Midoriya was given an undercover mission. Midoriya disappeared one week in, somewhere in the mess. Todoroki and Bakugo were sent in to try and find Midoriya. While it was clear sending them in was a bad idea, the hero commission pushed it anyways.
Bakugo didnât want to go simply because it was Midoriyaâs mission and if he was undercover of course heâd cut contact. Todoroki on the other hand didnât want to go in case this messed up the mission on Midoriyaâs side. If they made one wrong move, it could be the death of Midoriya.
Itâs takes them a week to find Midoriya. It was exceptionally hard because of his disguise as a white-haired woman in her late twenties. Midoriya had a quirk physically change his body composition as well. His scars, freckles, and other notable featureâs were changed. The most important part was Midoriya was given a female reproductive system, breasts and all. While the goal was to slim down the body to hide muscle, Midoriya retained all the strength he currently possessed. Midoriya was a walking grim reaper in disguise.
They managed to infiltrate the building they tracked Midoriya down to. Their goal was to locate him and report his progress back to the hero commission. When they got into the security systems, they spotted Midoriya on the screen.
Midoriya sat stone-faced in his desk chair, no ounce of kindness present in his features. Todoroki and Bakugo shivered at the sight. Sitting in a chair before the desk was an attractive man around Midoriyaâs scripted age. The man was a stepping stone for Midoriya, a gateway to the main target.
It seemed as if they missed a chunk of the conversation, but they managed to come in at a good time.
âHow about you just tell me what you want?â grunted the man, leaning back in his seat.
Midoriyaâs posture remained steady. His legs crossed and his hands were clasped, resting on his knee. His expression did not falter as he said what he wanted. âFifty-fifty.â
Bakugo and Todoroki were momentarily taken aback by the clear change in voice. It was oddly fitting. Not to high, not too low. It was strong, but the tone of his voice was bored.
The man chuckled, rubbing his eyes. Midoriya didnât like that reaction, his eyes darkening as he glared at the man. âAs I am assuming youâre buying the shitty stuff⊠with your typical drug dealer markup. The margin of your profits should be about five times as much as I make drugging people under the pretense Iâm a slutty prostitute.â
Todoroki paused, his gaze snapping to Bakugoâs. Neither were filled in on what Midoriyaâs backstory was to his fake persona. They did not know Midoriya was a âprostituteâ and âdrugging peopleâ to make money. In a way, neither could believe Midoriya was capable of playing such a difficult role. Midoriya never once seemed like the type of person to take up a gig such as the one he was currently participating in.
âIf itâs not⊠somethingâs wrong. Iâd be more than happy to offer my services to fix it,â offered Midoriya. His tone was strict and demanding. His gaze was sharp and piercing and he knew how to use his tongue to his advantage.
The man smirked slightly, staring at Midoriya. Todoroki and Bakugo werenât blind, they could see the fool undressing Midoriya with his eyes. Midoriya didnât flash an eye, not giving any attention to the mans advances. Midoriya had a goal and no drug-lord was getting into his pants.
âYou know⊠Ruma. You look good behind that desk,â complimented the man, revealing Midoriyaâs fake name.
Midoriya gaze remained the same, not feeding into his fantasies by showing interest. âThank you.â
Giving Midoriya a look up and down, the man smirked slightly as he spoke. âDamn⊠youâd look so much better on top of it.â
Bakugo and Todorokiâs breaths hitched. This fucker was horny and wanted to fuck Midoriya on that desk at that very moment. There was no denying he had intentions of screwing around with Midoriya. In a way, Todoroki and Bakugo couldnât blame him. Theyâd never pass up a chance to fuck their crush.
Midoriyaâs eyes were like a predatorâs, remaining focused on itâs prey. âWe have a deal?â
The man bit his lip slowly as he looked at Midoriya and then back to the top of the desk. He subtly nodded, seeming too eager to get laid.
âYeah. Yeah. We are good⊠precious,â flirted the man, his voice deep and husky.
As much as Midoriya wanted to ignore it, the seduction was working a bit. There was something so arousing about knowing someone wanted to wreck him like a beast. Despite the urge to gain friction between his legs, Midoriya knew he needed to continue playing hard to get. If he gave himself up to this man, the chase would be over and Midoriya would find himself in cold water.
Midoriyaâs poker face worked like a charm. The man looked increasingly more aroused with every time his advances got rejected. Getting up from the seat, Midoriya smiled softly.
