Gloom and Mind Controlling Technology:

I mentioned that HYLIA is trying to fight off and end the growing control of another group called the Cult of Demise. The cult has weaponized a virus that evolves too quickly to make a vaccine. The cult also uses mind controlling technology that requires very expensive technology to combat. These roadblocks are why HYLIA is so interested in less than 1% of the new generation of children and young adults who have significant resistance, and in some cases full immunity, to either the gloom, mind controlling technology, or even both. 

So

Here’s quick explanation about how the gloom and mind controlling technology works: 

The gloom is a highly infective virus that wears down the body typically over the course of 2 months. The gloom is highly infectious and has begun to spread into flora and fauna in some regions (this is speculated to be genetic engineering done by Demise). It tends to advance in 3 stages. The first one lasts the longest, about a month. During this time the person afflicted will find themself weakening at a rapid pace, being prone to cold like symptoms, severe migraines, and nose bleeds. The second stage lasts 2-3 weeks on average, the person will rapidly deteriorate and experience changes in personality such as aggression, severe depression that is rapidly onset, and dread. The last and final stage is short, a week at the longest. The person enters a zombie-like frenzy, often being physically aggressive whilst showing signs of memory loss. Then they die. The first stage is curable, with a 70% success rate greatly depending on age and health. The second stage is also treatable, but with much worse odds with only 30% dying. The final stage is untreatable. Keep in mind a good portion of the citizens of Hyrule cannot afford or don’t have access to treatment. 

Shadow was taken in by HYLIA not because he’s resistant to the gloom, but because he had it to the point where he entered the third stage. Instead of dying, he miraculously recovered. 

The mind controlling technology are usually large boxes that the cult tries to drop into convenient locations, such as small towns, Hyrule army camps, and so on. They emit electromagnetic waves that work at a frequency that disrupts the neurological functioning of Hylians. Depending on the frequency, strength, and proximity to the mind controllers (I should probably think of a cooler name for these) people experience migraines, seizures, and not too uncommonly death. The other major influence of the mind controllers is that people most often slip into a very dissociative state where they become very agreeable and unable to fight back. The cult typically uses these people as serfs. People who are rescued from these states often suffer from brain injury, the death of glial cells, memory loss, and they often demonstrate signs of early onset dementia or altheimers. We’ll see more of this with Wild

A little introduction:

Hello! I’ve been talking and meeting more and more people lately so I think a proper introduction is due.

My name is Liv. I’ve semi recently graduated with a bachelor’s in Psych and a lot of stupid pre-med course work which I don’t think I’m going to use. 😮‍💨 iykyk. I’ve been spending my time lately traveling, job hunting, trying to reconnect with my hobbies, and posting on here. 😻

I love video games, namely Zelda and Minecraft. Lately I’ve really been enjoying the Linked Universe fandom but I’m also a huge nerd for anime and manga. My all time favorite anime is Tsuritama and I’m currently reading Witch Hat Atelier.

I’ve been trying to get back into touch with drawing and creative writing, two arts that I feel like I fell out of touch with while I was studying for the past 4-5ish years. Maybe I’ll post some of my things but my confidence in how good they look so maybe later 😖

My most genuine hobby is… yapping. I love love love talking with the lovely people of this website about anything and everything. If you ever want a conversation, I’m your guy!

Legend has the bun instincts (that isn’t good)

Fanfic prompt: I love the idea of legend and twilight having instincts from their animal forms

The dark form is a literal representation of the person where the twilight curse just happened to make link a wolf because of the triforce and not a spirit as it did with the npcs

But I couldn’t help myself because it made me think just how bad can their instincts get

I think it is mostly just the symbolism of a cannibalistic rabbit

The rabbit is often seen as a symbol of innocence and people find them cute and consider them tiny lil fluffs

But rabbits are genuinely nasty pieces of shit and well known for cannibalism and mutilating each other (eating each other’s kits ,chopping off dicks , or ripping off ears, a rabbit paw has completely different meaning in this one)

