You want to know why Inigo Montoya remains such an iconic and beloved character even 35 years after the Princess Bride came out?
It's because he's one of the few characters in fiction who has a story where he has dedicated his life to revenge, his whole motivation is about getting revenge....and he gets it! and then he isn't empty or despairing! he doesn't regret it! he's totally satisfied!
because so many stories about revenge or rage are about characters "seeing the futility of their actions" or learning "their desire for revenge has only made them the monsters they hated" FUCK THAT.
Inigo Montoya kills the man who kills his father, is allowed to live in the narrative after and be happy about it and it is so satisfying. it's fantastic. it's iconic.
let more characters rage against the world, bring it down with bloodied hands, and let them be FUCKING RIGHT about it. Let them celebrate their success with sharp grins, and let them live happy, full lives where they always remain proud/fulfilled for what they've done

I could literally fill oceans with the love I have for you.
A power is on the earth and in the air, From which the vital spirit shrinks afraid, And shelters him in nooks of deepest shade, From the hot steam and from the fiery glare. Look forth upon the earth—her thousand plants Are smitten; even the dark sun-loving maize Faints in the field beneath the torrid blaze; The herd beside the shaded fountain pants; For life is driven from all the landscape brown; The bird hath sought his tree, the snake his den, The trout floats dead in the hot stream, and men Drop by the sunstroke in the populous town: As if the Day of Fire had dawned, and sent Its deadly breath into the firmament.

i dont know who needs to hear this but you dont constantly need to be buying clothes.
fast fashion is problematic because its unsustainable, not tailored to all body types, and fails to pay workers (mostly women of color)
thrifting too much is problematic because it deprives the lower class of “trendier” items. this happens because girls who can afford more expensive clothes are buying them, making minor adjustments, and marking the price way up on depop. its gentrifying thrifting and making it hard for the lower class to find clothes. yes thrifting overall is a nice alternative to fast fashion but it can be overdone.
the better option is to keep clothing for as long as possible and repair it when its damaged. accept hand me down clothes. if a piece is needed for an occasion try to borrow it from someone. swap clothing to prevent being tired of it. also i acknowledge my privilege that i can afford to make my own clothes, so i will. i will learn to repair and make clothing out of sustainable fabrics.
sustainability isnt a one size fits all. acknowledge your situation and figure out what works best for you. oh and stop selling items you thrifted and added glitter to for way more than theyre worth on depop.
LIKE WHY ARE WE PITTING TWO BAD BITCHES AGAINST EACH OTHER??? 😭 They both have their pros and cons, and at the end of the day, I like them both :”)
I think: this is what I will miss. I think: how long do we have?

Ariel and Eric invented “x fell first but y fell harder because yes Ariel fell in love with Eric first but that boy took one look at the strange quiet girl petting his dog and letting him infodump and immediately started thinking about wedding colors
“[Donna, Martha, Rose, Jack, Sarah Jane and Mickey] were all created to show off Doctor Who’s central premise: the world and the universe is wonderful, ordinary people can do great things, and the human race survives.”

when mitski said ‘and I was so young when I behaved 25, but now I find I’ve grown into a tall child’, and when marina said ‘I can’t open up and cry ‘cause I’ve been silent all my life’ and when anne carson said ‘to feel anything deranges you. to be seen feeling anything strips you naked. in the grip of pleasure or pain doesn’t matter’ and when when lorde ‘what about the kid? it’s time the kid got free’ and hozier said ‘i need to be youthfully felt ‘cause God, I never felt young’ and adele said ‘everybody tells me it’s ‘bout time I moved on, and I need to learn to lighten up and learn how to be young’ and when benjamin alira saenz said ‘I’d been born knowing to hide what I felt’ and then later ‘summer was supposed to be about freedom and youth and no school and possibilities and adventure and exploration. summer was a book of hope’ and then also ‘she summer sun was not meant for boys like me. boys like me belonged to the rain.’ anyway