âPleasure doing business with you,â finalized Midoriya, ending the conversation swiftly. Midoriya fixed the skirt of his dress before readjusting his hold on his purse.
Todorokiâs eyes slowly opened and closed, staring at Midoriya with an expressionless face. Bakugoâs eyes widened, giving Midoriya a double take. His hand reached up to cover his mouth as he continued to look Midoriya up and down.
Midoriya was in a skin-tight black dress. It was a square-neck with spaghetti-straps. The side of the dress had a slit going all the up to Midoriyaâs hip. Once Midoriya stepped towards the door, his bright red stilettos were as clear as day.
Todoroki and Bakugo didnât have much to report back to the hero commission after they stealthily escaped. All they could say was that Midoriya was alive and nailing his undercover roll. Midoriya even got them feeling intimidated and excited simultaneously. Midoriya would be back in no time.
CW! abortion, abuse, slight smut at the end
Izuku was bullied ever since he was a child. He never understood why he was picked out of everyone. Katsuki, Izuku's supposed best friend, turned his back on him. Katsuki became Izukuâs main bully. It soon was clear why he was thrown in the trash considering Bakugo started saying it to his face a dozen times a day. Izuku was quirkless.
From elementary school all the way to their final year in junior high, Katsuki bullied Izuku. Katsuki got everyone to hate Izuku. Izuku was isolated and never given a chance to have a friend or social life. He didnât mind it. Heâd rather be alone. No one caught his attention. Everyone was boring, following the rest of the herd mindlessly.
When Izuku was in his third year of junior high, one fateful day broke him. Izuku was physically attacked, humiliated, and then suicide bated. Izuku fell into a severe depressive episode that lasted months. Izuku never really recovered from it. Inko unenrolled Izuku from Aldera Junior High, sued the school, and cut all connections with the Bakugoâs.
Izuku fell behind in his studies, causing him to fall short of the requirements to attend UAâs entry exam. Izuku was devastated and fell into an even worse mental state. Inko didn't know what to do and had Izuku get hospitalized for his own safety. Unfortunately, she made the wrong decision and he only got worse.
Izuku felt like no one wanted him around, that he was a bother. Izuku couldn't find one thing to live for other than his mother. If his mother sent him away because he was crazy, he no longer had anything to keep him alive. While he was unresponsive for a bit at the hospital, he realized he needed to fake being happy to get out. Izuku got out in no time. The doctors hated wasting resources on a quirkless person.
Izuku started up his life at a regular high school, nothing elite like the prestigious hero school U.A. High. Izuku didnât know anyone so it was easy to live a comfortable life. He wasnât bullied, he didnât draw attention to himself, and had a couple of "friends". Izuku often studies with them, but their relationship was strictly only friends. It wasnât until their school festival that Izuku met his demise.
The monster in disguise was a handsome boy. His name was Sugiyama Tomo. He was first person to ever flirt or hit on Izuku. Izuku, not knowing the first thing about relationships, fell into the trap. Izuku had no siblings to confide in. Izukuâs father died when he was a child so he had nothing to use as an example. Izuku never had a boyfriend before, let alone friends. It was easy for him to fall in love with the first person who showed interest in him.
Izuku and Tomo had a very one-sided relationship. Izuku never noticed because how was he supposed to know. Izuku was used to being yelled at and hit. It never really raised red flags for him. Izuku happily let Tomo do whatever he pleased. It didn't take long for Tomo to make sexual advances. Izuku never knew much about sex considering Inko never gave him the talk, so he allowed it to happen.
When Izuku began to have sex, Tomo had a field day when he saw Izuku was intersex. Tomo heard a myth that intersex people were infertile and never once brought up using protection. There were no contraceptives being used as they were sexually active every day. It was only a matter of time before Izuku was pregnant.
It happened so fast. Izuku didnât know exactly when an egg was fertilized, but he soon started noticing strange occurrences. Izukuâs flat chest grew sore and tender. His nipples darkened to a brown shade, unlike the usual dark pink. Izuku mentioned it to his mother, worried something was going in with his breasts. Inko took him to the hospital, scared about what could be happening.
When Izuku was taken into the office, he explained what he had noticed. It seemed the doctor instantly noticed the symptoms and began asking somewhat specific questions. After questioning, Izuku was led to a bathroom for a urine sample. Inko and Izuku thought nothing of it. Urine samples were very common. When the doctor came back after fifteen minutes, he had news.
âI know whatâs the cause of these sudden bodily changes,â revealed the adult, seeming a lot more relaxed after figuring out what was going on.
