One Stormy Night…

I’ve never posted my stories except for a few discord servers. I really hope this does well! Some things might be spelled wrong, and others might be missing overall. Please let me know if you see any of this. I also hope you enjoy this if you read it!

Thunder boomed and lightning crashed. It was a rainy night in Dreamland, but everybody was sleeping soundly through the rough night.

BOOM!! Lightning slammed closely next to Kirby's house, waking the hero up in a cold sweat.

Kirby never liked lightning, it always made him gloomy and a bit scared. The lightning was loud enough to make Kirby flinch every time, and become even more scared.

With lightning crashing down, Kirby merged with the copy ability, transforming into wheel Kirby. He transformed into a hot pink wheel and rolled off to Castle Dedede. Kirby didn't want to sleep alone during a storm this scary, so he was gonna sleep at castle Dedede with Bandana Waddle Dee.

CRASH!! "AH!!" Lightning threw Kirby off and losing his balance, he transformed out of his wheel form to take a terrible tumble. Kirby lifted his head from the soggy grass he tumbled into, gazing in fear at the dancing lightning ahead of him. Kirby tensed up. He didn't want to go through lightning to get to Castle Dedede..but it was the fastest way...he was gonna have to take a shortcut! Kirby transformed back into his wheel form and sped through Whispy Woods, dodging the lightning blocking his path.

Lightning was crashing everywhere, around the forest, but at least there was only a couple drops of rain. Kirby transformed out of his wheel form. If he went too fast, he was bound to get lost or just go in circles all night. While walking through the woods, reality hit him like a semi-truck. Where was he going?? He should've thought this through..if they were going to go through the woods, they'd have to know their way out.

Kirby could probably go off to find Whispy and get directions- "EEK!!"

"Oh…?" Kirby looked around. Who was that?

"Whispy Woods is doomed..doomed...!! I-I gotta find somebody!"

Flying quickly above Kirby's head was Bronto Burt! But what was he panicking for? Before Kirby was able to ask, Bronto Burt was gone!

"Hmm…" Kirby kept on walking ahead, and upon doing that heard more noises of distress. The little inhabitants and small beings in the forest started running out of the forest too! Kirby had to find out what was wrong now. Why were they run- "Eeek!! Fireee!!!" A little Chip squealed out, hopping away. A fire!? Kirby began to run towards the source, but stopped when he saw Birdon fly by. If Kirby could use his wing ability, he could probably put out the fire!

"Birdy!!"

"C-caw!?" Birdon squawked. "Kirby- what are you doing here…!?" "Need!" Kirby yelled out to Birdon. "Wha..??" Kirby clasped his hands close to his heart, and opened his arms to reveal a small (controlled) black hole. It began to pull Birdon in. "K-Kirby!? What are you doing- I-I gonna go!! Stop! STOPP!!" Birdon turned around, and in self defence, performed a Boomer Heading! "Poyooo!!" Kirby squealed, slamming hard into the damp grass, and getting cut by stuck out branches. He lost his ability, and was in too much pain to stand. What could he do now..?

"G-Great King! Great Kiiiiiiingg!!!" Yelled an anxious little Dee nearly falling over, Bandana Dee burst into King Dedede’s room.

“Great King! I-it’s an emergency!!” The groggy king rose from under his covers and looked at Bandana Dee, he was a bit cranky being woken up like this at such a late time. “What d‘ya wantt..it’s late y..” The king let out a large yawn. “Y’know,.this better be important..!” “Y-yes Great King, it is! Whispy Woods caught on fire from the storm! I-it’s a huge fire!!”

“Mmgrmm..whassat gotta do with me..? Call Whispy..” The king grumbled.

“We can’t Great King! Whispy might be in the fire too!” Panicked Bandana Waddle Dee.

“So whatt..!?”

“Great King, people can get hurt!!” King Dedede blinked, processing what Bandana Dee just said. Even though he was super tired, the words stuck to him and the gears turned. "Hurt..??" The king mumbled.

"Y-yes Great King!"

"FIRE!?" He was finally catching on. "Why ain't ‘ya say so sooner!?" The king scrambled out of bed. "Get the Fire-Dees! Get out there!!" He demanded. "Y-yes Great King!!” Bandana Dee ran off to alert the other Dees.

CRASH!! Kirby laid weakly upon the wet grass and mud. He was so cold, and so scared. Kirby curled up, shivering from the cold drops of water lightly punting him. CRASH!!!! Somebody stood before Kirby. He brightened up just a little bit. Surely if somebody saw him on the floor like this, they'd help him! Kirby looked up all to see a not-so-happy-nor-helpful-face. It was the god of the clouds themself, Kracko.

