Elijah loved events like this, especially when it came to a masquerade theme. He was walking around and came across the boys and girls club donation table and he could see that someone was there contemplating. Elijah was always one to donate to a cause because he didn’t mind helping out someone else if he could.

As he reached out and grabbed his own form to fill out to donate he heard the man talking about how much he should donate and if what he was donating was enough and he nodded his head. “Of course. Anything is better than not donating! Five dollars can make a big difference to someone. Plus is everyone here donated five dollars there would be a lot of damn money in there.” He explained to the other person.

Leo tilted his head to the side, a incredulous look upon his hidden face as he looked at the other man. It wasn’t the appalled response that he was always fishing for. His visible mouth pulled up into a wrinkled side smirk. “Sorry, I didn’t realize I’ve bumped to the legendary, Mr. Brightside.” He lightheartedly teased and he fought the urge to mentally play The Killers’ song in his head. “Truth of the matter is, all these donations are probably just going to be used for this party.” He gestured to the grandness surrounding them. Like a disgruntled child, he just had to show the other what exactly was behind the curtain.

“You’re a fucking disaster.” As much as he loved his friend, and he truly did, he didn’t think he was wrong either. He’d stand by Leo even when he was wrong, which he probably often was. “You underestimate my ability to press charges,” he walked away to get him water before returning, ruffling his hair. Chaotic energy just happened to find Katz, as if he didn’t attract it himself.

Leo rolled his eyes as Katz’ badmouthed him, he didn’t take it seriously at all, and knew his friend didn’t mean it maliciously. he loved the chaotic vibe they created as it was brought his drunk ass to Katz’ home. Though there was an absence of his other friend which happened to be Katz’ ex. Leo laughed at Katz response to his empty threat. “You know that’s something Oli would totally say.” Leo said, forgetting that talking about ex-husbands were off limits in polite, civil conversations.

Ines understood that therapy could be a scary process. In fact, many of her clients had been too intimidated to truly be vulnerable with her at first. It was a normal occurrence. But this? This behaviour had been anything but that. No amount of patience and gentle encouragement seemed to resonate with the man sat before her. Perhaps somebody less willing would have simply referred he and his wife to another psychologist. But the farther he seemed to act out, the more it only made Ines want to see things through. Joke’s on him.

“Mm,” the woman acknowledged his statement with a hum, lips pursed and eyes staring into his with the same intensity he had given her, “Surely there is. You’re here, aren’t you? Realistically, there’s nobody forcing you to show up to these appointments.” She leant back in her seat, much like he had. “So, tell me Leo. Why is it that you continue to?”

He stroked his beard as his mind was beginning to picture the drink he was surely going to have later tonight. Of course, it’d be a drink he’d have after telling his wife a little white lie about how this session went. That was until he heard her speak again. He thought his intensity would keep her from speaking again, but he did throw her a bone. And with the way their gaze had met again, he could tell that she was about to launch it right back at him. Especially with the way she mimicked his posture, he tried not to smirk. “Realistically,” he stole her term, “I do have someone forcing me to show up.” His face pulling up at the word as he said it condescendingly. He brought his hand down from his chin, and he looked over at the empty spot on the couch. The same spot his wife would occupy in their coupled sessions. A part of him wished she was there with him, her image was warm in his head, until it was overthrown by one of her openly complaining about him. Then his expression hardened as he looked back at Ines once again. “She is why I continue these stupid meetings. She believes your psycho babble is helping.” He said, sitting up and gesturing to his own temple as he mocked psychology as a whole.

Mia tilted her head a bit, “Alright, if you’re okay with it then.” she smiled. He was right, it was an act and it didn’t mean anything but an act. She had to remember that no matter how great the kiss was. She couldn’t honestly remember the last time she had been kissed like that. She couldn’t remember the last time she had any fun with a guy at all. Work had kept her so busy that she hadn’t any time to go out with friends or meet new guys. Though, the one she shared a part with tends to linger in her head from time to time. As she heard him speak again, “Right the drink.” she chuckled and made her way over to the bar. She bent over a bit to speak to the bartender, ordering two drinks for them to start with. She made her order of what she wanted then looked over at Leo, “What would you like to drink?” she asked for the bartender.

Leo let out of breath, and it was more of one of relief. He didn’t have to go to far to convince this stranger that their kiss didn’t mean anything. At least, it didn’t mean anything romantically, but he couldn’t deny the way it made his flesh feel. But he knew he had to behave, no matter how beautiful this woman was. He never seized to become attracted. He followed behind her fighting the urge to watch her shape with each step. Then finally they were at the bar.

“A whiskey sour, to start with,” he smirked, wording it in such a way because he clearly wanted his well deserved second drink. Though it felt nice fo put on an act outside of a classroom. A game of improv with actual stakes. Isn’t that what life already was? Leo’s gaze followed the back of the bartender and they went off to make their respective drinks. Leo looked back at the new siren in his life and leaned against the counter. “So, I’m guessing this is the part where I ask for your name?” He asked, his cheeks and brows lifting in a comical manner.

starter for: @martinanselmo where: martin’s casa

Leo was intrigued by this next client, mostly because of how the arrangement came to be. It wasn’t normal to receive a call from a manager that wasn’t tied to an actor. And the ink on his paycheck had stated otherwise. He remembered the call and how he tried to argue that a speech class would probably be best. But Leo’s argument fell short when the deal of multiple sessions were brought up. He could certainly use the money.

That’s how he ended up in front of a tall door, in front of a townhouse on the northside of Manhattan. Though Leo would debate his townhouse looked a lot better on the outside than this one did. He adjusted his leather messenger bag on his shoulder before knocking. He was perfectly on time, Washington Heights was a reasonable twenty minutes from home today. He even had time to stop for a coffee. Evident by the greek blue cup in his other hand. He looked at the still unopened door before deciding to down the last of the cup’s contents.

closed starter: @averydawson where: avery’s apartment

image

“Aaaaay...” Leo’s voice drawled out the first syllable of Avery’s name. He repeated the vowel from his seated position in front of Avery’s apartment door. His posture was slack against the wood. His muscles so loose with the amount of alcohol he had consumed to rid himself of his guilt. It took sixteen shots to do so. He repeated the vowel again meaning to be louder but instead reached a much higher pitch. It reminded him of a song a particular song from the sixties called, Sherry by Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons. He tried to reach the falsetto once again using Avery’s name in place of Sherry’s as he began to sing the song. “Aaaaa-AAA-ver-yyyy, can you come out tonight?” He practically screech sang in the empty hall.
