I feel like I'm dying. I feel like I'm floating. I'm not really here. I'm so tired. I can't sleep. I want a hug. I want to disappear. I want to cry. I want to bleed. I really don't want to go to work. I'm scared to not to. I'm so fucking tired. I'm so fucking worthless. I don't know what to hold on to. There's nothing. A hug could save me right now. One tender touch could make all the difference. I need...something.
I randomly decided to look through the DVDs today and I saw this gem! Here's to the beginning of my Ewan McGregor movie collectionđť @palfriendpatine66
Movie: The Island (2005)
Character: Lincoln Six Echo
Oneshot/Ficlet
Word Count: 382
Synopsis: Lincoln Six Echo encounters twins for the first time.
A/N: I am thinking about making a collection of oneshots for this character centered around his first experiences in the real world. Maybe call it âFirstsâ or something. I also want to challenge myself to write a fic once a week so that I can improve my writing.
Lincoln Six Echo was taking a morning stroll on his local parkâs walking path. His best friend, Jordan Two Delta, was still asleep when he left the house. Although they normally did everything together, he loved how peaceful she looked while sleeping and didn't want to wake her. He breathed in the fresh morning air and smiled at the joggers that passed him by. At the Institute, the clones participated in daily morning exercises. The harsh overhead lights and frigid air conditioning of the Institute could never compare to the soft glow of the rising sun and the cool gentle breeze of the outside world.
He then saw a woman walking towards him and pushing two large connected chairs with wheels. A "stroller" he remembered learning from Jordan Two Delta who loved talking to mothers at the park. Each chair seated a young child and as the woman drew closer, he noticed the children were dressed in matching outfits. Oh, Jordan is going to love hearing about this! He smiled at the woman and then realized that the children weren't just dressed the same, they looked exactly the same!
"I have never seen a clone this young at the Institute before. And the Institute was destroyed weeks ago, so where did she get a clone?" Lincoln wondered.
The woman smiled back at Lincoln and he stopped her before she passed him.
âExcuse me, maâam! Your-your child has a clone. How is that possible?â
The woman looked dumbfounded at Lincoln, then at her children, then back at Lincoln before bursting into laughter. âYou know what?â She laughed, âI've never heard twins called clones before but I guess they technically are! I'm going to start saying that just to mess with people. You have a good day, sir! And with that, she continued on her way.
Lincoln was just as confused as he was before but he didn't want to chase the lady down for answers. "Twins, she said. Is a twin like a clone but not a clone? What is the difference?" Lincoln pondered. If only McCord was still alive. He always had the answer. Maybe Jordan could help him understand.
"The more I learn about this world the stranger it seems." He thought. Lincoln shook his head and started back home.
Fun. That's what the fuck Down with Love had going on. Fun! We need movies that will be unashamedly fun and quirky and just plain silly again. Not sarcastic. Not making fun of itself (or the audience) because it knows it's "cringe" and is embarrassed about it. Just let movies be full-blown wacky and ridiculous! It doesn't need to justify why it's that way. Embrace the weird! Be fun!
we need to bring back to cinema whatever the FUCK down with love had going on