Maybe Kirby could get a helping hand? No…That's not what Kracko was there for...Kracko came for something way different. Kracko and Kirby have had some history with each other. Kirby always ran into Kracko at many points in time, either it was him, a mech, a hologram, frail little pieces of yarn, a painting, anything. Kracko was always a hurdle for Kirby to jump over, and it was always so embarrassing to think about. Losing to a mere BABY.

This time would be different however. All of the rage from losing again and again and again and again. Now, Kracko would finally win. And this win would be an achievement to celebrate forever, only ending when the sky is clear of clouds. Kirby started to loosen up the tension all over him. Maybe Kracko had a change of heart, and would take him to the castle. Kracko felt like he won the lottery. Kirby was so weak, cold, and easy to finish off now. Kracko could finally win.

"Does everyone have the sparkling stars?" Bandana Dee shouted. "Wanya!!" All of the Waddle Dees replied. "Do we also have water?" Bandana Dee asked. "Wa!!" Replied all of the Dees. "Spray the water!!”

“You seven, get closer!" The seven Dees Bandana Dee pointed out got closer to the fire, spraying it with their hose. “N-no- you all need to go in the forest…” The dees looked at each other, and two scooted away. “Wanya…” “Wa…” Those two were scared. Bandana Dee sighed. “Alright, you two can go back to the castle and get two more sparkling stars. You five, get deeper into the forest! You need to find the root of the fire and cool it down.” The two dees nodded, and the other five ran in with the hose, deeper into the forest.

Kracko looked left and right. Nobody would see him do it. Then Kracko’s face loosened up. He finally won. He finally did it! Victory was his..CRASH! And he was going to make sure it lasted long. Out of the lightning everywhere, Kracko got all of the electricity around him. Zaps and sparks formed around his raised arm, and created a blade of pure lightning.

Kirby, whose face was full or weak hope, turned to fear pretty quickly. Maybe they could talk it out…? CRASH! Kracko didn’t seem interested in talking it out. Kracko grabbed Kirby by his shirt, lifting him up. “A-ah…!” Kirby squeaked. He trembled, being held so high and so threateningly. If Kracko had a mouth, he’d have a big twisted smile smeared across his face.

“Down! P-put me- down!” Kirby struggled, squirming in Kracko’s grasp. He had to make it quick then.

With force and spite, Kracko threw Kirby into a nearby tree, making him fall unconscious. And disappearing in another CRASH! Kracko left Kirby cold and alone, in the mud.

"Wanya.." Whimpered a Waddle Dee.

"D-don't worry..! There's barely any fire left...!" Comforted another Dee.

"Wanya! W-we'll be done soon..! I see another fire!" Said another dee, walking closer to the fire and hosing it down. One Dee looked away from the fire, spotting a faint light near a tree. “Wanya…?” The Waddle Dee peeked from behind a tree, their face going from curiosity to fear, shock, and concern. “Wa..WANYA!!” The Waddle Dee jumped, calling for another Waddle Dee.

“Go check on them!”

“Huh..? Me?”

“Mhm! They’re calling for somebody. You can go! We’ll put out the rest of the fire.”

“O-okay..” The Dee waddled off to the other Waddles Dee. They were shaking somebody who was unconscious. The other Waddle Dee squinted until realizing that unconscious person..that’s.. “K-Kirby..!? Oh…ohhhh…wanyaa…c-cmon...! We gotta tell Leader Bandana!!” The Waddle Dee grabbed Kirby by the legs and dragged him a bit until the other Dee picked up Kirby from their upper body, and they sprint off.

“Leader Bandanaa!!” Called out a Waddle Dee. “Wawawa!!” Squealed another. Bandana Dee turned around. “Wanya-? W-wait- why aren’t you two at the fiiiii..K-KIRBY…!?” Bandana Dee nearly fell back. He finally realized the two Waddle Dees were holding an unconscious person, and that person just happend to be his bestest friend in the whole universe. He ran to the two Dees that had Kirby in their arms and analyzed him.

“S-scratches all over his face..he’s bleeding in his head..n-nova…he’s so cold too…w-why is his shirt so stretched ou-” Bandana Dee was cut off. “W-what should we do with him Leader Bandana..!?” The Waddle Dee asked hastily. “S-sorry..” Bandana Dee cleared his throat. “Take Kirby to the castle infirmary! I’ll get there when-”

Suddenly, the Waddle Dees erupted into cheers. The fire is put out, and the Dees that went deeper into the fire came out okay! Bandana Dee looked over to the celebrating, and back at Kirby, then to the two Dees holding him. The Waddle Dees who are holding Kirby had their eyes locked onto the celebration. "You two can go!" The two Waddle Dees looked at their leader, a bit confused. “Wa-?” “Huh?” Bandana Dee’s demeanor changed. “Well, you two did help out with the fire…you deserve to celebrate too!” Bandana Dee knew what it was like to help with a big cause, but get the bare minimum as a reward. He didn’t want a single Waddle Dee to feel like that.