Inko and Izuku were tightly holding onto one another, preparing for the worst. âWhatâs going on with my child?â
âWell, according to the urine sample, Izuku here appears to be pregnant.â
Inkoâs eyes widened in mortification. Izuku passed out. As much as Inko was horrified that Izuku was sexually active, she had to swallow down the invasive questions and anger. Inko couldnât blame Izuku, she knew he had been in a bad spot and really loved the guy he was with. It was clear Izuku was maturing and would be getting sexual. Part of her role as a parent was to be a guide and an influence. She had done nothing to prepare Izuku for the risks of having sex.
That night when Izuku visited Tomo at their usual time, Izuku ended up breaking the news to Tomo. While Izuku found excitement in being pregnant, Tomo saw the end of the world. Izuku had something to live for and Tomo saw it as the end of his freedom. It didnât take much for Tomo to manipulate and convince Izuku to abort the baby. Tomo told Izuku that they had all the time in the world and didnât need to rush anything. They were still young and shouldnât be held down by a baby. He didn't even try to sound understanding or sympathetic.
While Tomo said it just to avoid responsibility, Izuku was deeply wounded by those words. Izuku felt invalidated and begun crying. Izuku was worried Tomo didnât love him enough to want to have a baby. The sad thing was Tomo saw Izuku as nothing more than a sex toy. That night, Tomo's sex toy left early sobbing. Tomo screamed at him for leaving early and being overdramatic. Izuku blocked it out, too overwhelmed by despair.
Inko was shocked Izuku wanted an abortion but decided if Izuku said he wanted an abortion, he could get an abortion. Izuku was young and the baby would be at risk due to his age. Izukuâs body would never be the same. Neither of them was financially stable to take care of a baby. Izuku still had high school to attend and heâd have to drop out to take care of the kid since Inko couldnât afford daycare and they had no family. Izuku's entire life would be on hold if he chose to have the baby.
Izuku arrived at the hospital and sat down in the waiting area. Izuku was trembling, picking at his cuticles as his anxiety spiked. While Izuku and Inko were waiting for "Izuku" to be called out, a small group entered the hospital. The small group consisted of Katsuki, Eijiro, Ochako, and Aizawa. They had just wrapped up a villain attack and heading to the hospital was a shorter trip than going back to U.A. for healing. The four also had civilians they also wanted to check on.
Katsuki noticed Izuku and Inko and his body froze against his will. The three with him noticed his strange pause and looked at where he was looking. Ochako and Eijiro teased Katsuki, thinking he was in love. Aizawa, on the other hand, saw the panicked look on Katsukiâs face and knew it was something else entirely.
Inko was looking at Izuku with a worried expression, concerned about what was going through her precious childâs head. Izuku never once looked at her, staring straight ahead with a blank expression. Katsuki watched, wondering what was going on.
âMidoriya Izuku?â
Izuku got up and Inko watched him leave. Izuku walked straight toward the doctor at the door and Inko watched him disappear. Sheâd be called back once the operation was finished. All she could do was hang her head in her own shame.
Katsuki and Aizawa had no injuries so neither had to go back. The estimated wait was fifteen minutes for Ochako and Eijiro to get taken back. Ochako took thirty minutes and Eijiro also took thirty minutes, they were taken back separately so in total Aizawa and Katsuki were sitting there for an hour and a half. Inko was called back at the thirty-minute mark.
Eijiro was still gone by the time Izuku returned with Inko. Izukuâs face was a wet mess. His eyes were puffy from crying. His nose was red from repeatedly wiping his runny nose. Inko squeezed Izukuâs hand and whispered to him.
âHow do you feel?â
Midoriya couldnât hold back the silent tears as he quickly glanced at his mother before looking away again. âBetter.â
Katsuki couldnât do it anymore, he rose to his feet and made his way over.
âAunty. Izuku,â called out Katsuki.
The two snapped their heads over, not noticing the voice at first. Izuku looked over and was met with a worried Katsuki.
âKacchan?â
Inko scowled, still hostile when it came to the boy who tormented her son.
âAre you okay? What are you doing here?â questioned Katsuki, clearly distressed for Izukuâs wellbeing.
