is there any canon to there being only a 5 hour time slot to do missions?
I think the most realistic sensible one would be that’s the only time frame they have on the island to do missions and actions that influence their percentages but that’s kinda boring for a fanfic/fantasy perspective
it also gets kind of convoluted with that even though their percentages won’t change, they could still grind out stuff to prep for missions
My thoughts are that:
(in fanon) there is no five hour time limit and they are just constantly on edge, anarchy server style
out of those 5 hours they’re just put into comas. They drop where they stand
They're overcome with such intense exhaustion and weakness that they can’t even really do work
magic, they can’t interact with anything relating to quests
pls pls pls share your guy’s thoughts
you have very good takes <3 a lot of the time I’m split between whether or not I actually ship something or if I just really like a good story and good dynamic. Maybe those are the same thing? But with GanLink I really wish there were more stories for them that explored the dynamic more thoroughly.
I think the way I was imagining their dynamic would be that Ganon is revived as a man, unlike the pig/beast form he’s taken for the past centuries. He would have empathy and emotions this time but he still has a hunger for power. He remembers some of his past, but not very clearly. He takes the weakened hero as a pet, mostly as a show of victory to the crown. He doesn’t realize for some time how badly he desecrated Hyrule in his last reincarnation. He doesn’t like this, at least not anymore. He still wants power, but what is power if you want to enjoy it? This land has nothing to give him, not crops, no art, not even clean water. So he starts gathering resources to start forging this land back into something great again. Something that he can actually feel proud of conquering. All the while he waits for the crown to attack, but they never do. I think Zelda from LoZ 1 would be unique in the way that she’s been a survivor since birth. It’s not like she doesn’t want to rescue Link or defeat Ganon again, but she knows that her kingdom does not have the resources to go to war. She decides to wait for Ganon to do something first and he hasn’t. All the while he’s had Link in a pretty birdcage of a room. He thought this might humiliate him but Link has never been better fed or rested. Oddly enough the hero begins flirting with him. Ganon learns pretty quickly this was just a ploy to draw him in to slay him once again when his guard is down. Oddly enough, the murder attempt is what attracts Ganon’s attention. The hero does start acting more and more like a caged animal after his assassination attempts keep failing while Ganon finds himself feeling more and more like a man (Like as in a person). He then finds himself in the odd position of being in a Cold War with the princess(es), in possession of a slowly maddening hero, and in the process of trying to heal a country he himself destroyed.
I’m sorry 😭 this turned into a short story instead of a response but the questions you asked were so good and I haven’t actually exercised this idea very well until today
thank you <3
Is there a certain version of GanLink that you like best or is it more of the concept itself that you like? I think it’s a really interesting dynamic in general but I think it would be really interesting with a post Adventure of Link Link and a cult revived Ganon.
I am 100% a Hero/Villain shipper if people put in the work to convince me of it, both consensual and not.
Obviously with That Broken Promise, Ganondorf there is a rational person, a good king, the only Triforce wielder with a braincell, and someone that the Curse of Demise had its work cut out for it to warp into doing what it wanted.
But I've also written a lot of Ganondorf's who are still villains, although I personally aim to keep the human-formed version rational with clear and obvious motivations that make sense. I'm only really into omnicidal villains once you leave behind active humanity (Or unless you demonstrate how and why their feelings about the world have been driven over that brink.)
This is only half because it's racist as Hell if you don't; the other half is because it's fucking boring.
eg. Calamity Ganon, a kind of amorphous blob makes sense as an omnicidal villain, as does the Echoes of Wisdom one, but once you drop back into Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf I want to see that at least at one point he still had reason before it became corrupted, if that makes sense?
So on that front, Adventure of Link reviving with a Doll and being picked up by his revived Ganon could work for me in four or five different ways.
Is he revived as a proper man with real emotions and sympathetic cause? Win. Is he revived as a beast that keeps Link as a pet? Win. Is he revived as a man who has rational desires but still likes the idea of a pet hero? Win. Is he revived as an omnicidal force of nature that wants a trophy? Win. Is he revived as a monster and Link's just sick of this world and into that? Win.
Probably a few other ways that I don't much feel like listing on my main, but you can probably guess from my other works too. So I guess in general it's the concept I like: how DO you make these characters work together? How do you build a relationship that feels substantial with that kind of a polarized starting point that doesn't just handwave away the difficult parts?
I love Vidow. I think it’s a super cute ship and I’ve thought this for like a decade, ever since I read the manga in middle school.