Right now: do something other than social media or reading the news. Play a game, pick up a hobby, go for a walk, try a new recipe, ground yourself in something. Let your brain process everything by putting it on the back burner, let it percolate. Remember that you do have a voice, that the worst thing you can do is check out, that the most radical thing you can do is be kind.
Next few weeks: Keep working on the things that bring you joy. Make plans for the future. Assess where you are and where you want to be â physically, mentally, personally, geographically. Schedule doctorâs appointments. Delete your Twitter. Make new friends, connect with old ones, talk to your neighbors, join a community group. If you have a supportive family, talk to them too. Donate to the ACLU. By propping up others, teaching others, reassuring others, you help yourself too. Find a mutual aid group. Keep your head up. Love yourself and donât wallow in despair. Remember that you do have a voice, that the worst thing you can do is check out, that the most radical thing you can do is be kind.
Next few months: execute on the plans for the future. Keep going with those hobbies. Keep loving yourself. Read reliable, fact-based news. Delete your Twitter (for real this time). Bake bread for your neighbor. Celebrate the holidays. Buy concert tickets as far out as you can, give yourself things to look forward to. Volunteer at a community center. Take a class. Teach others about how us queers and faggots are just people too. Remember that you do have a voice, that the worst thing you can do is check out, that the most radical thing you can do is be kind.
Next 6 months: Keep executing your plans. Write your representatives. Plant a little garden. Learn an instrument. Go to a zoo. Keep reading fact-based news (AP, Reuters, ProPublica, NPR even though itâs a bit biased to the left). Donate to the ACLU. When the sun comes out, get some bread, cheese, apples, and grapes, put them in a basket, go for a gay little picnic. Donât make another Twitter account. Stock up on meds. Learn a new TTRPG. Pick up a fibrecraft. Remember that you do have a voice, that the worst thing you can do is check out, that the most radical thing you can do is be kind.
Next 4 years: make little baby steps to move towards your plans. Keep building relationships. Vote in local elections. Donate to the ACLU. Volunteer for state or national elections. Recognize that you live in a stupendously large country with assloads of diversity. Love yourself. Lift up other people. Remember that you do have a voice, that the worst thing you can do is check out, that the most radical thing you can do is be kind.
Shit is going to be really really rough for many many people. But if youâre reading this, you canât give up, you canât give in, you have to keep going. If youâre trans, if youâre queer, if youâre a freak and a faggot, you have to live.
Full disclaimer that I live in western Washington state, Iâm white, I have a tremendous amount of privilege. I do my damndest to help people and use my own privilege to help others. Iâm not perfect nor infallible, but reach out if you need something.
And if youâre still reading this, I love you.
Before we start, I have to give a disclaimer. For some reason, there are two different runtimes for this movie. The first is 90 minutes and the second is 99. I don't know if the second is special edition or has extended scenes, but that's the one I watched so the Screentime Percentage will be based on that runtime.
Fun fact: Keith Allen has a minor role in this movie which is a fun fact because he worked alongside Ewan in Shallow Grave!
Genre: Comedy/Sport
Rating: R
Director: Carl Prechezer
Starring: Sean Pertwee, Catherine Zeta-Jones
Synopsis: "Blue Juice" is about J.C., a surfer and local legend, experiencing anxiety over growing older and settling down. With his 30th birthday on the horizon, his childhood friends make an unexpected visit and plunge his life into chaos. J.C. has to decide what's more important: the call to adventure or the call of love.
Ewan Review: Ewan plays the character Dean Raymond. He's one of J.C's. friends and is a drug dealer. He wants to turn his life around but keeps hurting his friends in the process. He smiles and laughs a LOT and holds hands with another member of the friend group twice. He has long hair that's covered by a hat the majority of the movie. The hat has the brand name StĂźssy on it which made me smile because Ewan eventually plays a character with the last name Stussy. We also get to see him with a bloody face due to a fight scene. His performance was fine and I really liked his character's outfits.
Screentime Percentage: Ewan is on screen for a grand total of 23/99 minutes making his SP 22%.
To Ewan or not to Ewan: Is the movie worth watching for Ewan McGregor alone? Yes. Is the movie worth watching in general? Yes. This movie has grown on me a bit. Maybe I relate to the characters' internal struggles of life moving too fast, the fear of stagnating, no longer finding joy in your career, or allowing anxiety to rob you of new experiences now that I'm older.
Where to Watch: "Blue Juice" is currently free to watch with ads on YouTube.
Conclusion: It's cute and has some interesting themes it wants to explore. I just don't think it explores them well. It's a pleasant movie but one that you randomly stumble upon while waiting at the dentist or airport, if that makes any sense.
Beautifully done. Wow.

Hello!
I feel your sadness and agree. Luckily, I have some info that will hopefully brighten your spirits! Ewan actually did two more musicals after Moulin Rouge!
In 2005, he performed in the stage musical "Guys and Dolls." Unfortunately, I haven't come across a bootleg of the full play but here's a link to him singing "Luck be a Lady" https://youtu.be/yigcJ3OCa-s?si=I70lyYBb6H6ra1Gf
Then in 2017, he was in Disney's live action "Beauty and the Beast" as Lumière. Now, he's a CGI candlestick for 99% of the movie, but he does sing twice that I can recall!
Finally, here's a list of Ewan movies after 2001 that aren't musicals but he does sing in for one reason or another:
Down with Love - 1 end credit song (absolutely gorge)
Miss Potter - 1 song (serenades the main character midway through the movie)
T2 Trainspotting - 1 song midway through the movie (not a serious song at all but still fun)
Bleeding Love - 2 songs (1st in the middle of the movie for fun and 2nd during the end credits as a duet with his daughter)
If you'd like a list of movies pre-Moulin Rouge I can do that too!
Sometimes I think about the fact that after Moulin Rogue, Ewan Mcgregor never did another musical and it makes me sad for the world.
Whoa this is seriously cool! Thank you for sharing your fish of the day! That's so funny that even fish have doppelgangers lol
(for anyone reading this who also received a freebie ask from me and was confused on how to answer, THIS is a perfect example!)
Freebie!
Tell me something you've been dying for someone to ask you about

Mola Tecta!!! aka the hoodwinker sunfish
this is thee most recently discovered ocean sunfish (2015!!!), and not because they are particularly elusive or shy, but because they look.
almost exactly the same as Mola Mola
@tired0artist I think this is my favorite redesign that I've seen so far! The one on the left reminds me of Tigress (Kung Fu Panda) or Korra (The Legend of Korra). I like the design on the cloth between her legs and how you paid homage to her tube top. Beautiful work!
| ahsoka redesign |
back in my starwars era for now, so hereâs my version of young ahsoka! i really enjoyed drawing her and figuring out how to dress a rebellious padawan hahah hope that youâll enjoy!