Izuku looked at his feet, unable to face Katsuki. âThatâs⊠private.â
Katsuki nodded, backing off. âAlright⊠uhâshit. Youâre okay though right? Youâre not dying are you?â
Izuku shook his head, finally finding some confidence to look Katsuki in the eyes. âOf course Iâm okay. Since when have you cared if Iâm okay or not?â
Katsukiâs cheeks heated up at the direct reference to his bullying. Pushing past the guilt that hit him, he had a more important goal to achieve. âFuck, Izuku. I know you donât want to hear it, but you deserve to have it said to you.â
Katsuki dropped to his knees and bowed at Izukuâs feet. âIâm so sorry Izuku. I am sorry for everything Iâve done to you. I was a horrible person and I treated you horribly. I donât deserve to be a hero, but every single day you are the reason why I try to be better. I want to be a hero worthy of your forgiveness.â
Izuku felt his eyes widen. His cheeks heated up at the dramatic apology in the middle of a hospital waiting room. âKacchan.â
Katsuki looked up and took Izukuâs hand. âYou donât have to say anything. Donât feel obligated to just because we have a crowd. The world deserves to know what kind of person I had been. I have to work to earn your trust and kindness again. And if you never want to see again, thatâs perfectly fine and Iâll get out of your sight.â
âYou idiot,â cried Izuku, too much happening all at once.
Katsuki ended up having to help escort Izuku home after making him faint. Inko softened up, seeing the sincerity in Katsukiâs words. Sheâd tolerate Katsuki until Izuku gave her a sign if he wanted Katsuki around or not.
Izuku unblocked Katsuki and promised to catch up with him soon. Katsuki and Izuku often hung out, feeling their natural bond come back together. Katsuki even managed to get Nezu interested in Izuku by accident. Nezu was one to snoop and caught Katsuki on the phone with someone dishing out incredible hero analysis.
Nezu brought Katsuki into his office and obtained the information of Izuku Midoriya. Two weeks later Izuku transferred to U.A. as Nezuâs personal student. Izuku was moved into Heights Alliance shortly after considering U.A. was a boarding school after an incident during Katsukiâs first year.
Izuku was allowed to pick which building he wanted to stay in and chose 2-A, the building Katsuki was staying in. Katsuki was ecstatic the moment he saw Izuku walk in his bags. Izuku was soon adopted into the class 2-A family. Izuku took a liking Uraraka, Tsuyu, Iida, Todoroki, Momo, and Tokoyami. Of course, Izuku got along well with Katsukiâs friends but he had a group of his own.
Since moving into the dorms, it didnât take long for people to find out about Izuku's abusive relationship. Izuku would leave at least four times a week and be gone for hours. He had permission from Nezu to leave so no one questioned it for the most part. The thing that did catch their attention was that Izuku always came back a wreck and seemed beyond lifeless. Sometimes at night Izukuâs neighbors, Aoyama and Mineta, along with the person above him, Kaminari, could hear screaming over the phone in his room.
Katsuki, Mina, Sero, Kirishima, Jiro, and Momo overheard Kaminari talking to Izuku. They had been in the middle of a gaming competition. Izuku came down to grab some water when Kaminari suddenly got up to talk to him in the kitchen. While the game was on pause, they could hear the two from where they were sitting.
Kaminari addressed what he had been hearing and how he was worried. Izuku laughed it off saying his boyfriend was upset Izuku couldnât make it the night before. Kaminari mentioned how heâs heard it multiple times and Izuku admitted it was an often occurrence. Kaminari was growing increasingly worried, confused about why Midoriya wouldnât stand up for himself. Staying in U.A. dorms was for his safety and his boyfriend should respect that. Izuku could only respond and say how they used to spend almost all day, every day together so he wasnât handling it well.
The group never asked about it, knowing it wasnât their business. It was about two weeks later, Kaminari was hosting a mini party in his room. Katsuki, Mina, Kirishima, and Sero were all sitting around and talking about how they just found out Aizawa and Hizashi were married. Their light conversation was interrupted by muffled yelling. It was clear it was coming from Izukuâs room.
They couldnât make out everything, but they heard enough to know Izukuâs boyfriend was, at the least, verbally abusive. It didnât take a smart person to figure that out. Katsuki knew he had a big enough influence on Izuku that heâd be able to get through to him.
When Katsuki walked into Izukuâs room five minutes into listening to the Tomo screaming, he took the phone from Izukuâs hand. âHey! Go bitch to some other fucking extra!â
Izuku looked mortified that Katsuki had not only entered his room unannounced, but he had heard everything. Not only did Katsuki hear everything, but he just yelled at Tomo. Katsuki then did something even worse and hung up on Tomo. To Izuku, it was a blessing in disguise. Katsuki sat the phone down and glared at Izuku.