My question lies in the context of aus where the colors can merge and unmerge from and into Link (or Four in LU). Or also I guess more canon adjacent stories where Link doesn’t split again. Do you think Link/Four loves Shadow or do you think it’s more of a sectioned off complicated part of him? Or other? In cases where Link splits on and off again do the other colors start feeling non-platonic affection for Shadow due to Vio’s emotions leaking over?
honestly I’m a multishipper so I tend to enjoy anything well written or convincing enough so I have no solid opinions on this but I’m very curious if there’s any consensus or other opinions!
people trying to push Philza into dad roles frustrates me as a bbh main because BBH is literally right there 😭 he goes out of his way to go above and beyond with all of the eggs and in his lore gave up HEAVEN to stay back and be a father!! Yet I so often see fics and art of Philza being the primary caretaker
I also don’t watch a ton of Phil so I might be wrong but idk man
I may not like BBH personally, but he’s a damn good Egg Dad, and he did essentially ‘raise’ Cellbit during the War. Is he Cellbit’s dad? No, but Cellbit works so hard to make him proud, so it’s like. Hell yeah, Dadify BBH. Why not? He’s always prepared, he will Protect, he’ll do anything for his kids.
I don’t want anyone to be the Server Dad, but. You know. There should at least be options
I think Hyrule wouldn’t know some things in other eras bc his own is missing quite a bit. Like it starts with him not knowing a popular snack and the chain is like: ??!! So they make it their immediate mission to make Hyrule try some.
Cut to Wind who immediately wants Hyrule to try any super spicy or sour thing he can get his hands on. (Takis, war head equivalent) Wind basically thinks that he’s taken on the grand task of educating a pilgrim. He’s showing funny pictures to Hyrule like: Do you know crab???
Hyrule actually does know most of the things shown to him, they’re usually in his era, maybe scarce but there, or he’s seen it in a book from the royal library. He goes along with it though, just to make Wind happy. He’s does get a little insulted when Wind presents him with a lemon. Nevertheless, he puts on a good show. “It’s so sour 😩 I’ve never tasted something that hurt me oh so much 😖”
surprisingly, to Hyrule, others in the chain buy his act. Twilight slides over: “surely you know what a pumpkin is…” “do you wear it? 🥺”
Hyrule starts using these assumptions to his advantage. “What is cake?..” “Is massages a type of cake?” “What is a vodka shot? Is it a type of arrow? 😇” He used this to his advantage at a shockingly high success rate. He has the chain eating out of his palm.
this all comes to a stop when they’re back in Hyrule’s era and they run into a lemon tree. Wind slow turns to Hyrule who’s trying to hide behind time. “How much of it was a lie.” “Whoa… what a miracle… lemons.. in my era…”
wind doesn’t buy it. The chain treats Hyrule like the boy who cried wolf for a week 😮💨
(time is the actual Victorian child. When he overhears wind trying to teach Hyrule something he’s lowkey like 👀 bc half the time he doesn’t know)
in the series a lot of people die and it’s pretty meaningful. I’m also a fan of whump and let’s be honest. DRAMA. So that being said, I think it would keep things spicy. But. I won’t do it if everyone is strongly opposed.
survey time^_^ for those of u that were into mcyt when you were younger, who were ur main mcyts back then? and if you wanna add, who do you main now?
So. The hero’s clothes, like the traditional green tunic and cap, is often like a uniform worn by the hero I think best seen in Sky, Twilight, and Wind’s games. It’s often referred back to what the first hero wore in reflection of him.
Time, however, wears the tunic and hat bc it’s custom for the Kokiri. Everyone wears that outfit in the forest.
When it gets down to Legend, there’s no mention in his games of why he would wear something like that so, here’s where my headcanoning comes in. Legend always heard about the fallen hero and he feels a great deal of empathy and grief for him. When he starts his first quest, being so close in age to the fallen hero, he understands him even more. So to honor him, he decided to dress as he did. To take him with him so that when he slays Ganon it’s as if the fallen hero is with him taking his revenge.
Hyrule just really looked up to the Hero of Legend and wanted to cosplay him when he was a little kid. He refuses to admit to the chain this until Dawn or Aurora dig it out of him over a dinner.
tbh, I’m not voting based off politics at all
Baghera is, to me, the obvious choice. She’s smart, reasonable, and well intentioned, BUT. Is there drama with her winning? I believe woman but she’s just too good of a choice. I’m too messy for that.
Badboyhalo is my personal bbg, but I’m so worried he might go villain mode and my heart can’t take that 💔 I know he’s not the same as c!bbh but if he brings Skeppy in I think we all know how easily he can be manipulated and made to be the bad guy. Even without Skeppy, what if they hold Dapper at stake? Bbh is too kind hearted 🥀 I can’t watch my fav be made to be a bad guy. I do want him exposed to the horrors tho
and then Gegg… Gegg might take the cake for me not bc of his policies or Gegg swag, but bc.. who would he bring in? What if he revives Tilin or Juanaflipa and his person? Also I just miss Charlie
ALRIGHT BBH ENJOYERS, I did it.
this might be a little late but I finally wrote a fic on the theory of using up too many totems.
like that headcanon that when the jaidens went into that dungeon, and bad used over 20? It’s about that :)) so please please enjoy!
