brimstone worst place on Earth just because I don’t want him miserable. Anyway, he’s happily married to his Queen, Lilith, totally devoted and monogamous and has been for millennia. Meanwhile Michael is just kind of living it up on Earth, going around drinking, picking fights, flirting with people and eating pie. Sometimes he drags other angels with him because he thinks they need to chill out more, his favorite victim is a little guy named Castiel. Lucifer and Michael get along with their siblings no problem, they especially like each other a good deal, though they can get on each other’s nerves sometimes. Lucifer often considers Michael a jerk while Michael will say Lucifer can be a bitch.

Get where I’m going with this? I just keep picturing Sam and Dean in their bunker staring at these two alternate versions of beings who’ve given them so much trouble, and it’s just them. I think it’s a fun idea, especially if you threw in Crowley and Aziraphale, like they’re just there being themselves.

One Piece Headcannon

We know Shanks was a baby celestial dragon left behind when Garp and Roger fought the Rocks pirates (making him being from the West Blue a lie) but all we know about Buggy is that he is from the Grand Line and was probably brought on at about the same age as Shanks. Pretty sure the implication is that they were both babies but that leaves several months difference not accounting for them being slightly different ages in general. So here’s my thought, I think there has to have been a reason Roger thought his ship was the only place a couple babies could go instead of somewhere safer. We know Shanks background so that one’s obvious, but what about Buggy. I think Buggy is from an island in the Grand Line where everyone has red noses like him but something happened and he ended up alone.

One idea I have is that his island was made up of entertainers that the celestial dragons liked to take as personal slaves but something caused them to revolt which lead to a Buster Call. Baby Buggy was hidden away and managed to survive until Roger found him. I just think there’s an interesting dynamic to have Shanks biological family be the reason Buggy lost his.

Percy Jackson Headcannon

The strength a the demigod is dependent on the strength of the relationship between their parents, the more a god cares for their mortal lover the more favored their child is. That’s why Percy is so OP, Poseidon adored Sally.

My One Change to Star Trek (2009)

There are a good few flaws to this movie but if I were to make one change and leave it mostly alone, it would be the time skip after Kirk gets on the shuttle to Starfleet Academy, right after he meets Bones. Instead of jumping ahead to his final year as a cadet I would have it be more like 7 years, and introduce him as a new transfer to the Enterprise as a Lieutenant or Lieutenant Commander.

You can still have him get off on the wrong foot with Spock because of the Kobayashi Maru, but it can be because Spock doesn’t approve of him getting a commendation for what he considered to have been “cheating” and then they just rub each other the wrong way to start. The rest of the gang are all already posted as lower ranked members. I think you could have a fun scene of Kirk reuniting with Bones and Uhura (with very different reactions going on there).

You can still have Kirk overhearing Uhura about the communication because he’s with her roommate, it’s just that the room is a ship cabin instead of a dorm. Basically, instead of the Academy stuff you just have Kirk getting adjusted to the Enterprise. Maybe have Commander Una be injured or on leave or something so Spock is the Acting First Officer at the time.

Then the distress call from Vulcan comes in and the ship get assigned to check it out. Everything else from the time they’re out of warp could pretty much be the same but it would make more sense for Pike to name Kirk as Spock’s Acting First Officer when he goes over and for the gang to be taking over for their commanding officers when they’re injured during the attack from Nero. It just would make so much more sense for already instated officers to take on the roles they do then not even graduated cadets.

(I know this thing is, like, 15 years old now but I was rewatching Beyond and it made me think)

Spider-Man

You know that one McDonalds triangle meme that’s weirdly popular and tends to show up at least once in every fandom? I saw an MCU one once and was unreasonable enraged by Spidey being put with the McDonalds! McDonalds! McDonalds! corner. Spidey would, depending on just how annoying the kids are, without a doubt be the guy who’d drive up to the window, order a single black coffee and leave.

Code Geass Problem

There are a lot of things wrong with the alternate history in the Code Geass world, it’s like the authors just threw together a few key points in history they thought were interesting and said they went differently without any real follow through. For one, Britannia apparently exists because the Roman Empire never managed to permanently conquer the British isles, or something. That’s a huge fricken deal, it would have caused everything in the Western Hemisphere to go differently but somehow most of the world apparently progressed a lot like the real world. Napoleon as the first president of the EU or whatever really doesn’t make any sense considering who the man actually was and his beliefs but whatever, not to mention Washington’s Rebellion. How did the thirteen colonies even form when all the empires that took over the Americas are fundamentally different? The BS about Benjamin Franklin always manages to make me incredibly angry, of all the founding fathers they could have chosen to be the traitor they managed to pick one of the least likely candidates. Whatever, I’m not going into all the many problems, but the one thing that really bothers me for reasons I don’t really get, why does pre-invasion Tokyo look like the Tokyo of today? That city only exists as is because the original one was burnt down by the American bombing in WWII and then rebuilt, there’s no reasons for it to look like that when it took a very precise series of events to make it, events that didn’t happen in the Code Geass universe. Nothing is more irritating than ill thought out worldbuilding, especially in products I actually like.

Spider-Man AU idea

Peter Parker, Mary Jane Watson and Johnny Storm should all be in one relationship together because that would be amazing and they’d all make each other really happy.

Also I can’t decide between PeterMJ and SpideyTorch so they should just all just be together, that way no one gets left out.

I Hated Homecoming

I am so tired of a teenage Peter Parker in all my non-comic book media. Peter graduated high school in, like, issue 34 of the comic book, in the mid-60’s when Steve Ditko was still drawing the guy. He’s been an adult of some kind for almost the entirety of his 50+ run. I get that adaptions aren’t meant to be exact replicas and they’re supposed to bring something new, but the things is, they really aren’t. All the movies just keep treading the same ground, Spider-Man is so much more than a high school student. And on that note, I know Stan Lee said in some interview somewhere that Peter Parker is meant to be a so called “everyman” but I’m pretty sure that just means he has to deal with real world problems, not that he’s a generic audience stand in. Even if that is what he mean, it isn’t what Peter is, not anymore. Peter Parker has had fifty years of writing to establish a distinct and definitive personality, none of which was seen in Homecoming. I don’t know what character Tom Holland was given to play but it wasn’t Peter Parker, that’s for sure. Honestly, the whole “he’s just a good kid” vibe he had makes it seem like he was playing Miles Morales more than Peter Parker, the science magnet school and Ned/Ganke Thing certainly don’t help with that. Why did Marvel feel the need to rip off the character that hasn’t even been around for one decade instead of using stories from the character that’s been around for five. Not to mention Tony Stark. For one thing, I don’t really like that character in the first place and secondly, why did he need to shoehorned in as some kind of stupid father figure that Peter doesn’t need? He isn’t even good at that and inserting him into what is meant to be a homage to one of the most iconic scenes in comic books gives me no end of frustration. I have never been satisfied with any of the cinematic adaptions for Spider-Man and the fact that the current one is just Marvel pandering to a false fandom created version of Spider-Man is infuriating. I blame the Raimi films, they were the mainstream audience’s introduction to this character and it wasn’t a good one. Tobey Maguire’s nibbish version of Peter Parker was cemented into the minds of the general public and I hate it. Now I’ll admit, I have a very particular view on what Peter Parker is meant to be like and I struggle with being flexible in my opinions, but I just wish my favorite character didn’t have so many problems with false public images.