Buuuuttt…it was also a big lie. Bandana Dee wanted some alone time with Kirby. Not for cuddles and snacks, (though that would be nice,) but for answers. Nobody could lay a finger on Kirby without getting told what’s what, so how could Kirby be so scratched up? Who could’ve done this to him? Bandana Dee didn’t want two innocent little waddlers to get the answer and be horrified about what could happen to them. Waddle Dees are timid little creatures!

Bandana Dee took Kirby from the two Waddle Dees and dismissed them, picking up an extra parasol from the ground and walking off to Mt Dedede. Thanks to all of the Megaton Punch Bandana Dee practiced, picking up Kirby was a breeze. After a while, Kirby and Bandana Dee arrived at the castle. Bandana couldn’t help taking a deep breath, finally being safe and sound in the castle.

Bandana gently laid Kirby down on the infirmary bed and got the supplies needed to treat Kirby’s wound. It’s not much, but he was found in the dirt. Dirt may have gotten in his scratches. Better safe than sorry! Bandana Dee grabbed some bandages and alcohol and little gauze pads to wipe off any dirt or blood, and bandaged deeper wounds. Bandana Dee changed out of his old gloves, and put on cleaner ones so she can wipe Kirby’s wounds. Bandana swept the blood and dirt off of Kirby, making them wince a little. “S-sorry…” Bandana whispered.

Bandana Dee continued to clean up the rest of the dirt in Kirby’s scratches despite his guilt clawing at him to stop, seeing them wincing in pain so much.

“Mmn…poyo…” Kirby mumbled, in a bit of a whine. He sat up. “Hm…?” Where was he? Kirby examined the area around themselves before spotting Bandana, a friend! His best friend. Kirby waved to Bandana happily, but his signature ‘Hiiii!’ didn’t come out. Only a sharp breath. There were often times where they couldn’t let out words, only a mutter or gasp, but this was the worst time! It took until Bandana grabbed the bandages to notice Kirby was awake. “Wa- oh! H-hi Kirby..!” Bandana Dee said, but his smile faded when Kirby wasn’t as cheery back. “What’s wrong..?” Bandana asked, only to get no answer. Kirby fiddled with his hands, trying not to cry out of frustration and pain from all of the cuts and scratches.

“Oh..” Bandana Dee said under his breath, realizing what was going on. Kirby felt even more overwhelmed. They’re concerning their friend, and it was making them feel so guilty… “Y-you don’t have to worry about speaking right now..I can ask you some yes or no questions!” Kirby looked at Bandana Dee in shock, which quickly turned into happiness. Bandana Dee completely understood! Kirby thought they’d have to answer every grueling question, slowly swelling up the lump in his throat..but he didn’t! Kirby lit up and nodded, eager to answer any questions sent their way.

Kirby’s happiness was contagious, causing Bandana Dee to smile and giggle with them. They began patching Kirby up while asking questions about what happened, and Kirby answered most of them with ease.

To clear up a bit of confusion, just in case

Kirby is autistic, and semi verbal. What they say will be spelled wrong intentionally to convey their words a bit better. (I can change that if it’s offensive in any way to others with autism.)

Sometimes Waddle Dees say ‘wanya’ intentionally and unintentionally. It’s in their culture, and some are just born like that.

Dedede has an accent just like the 4kids English dub.

Glass Joe!

Why wouldn’t Kirby like him? Joe is such a kind guy, and he shows Kirby the best cafes with the best strawberry shortcakes ever!! They love each other’s company, and they don’t really have a reason to dislike each other. Sure Joe is a little concerned about Kirby fighting these huge guys that can knock him down in one punch, but Kirby is pretty well off. There’s no need to worry

Von Kaiser!

He’s cool with Kirby. Not too swayed by his cuteness, but not too disgusted by his cartoony personality. Kaiser focuses a bit more on Kirby’s small height, unconfirmed age, and his species entirely. Sometimes Kirby would swing by his place to get training, tips, gift giving, or just hanging out! Kirby sees Kaiser as a bigger friend than the other way around.

Disco Kid!

Kirby’s like a little brother to him, AND a best friend too! Disco and Kirby stuck together like glue after their fight and throughout the minor circuit. If Kirby ever has a question or problem, Disco is the first person he’d call! Also, Disco is just a train ride away! They’d hang out together at dance clubs, or at Disco’s house. They never stop smiling when the other is around!

King Hippo!

