My take on Hyrule’s Backstory

I think one of the reasons why I love Hyrule’s character and that very first Zelda game so much is because of how much there is to speculate on and world build from the little provided to you.

My own take on Hyrule is that I think he would’ve been born to a fairy and to a hylian making him half fairy half hylian. The fairy would’ve probably been a budding great fairy. I wrote about my theories about fairy reproduction somewhere on my blog but it basically boils down to that I don’t think fairies actually have sexes, or chromosomes, and their idea of gender mainly comes from what they overhear from Hylians.

This means fairies reproduce asexually, in my own headcanoning. I think they do this by fusing, kinda Steven universe style lol 😔 When they fuse it creates both a stronger fairy, the two that fused, and a new fairy from the leftover energy. When fairies defuse that’s what grows their population.

When Hyrule’s parents met they fell in love. One thing led to another and they created him. Since Hylians and fairies don’t have the same form of reproduction, it caused both of them to basically sacrifice all of their energy and lives to make him. It might’ve been an accident creating him, they didn’t know it would kill them, but even if it was neither of them would regret it if they had known.

Hyrule’s fairy aunts raise him for the first 6 years of his life until they realize that he might be the keeper of the hero’s spirit. He’s also getting really big and they’re starting to lack in resources a growing half-hylian needs. So begrudgingly they relinquish him to a small catholic convent at the border of Calatia.

Hyrule doesn’t really enjoy this. He went from living as a free spirit surrounded by nature and love to a very authoritative and strict setting. The nuns that he lives with also treat him as a girl. I think biologically Hyrule would only have 1 X chromosome to his name with the other one being something made of pure magic. So his sex is technically female? On his mothers side at least. Whatever he inherited from his fairy parent’s side looks feminine by hylian standards so they treat him as such.

I have another headcanon that Hylia prefers for all that carry the hero’s spirit to be male to represent that very first hero. Whenever a person who carries the hero’s spirit is born with anything but XY chromosomes gets gently bestowed with SEVERE GENDER DYSPHORIA from the goddess herself.

When Hyrule is around 9 or 10 he gets fed up and too antsy to stay much longer so he packs a small bag and sets out on his own adventure. I don’t think he would be catholic after staying at the convent. My time in catholic school definitely didn’t make me Catholic. That being said, I don’t think he’d hate the stories so he carries a bible with him and occasionally uses some practices in his adventures. Like in his second game when he uses a cross to deter moas.

And that’s my take on Hyrule’s backstory before his quests.

I genuinely don’t, in Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword he kinda looks Brunette, but it’s really light. I think it’s more like the only reason he was a brunette in the first two games was due to the limited color palette. In the 3rd game that came out in the early 90s he had pink hair!

my guess is that because Ocarina of time did so well and he became so recognizable in that game they stuck to blonde for a while

Zelda Universe and Swearing

‼️Quick warning to anybody who doesn’t like strong language or swearing! This post is going to discuss it‼️

I’m finally trying my hand at writing fanfiction again, who knows if I will be successful 😮‍💨. I’ve come across a small issue I didn’t expect for cursing. Obviously there’s simple ones like “fuck” or “damn it” but I’ve seen more creative ones and more relevant ones in other works. What I mean is that I’m trying to curate a little list of curses and swears relevant to the Zelda universe.

more innocent ones I’ve seen are like: Holy Hylia and Golden Goddesses. Said like: Holy Hylia!!” or “Great golden goddesses…”

I’ve seen funnier ones like: Dins sagging tits

Badboyhalo didn't particularly know who was in his bed at the moment, but he also didn't really care.

Judging by the soft fingers combing through long hair, and a cold hand on the bare sliver of skin at his waist; Forever. But by the nose at his nape; Etoiles?

Bad would just have to roll over, he guessed. He was cold anyway.

Letting out a deep, deep breath he'd been holding since the hand starting stroking through Bad's long midnight hair, he heaved himself over, ancient bones creaking with the effort.

The demon opened his eyes to soft morning light. Sun shone through barely closed blinds, not too brightly to hurt his eyes, but enough to make him groan.

Yup. Forever. Etoiles hated the morning light just as much as he did, while Forever took any excuse he could to crack open the windows and stare INTO the SUN.

Blinking sleep out of his eyes, Bad tried to register his surroundings.

Headache, first of all. Very familiar. Eventual hangover most likely.

Foul taste in his mouth.

Gentle digits raking through his hair, massaging his scalp.

Stomach gurgling uncomfortably.

The smell of old booze and weed - wait, stomach gurgling?

Badboyhalo jerked up, stumbling from the bed and gripping his cane by the bedside table tightly. Hand over his mouth, blankets dragging until they're caught by Forever's weight, the nether demon bumbled into the bathroom.

Cold tile against his soles, he bent over the toilet, and-

I think you can guess what happened then.

Bad wiped his mouth, whimpering at tightness of his throat and gross taste left over. He quickly filled the glass on his counter with cold tap water.

Feet padded into the bathroom next to him. Hand on his nape and another on the cup, Forever helped him drink the rest of the water.

A clumsy, delicate kiss aimed at his cheekbone missed. Landing on his jaw instead. "Bom dia," Forever murmured, husky voice grating pleasantly on Bad's ears.

Cute.

Badboyhalo responded tiredly, "bom dia."

"Slept well?"

"As well as you can, considering I was blackout drunk and you kept kicking me in your sleep."

Forever snorted.

"I don't sleep securely when I had drunk alcohol."

'I can tell' thought Bad. But that wasn't something he thought he should share.

Forever's face is all too pretty relaxed like this anyway, he didn't particularly want it to go away.

Great you found another job, you're on the company's career page and the job exists!! So you're going to need to make an account on the career page website. They're using Workday, the same site as the last job you applied for? Who cares? You need to make another account for THIS job's workday page.

Now you're going to upload your resume. That'll autopopulate about 15 boxes with everything on your resume, except formatted wrong and with tons of errors. So just go through and painstakingly check the dates on all of that and rewrite everything you already laid out in an aesthetically pleasing format on your resume.

Ok time for the cover letter, explain why this specific job and company are deeply important to you. You love their mission statement and wouldn't even laugh if their ceo was gunned down in the street. You'll really want to reiterate the things you just spent the last 20 minutes filling out on the resume section

(Remember to include language from the job description, people who work in HR are lower than dogs and they need patterns or they get confused.) Write about a page, but hey don't sound too desperate or robotic this is where they judge your character!

Maybe add your portfolio site at the end here, who knows if that helps no one has ever clicked mine haha.