âDump that asshole. He clearly doesnât love you. No one should ever fucking talk to you like that,â hissed Katsuki, his piercing gaze burning Izuku.
What Katsuki didnât expect was for Izuku to explain everything. The day Katsuki reunited with Izuku was the most painful day of his life.
âWait⊠you were what? Pregnant? How the hell?â
âIâm intersex. I have female and male reproductive genitalia. I identify as male and prefer if people only ever knew me as biological male,â explained Izuku, shooting Katsuki a scary look to show he was serious.
Katsuki raised his hands in defense. âChill out nerd. Itâs not my place to say anything anyways. Well, that explains the pregnant part. Now⊠what youâre telling me is he pressured you into an abortion?â
Izuku nodded, feeling idiotic now that it was being said out loud by Katsuki. Even if he was pressured into it, getting the abortion was for the best. Izuku was so miserable that he couldnât see how badly it wouldâve been if he kept the child. The main reason being his mental state. Izuku was no where near stable enough to care for a child.
âYes. He did. But I wouldnât be where I was if I kept the child. I would be miserable right now. I would have believed I made the right choice, but I wouldnât be happy. Besides... Tomo wouldâve left me,â admitted Izuku, meeting Katsukiâs gaze.
âWell fuck that guy anyways. You donât need trash like him. You have family now and people who actually care about your thoughts and feelings,â remarked Katsuki, leaning back in Izukuâs chair.
Izuku's expression fell into something of a weak and discouraged frown. âIâll leave him. Iâm tired of the yelling.â
Katsuki nodded, getting off the chair to jump onto Izuku. Izuku screeched as Katsuki's body slammed him into the bed. Izuku fell into a fit of laughter because of the gremlin glint in Katsukiâs eyes as he jumped. Katsuki laid on top of Izuku, crushing him. Izuku didnât mind it, finding the weight comforting.
âCan you stay the night? I donât want to be alone,â asked Izuku, despite expecting rejection.
âI was going to do that anyways. Itâs my bedtime,â grunted Katsuki, tugging the sheets over them.
Izuku and Katsukiâs phones lay on the floor as their sleepy cuddle pile took up all the space on the bed. Izuku melted like butter with Katsukiâs natural body heat. Katsuki subconsciously intertwined their limbs, hugging Izuku close. Katsuki never felt more comfortable in his life. The sweet, earthy scent of Izukuâs hair and the softness of his skin.
The following day, Izuku announced to the class he was going to be back soon and that he was dumping his boyfriend. Izuku came back disheveled and bloody knuckles. Everyone scrambled over to make sure he was okay. All Izuku could do was raise his fists with a smile.
âHe tried to kiss me so I broke his teeth.â
No one had any complaints with that. Momo created some items to treat Izukuâs wounds. Everyone huddled around, beyond proud of his improved confidence. It took a lot of strength to break things off with the person whoâs been psychologically and physically abusing you for the past year and a half. Izuku knew he needed to defend himself and that was exactly what he did.
Izuku obtained his hero license the following year with the rest of the third years. While he was the same kind of hero as Nezu, Izuku was invited by Katsuki to make an agency with him. Two more years passed and Katsuki asked out Izuku. By then, Izuku was flourishing and living his best life. For the decade of pain, the infinite future of good to come made it very much worth it.
Izuku went from no friends to a handful of amazing friends. He let his abusive boyfriend go with a strong punch to the face to gain a perfect boyfriend who treated him like a prince. He went from a nobody in the middle of nowhere to a popular hero.
Izuku entered his home, pulling off his shoes at the door. The smell of strong spices filled the house. Katsuki came over, wiping off his hands with a towel.
âYouâre late.â
Izukuâs lip wobbled at the sight of Katsuki. Tears pooled up in his eyes and spilled out, onto his cheeks. Katsuki knew in a second that Izuku had a rough day. Katsuki pulled Izuku into his arms without hesitation. Izuku cried, soaking up the comfort of his boyfriend.
âIs it the mission youâve been working on?â softly asked Katsuki.
Izuku nodded, hiding his face in the crook of Katsukiâs neck. âMhmm.â
âCommon. Iâve finished dinner,â huffed Katsuki, gently sliding his hand down Izukuâs palm to intertwine their fingers.
They ate in comfortable silence. Izuku never let go of Katsukiâs hand, using his left hand to eat instead. Katsuki never complained, letting Izuku hold his hand as much as he wanted.
