One of my favorite historical tidbits is that Arab traders, for centuries, fooled Europeans into thinking cinnamon came from a rare, vicious and fearsome cinnamon bird.

The belief was so prevalent, in fact, that the mythical cinnamon bird shows up in the writings of Herodotus and Aristotle, all the way into medieval European manuscripts where it’s illustrated in all its fierce, cinnamony glory:

Pliny the Elder expressed skepticism of the bird in his writings, rightly assuming that it was a tale invented to keep control on the trade and prices by reducing competition, but the belief was already so widespread that it persisted in many areas into the early 1300’s.



˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ a burn book but its actually filled with your current/past fictional crushes

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ give yourself secret quests and reward yourself when you complete them

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ explore and keep track of different moon phases

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ collect/take pictures of angel numbers

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ adopt hobbies like baking and crotchet and decorate and make cute things

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ listen to japanese city pop

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ imagine there are fairies with you throughout the day and whisper to them your thoughts

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ say goodnight to the moon and stars before bed and morning to the sun at dawn

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ match your pajamas to your sheets

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ self-monologues whether its out loud or internal

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ randomly compliment strangers

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ catch up on/rewatch your fav childhood shows and find more

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ wear body glitter

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ decorate yourself with mismatched socks, layers, headbands, bows, hats and eccentric jewelry

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ use unique mugs and try different tea flavours

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ say 'everypony' instead of everybody