And I just want to say… a rabbit is a very dangerous and very scary animal if it was a person with the skills of one)

If we talk instincts it would be more realistic if legend was a crazy violence driven maniac because rabbits instinctively want to hurt each other

As they are very territorial the rabbit will often be aggressive towards the rest of the fluffle (and he is a hylian, so what does it mean for the chain)

(it is an evolutionary trait that presumably evolved because rabbits compete for food often and the aggressive behavior would make the competition more likely to perish)

Rabbit teeth can easily bite off fingers and rip out chunks of meat from your body as they are very sharp in one place like scissors

A stressed rabbit is a danger (and legend is always stressed so there is that) as it increases their chances of survival

Further more canonically legend murdered at least ten of his uncle’s friends (the boss fights are mandatory you need the items)

And probably at least a dozen knights (I once killed over 348 because they keep respawning and I was actively hunting those lil guys)

All of them who were sons and relatives, fathers and loved by someone

While it was a fight for survival he knew they all were just innocent men trying to protect the kingdom being simply cursed not in control of their actions

But as it came to his or their life he choose himself above all others (like the rabbit he is)

Even people he knew since he was little he killed when they posed a threat

If we use blind it gets even scarier because blind is a boss that takes the appearance of the one you love the most

Yet link killed his uncle's appearance while it begged and pleaded that he would stop (that fight in four sword palace is mental)

He killed the owner of the four sword afterwards as well

His wish was to undo the damage that ganon caused …,

But would that wish include the men dead by his hand ?

Or do hundreds of men stayed dead by his hands

I like to think that legend doesn’t regret his own continued existence

Perhaps if he could have the chance to redo his actions he would do so again if necessary

Legend the type of guy who you want to keep fed or risk getting cannibalized (the only and last time that the chain made that mistake)

When he was teasing wars the knight should have been glad that legend wasn’t Pulling out a fucking gun (which he canonically has since the oracle adventures)

Even if it ain’t personal it’s just survival instinct

Hyrule Parents (and birth) Headcanon

One of my most favorite headcanons in the Lu community is Hyrule being part fairy bc it makes sense with his magical aptitude, his fairy, spell, and bc it’s just plain fun. Another reason I like this headcanon so much tho is bc it opens up a lot of world building

I couldn’t find it for the life of me but a while back I saw a theory that great fairies are made up of several smaller fairies that kind of puppet as her (if you made this post or know who did pls lmk so I can give credit 😭) I thought that was pretty cool and it got me to thinking about fairy reproduction

That sounds so messy pls let me explain 😮‍💨 I don’t think fairies would use sexual reproduction to reproduce, I personally headcanon that Zelda fairies don’t even have biological sexes or are all female, or resembling females to hylians. (Gender identity for them would be a different conversation) 

I think it drew my mind to Steven Universe (I won’t apologize for being on tumblr in the 2010s). I don’t think fairies would come from rocks but maybe from fusion. Now I can finally get to my headcanon 😩 

I think fairies could potentially reproduce through fusion. Two fairies who match a really high frequency of the same energy, like their souls are nearing the same likeness, fuse to form a slightly larger, slightly stronger fairy. The leftover energy of this fusion creates another fairy in the wake of their fusion. As terms for energy it can be supplanted with magic, but I think this event would be so intense that it would leave enough magic and energy behind to leave another fairy bc I think fairies are made of magic. 

Sometimes the fused fairies eventually separate which slowly grows the population. Some of them don’t separate however and slowly fuse with more fairies creating a larger and larger and more and more powerful fairy. Eventually a great mother forms out of hundreds of other fairies. This is also why she’s called a great mother, her fusions have probably created many of the fairies around her. I imagine it would take years if not centuries for a great mother to form. 

I think Hyrule’s mother would be a great fairy and his father (or other mother 👀 sperm and eggs are not required in fairy reproduction) would fall in love. They love each other so hard that a being of blood and bones and one of pure magic fuse in a way that’s half hylian and half fairy. And then Hyrule spawns. This unfortunately takes out both of his parents, Hylians can go through the amount of magic it takes to make a fairy and there wasn’t enough energy left to sustain the great mother, so Hyrule is left alone in their wake. 