Given how Hippo lives with Disco for a home, Hippo sees Kirby a lot and really enjoys his presence! Hippo would take Kirby out to fun lil farmers markets and outdoor cafes for funsies and for food! Maybe an eating competition here and there, but only if Disco has the money and/or space. They’re just best friends!

Piston Hondo!

Hondo will never EVER admit he was swayed by Kirby’s cuteness and charm. Hence why he distances himself from the little guy. The least Hondo did to assist Kirby is give him a little advice and Japanese treats for him after fights. Kirby kinda treats Hondo like Meta Knight, which is like Kirby giving Meta space when needed as he’s to as close as he would be now. (Kirby was transported after RTDL and they were all still trying to get accustomed to Meta Knight not wanting them dead.) Hondo and Kirby’s friendship is just…a casual thing.

Bear Hugger!

BEST friends! Bear Hugger is like another Doc to Kirby, but has less time to be with him. Bear is almost always checking on Kirby, and making sure he gets outside when he’s having bad days in or just to see the the Canadian animals in the area!

Great Tiger!

They’re like two peas in a pod! Tiger finds it easy to communicate with Kirby despite not speaking in a language he’s understood or learned. Great Tiger is also the only person who seems out of wack in a way Kirby can relate to. They’re great friends!

Don Flamenco!

Don really tries to make amends with Kirby, but he holds onto grudges like they’d run away if he lets go. He can’t bring himself to fully hate Kirby because he’s cute, he’s too kind, and Kirby brings little presents each time he swings by. Also Carmen LOVE Kirby’s presence, so he mustn’t hate him and make her sad. Kirby just sees Don as a friend though. He knows what it’s like for someone to resent him for just existing, so he tries to be casual and slightly distanced.

Aran Ryan!

Kirby really really tries to be friends with Aran but CANNOT trust him. Aran always acts like friends with Kirby for a few days, and then breaks his trust in some major way. Kirby’s just too gullible and constantly gets back to a little friendship, but then Aran breaks his trust again. Aran just finds Kirby’s inability to not have friends funny, constantly playing dirty little pranks on the oblivious little guy that just wants to be friends with him. It sort of disgusts Aran how friendly Kirby can be with everyone and how everyone always makes amends. He’s just a hater.

Soda Popinski!

Also best friends! Soda is like some super cool big guy to Kirby, and Kirby likes super cool big guys! Kinda like Dedede! Kirby was concerned for Soda after he started drinking like crazy and the scientists tried to distance Kirby from him. Soda likes Kirby! He’s ashamed to admit it, but picking up people that are smaller than him is super fun! And Kirby likes getting picked up, so it was like an immediate friendship.

Bald Bull!

Bald Bull and Kirby’s relationship is pretty average! Kirby kinda looks at Bull like an idol as his boxing match was what inspired him to box too! Bald Bull doesn’t really like being seen as an idol, but lets it slide because Kirby isn’t too overbearing or invasive. Kirby thinks Bull is super cool, but is scared seeing him in the ring.

Super Macho Man!

Can barely remember who Kirby is. He only started to paid attention to him after he lost, but even then he barely cared about Kirby. Kirby had tried to be friends with Macho, but Macho mainly cared about his hot babes and money. The WVBA pays him to show up to the stadiums and box. If it weren’t for that, Macho wouldn’t even care to be there.

Mr. Sandman!

Can’t get over the fact, and never will get over the fact that he’s lost to nothing but mere children in his career. However after the TD match, Sandman began to respect Kirby. He didn’t know his branded attack was the name of Kirby’s home. Being cool with Kirby is the least he could do for him. Kirby still gets a bit confused when Mr. Sandman talks about putting someone to sleep or his home. Overall, they’re cool!

Little Mac…

“Never heard Mac…name a lil…fa..mil..liar…”

Doc Louis!

Literally Kirby’s dad. Kirby is literally Doc’s child. Doc treats Kirby like how he’s treated Mac when he was still there, and Kirby is like the Little Mac that Doc has been missing. Doc has tried to do an eating competition with Kirby, and keeps losing. After every fight, (or just for fun,) Kirby and Doc go out and eat a bunch of chocolate flavored pastries until they’re (Doc) full.

Carmen!

“Mi niña, mi hija! (My girl, my daughter!)” Despite others telling Carmen Kirby is a boy because he’s a boxer and such, Carmen sees Kirby like the daughter she’s never had! Whenever Kirby visits, Carmen is just super happy!

The Ref.

Kirby tries to be friendly towards the Ref, but he just doesn’t talk to him enough. The Ref honestly dislikes any boxer. They’re all crazy and he doesn’t get paid enough to deal with their shenanigans.

Metamay Day 5

I wanna say that in RTDL, he and everyone else had to take a little break because of how cold White Wafers was. (They had a ton of Hot Chocolate too from Magolor! What a nice friend..)
