these two are very similar, but canon doesn’t do much at all to make their connection obvious.

they both have a very simple driving force for everything they do. for katsuki, it’s his desire for victory. for himiko, it’s her uncontrollable tendency to love. they’re both unapologetic about their motives and they take pride in it. they’re both in love with izuku.

now back to the above panel. “this sort of deviant behavior is common in children with powerful quirks.” another similarity—those motivations they have in life aren’t socially acceptable. also, they have incredibly overpowered quirks.

but what does this society value more, power, or normalcy? power. always.

so, in the eyes of the society meant to raise them, katsuki’s raw power outweighs his pissy attitude.

but the stakes were higher for himiko. explosion can easily be used in manner that doesn’t harm people—katsuki demonstrates that often. transform, on the other hand, relies on blood, which is much easier obtained by harming someone rather than finding other sources.

little himiko couldn’t help but to love so deeply. but when those around her chose to antagonize that rather than praise her for it, she chose to wield her knife with hatred, not love. society didn’t want to put the effort into helping himiko. i don’t think their stance would’ve changed much if she’d intended to be a hero like katsuki.

so, in this universe, there exists a fine line between those praised for how they were born, and those antagonized for how they were born.

Chapter 431 analysis. why everyone drew the wrong conclusions.

When the first spoiler frames from the volume came out, hell on earth began, some shippers rejoiced at the canonization, others cursed Horikoshi. I was initially going to say that all these wishes of dirty things towards the author are very ugly: at first, when 430 came out, the Katsudeku shippers rejoiced, and the Izuochi shippers wrote Horikoshi curses, and now it's the opposite, and I would like to ask him to behave decently.