I think he’d spend his first few years being brought up by fairies, but they’d transfer him to a Hylian village when he was very young bc they thought it would be better for him. (It probably wasn’t but they meant well 😭) 

I feel like this is so messy but I hope somebody enjoys it. Pls lmk your thoughts! Hopefully I’ll come back and clean this up

This idea would not leave me alone, plays into the idea that when Bad sunk the city of Atlantis it was Foolish's City and thats how the two meet.

I wanted to add a little epilogue where shortly after meeting each other they immediately get sucked up into portal that thankfully dumps them out onto Lon Lon Ranch. Malon finds them stumbling through her pastures, takes in the dried blood in Legend’s hairline and Hyrule’s drenched appearance. She basically looks at two pathetic drenched cats and takes them in. She has them feeling better in no time with a meal, baths, and a potion. When Time gets back home introductions and explanations go around. Upon hearing that they’re all called Link they’re like: omg it’s such a common name.

They think it’s a coincidence until Malon tells them: “you guys fell out of a portal. Nature is attacking you. You all have the same name. You don’t think you’re connected somehow?”

And then they’re all finally like: oh

I just think they’re all kinda dumb like that 💕 affectionately

AU where the Hyrule and Legend meet first before the rest of the chain.

The portal dumps Hyrule right in the middle of the ocean. Even if he could swim it would be futile as there’s no land for many miles. As he starts to drown he sees a flash of shimmering scales. He loses and regains consciousness over and over again over a course of time that he can’t count. Each time he wakes sees pretty pink scales, pink hair, gills, and violet eyes. Sometimes he even hears the comforting few notes of a song.

When he finally comes to it’s tucked safely under a cluster of palm trees on the shore of an unfamiliar beach in an even more unfamiliar, but familiar, Hyrule. He has to wonder if the goddess really does love him or if he really was rescued by a mermaid.

Legend had never intended to leave the unfortunate Hylian behind. He left him in a safe spot on the shore before looking for a nearby village that could give better medical attention than he could. He never would have expected an avalanche to descend out of nowhere. It’s not even rainy season. Before he can run or activate a shield he’s struck across the head and knows no more.

He gains consciousness a few times and each he sees the shining form of a green fairy, a color of fairy he’s never seen before. Each time he wakes he hears soft chiming and feels the warmth of fairy magic in his blood. When he finally comes to he’s nestled safely in the roots of a great old tree. He wonders if the green fairy was real or if one of his rings just activated.

Legend and Hyrule both travel for a day aching and tired. Each of them are determined to find the unfortunate soul they had to momentarily leave alone. They run into each other on the road and recognize one another immediately. Do they mention their acts of kindness or blatant recognition? NO.

Maybe one day in the future they mention being saved by a mermaid/odd green fairy. Do they piece together each other’s stories? Maybe…

I’m too tired to try and write an actual Drabble, but I think Dapper made it onto the boat with the elytra

Imagine with me:

The last we saw from bbh’s pov was Dapper pearling away. I imagine he makes it to a high point and uses the elytra, flying after the boat. He starts losing momentum and remembers his firework, which he uses just in time. It’s just enough to propel him fast enough to catch up. He crash lands onto the deck hard but everyone takes care of him.

Poor Dapper is absolutely distraught, more than anyone has ever seen him. He’s disoriented and hurt from months of running and being kidnapped. He hit the deck hard enough to hurt himself but he’s safe at the cost of his Father, siblings, and the rest of his family.

I imagine he’s inconsolable but everyone is able to take care of him.

I can’t explain it at all but q!Philza gives me crunchy mom energy, helicopter mom vibes (in a funny way I swear) looking on in horror as Tubbo feeds Sunny red dye 40

I hope so bad that there’s more bbh centric fanfics in the future 😭
