she’s a clumsy kisser, at first. her nose bumps into yours more often than not and her hands are squishing your face rather than cupping it and sometimes, when she’s trying to press you against the door or her bed or the counter, she slips and you get a flash of teeth on your bottom lip that is like a shock of electricity through your bones, startling and graceless. but it’s nice, because she kisses you like she’s hungry for it, passion burning behind her tongue, lashes fluttering on your cheekbones. you feel wanted. she makes you feel important and desired, the way she whines and nibbles and fumbles cluelessly with the buttons on your shirt so she can trail those fire kisses down onto your chest, suck them into your collarbone ; your neck.

she gets better at it, though, through practice. less messy, but always filled with love. she learns she likes kissing slow, too, limbs tangled together underneath the duvet when the sun is peaking in through the blinds and the birds are only just waking up, singing sweet in the way that makes this all feel like a fairytale or a dream, a figment of her imagination . except it’s not— because she can feel your heartbeat against her chest, the reassuring ba-dum, ba-dum, that sets the pace for the lazy, rhythmless kiss she’s giving you, left hand underneath your head and curled into your hair, angling your mouth just right, right hand on your hip, pulling you closer. it’s still bleary with sleep but it is gentle, comforting, the kind of kiss you wish for on stars.

she adores those in passing kisses too. the ones she presses to your cheek when she’s in a rush to get to work, because she slept through her alarm and steve’s honking at her in the drive-way, probably pissed that he’s going to have to forgoe his morning coffee to get the both of them there on time. how, it’s never quite enough— because she’s a girl with a heart made for loving, so she’ll turn on her heel to give you a couple more, a peck on the brow, your nose, your lips (in that order) just for good measure. how she’ll blow you a kiss goodbye and how she ends up daydreaming about how you caught it and held it close to your chest, chuckling as steve emerged to drag her away from the collar because she was really considering going back just for one more, because you’re so cute it makes her impervious to good judgement.

robin decides, the best kind of kisses are the ones you smile into , though. the quick, feather light ones that she dishes to you one after the other, rapid fire, as you giggle at her and wrap your arms around her shoulders as she spins you around and tells you that she loves you, over and over again, because she does. she likes the way your eyes crinkle shut and your nose scrunches and you gasp in excitement and surprise— it tugs so much at her heartstrings she thinks you could pull her heart right out of her chest if you wanted, because it is yours for the taking.