When they wrapped up eating, they cleaned up together. There werenât any words that needed to be said. Katsuki guided Izuku to the bathroom and started a warm bath. Katsuki massaged shampoo into Izukuâs hair and rubbed out the ache in Izukuâs upper and lower back.
Izuku needed more of Katsuki, making a move to begin kissing him. Katsuki reciprocated the kiss, feeling himself recharge as well. They spent a passionate night together. Relishing in the feeling of being connected, making love with all the passion their bodies possessed. Izuku never took his eyes off of Katsuki. Katsuki never took his eyes off of Izuku.
Katsuki laid on Izuku, pressing him into the bed with his heavy body. Izuku loved the feeling, kissing Katsukiâs jaw.
âIâm so grateful for you, Izuku.â
âMe too. Iâm really happy you found me.â
âGod I love you. So beautiful. So perfect. So sexy. So powerful.â
Izuku fell into a fit of laughter, drowned in kisses. âKacchan! I love you too! Hahaâstop! Kacchan!â
Izuku never felt more loved in his life, his heart full of the love Katsuki showered him in. Izuku woke up the next morning, caressing the sun-kissed skin of Katsuki. Izuku brushed a thumb over Katsukiâs eyelashes and the scars that decorated his skin.
Youâre the last person I thought I would end up with, but I wouldnât trade you for anything. Youâre the only one who sees me.
Midoriya was sitting on couch, wrapped up in a blanket as he read his online All Might comic. This was his usual routine as he waited for his mom to return home. Suddenly there was the knock on the door. Midoriya jumped up, assuming his mother got groceries on her way home and needed him to open the door.
Without bothering to look through the peephole, Midoriya threw open the door with a wide smile. âYouâre back! Need me to help with-?â
Upon opening his eyes, he was met with a kind looking man standing beside what appeared to be his teenage son. Midoriya turned bright red, visibly embarrassed as he bowed.
âI apologize! What may I help you two with?â
The father brightly smiled as he introduced himself. âDonât worry about it kid. We are your new neighbours. We moved into the apartment next door.â
âOh! It is lovely meeting you! My name is Izuku Midoriya, I apologize but my mother is currently at work!â
The father smiled, happy with such a kind boy as his neighbour. âItâs alright! The names Takada, Takada Shirogane. This is my son Takada Ray.â
âWould you like to come in? I can get you water, tea, coffee, whatever you like. I can only imagine how tired you are from the whole moving process,â asked Midoriya kindly.
One thing led to another and the Midoriyaâs and the Takada family became friends. They tended to have meals together and both of the single parents got along and their only children got along as well.
Takada and Midoriya soon became best friends despite their quirk status and the two were quick to generate a plan. Takada somehow became friends with Bakugo. Just like that, Midoriya and Takada slowly ruined Bakugoâs life piece by piece. They were happy; But all good things come to an end.
Midoriya was walking home with Takada, they casually talked like usual and joked about how stupid the bullies were. Midoriya suddenly got a call from Inko.
âSorry Ray! My mom needs me for the night. Iâll see you tomorrow,â apologized Midoriya.
Takada seemed unnaturally relieved, looking at Midoriya with a smile. âAlright! See you tomorrow Izuku!â
Within fifteen minutes, Midoriya had gotten ready and left. One hour later, guests arrived at Takadaâs hourse. Four hours later, Midoriya comes back home alongside someone interning at Inkoâs work. The two were exhausted. Midoriya is met with the awful stench of alcohol, cigarettes, and the commotion inside Takadaâs apartment.
The guy looked at Midoriya confused. âAre your neighbourâs hosting a party?â
âYes, Ryu. They are,â hissed Midoriya angrily.
Ryu looked at Midoriya worriedly. âHey, hey. Whatâs wrong?â
Midoriya wiped the tears of anger off his face. âWhatâs wrong is that my supposed friend is a backstabbing piece of shit.â
âOh. Yeah no. No. Youâre confronting this asshole. Do it in front of everybody. Iâll be with you,â reassured Ryu confidently.
Midoriya, feeling empowered by his newly made friends presence, stormed up to the door. Pounding on the door, Midoriya quickly crossed his arms and tapped his foot.
The door swung open to reveal a laughing Takada. âHey, you got the drinks?â
âAre you drunk?â asked Midoriya disbelievingly.
Takada finally took the time to notice who was before him. As if all the alcohol he had drank suddenly disappeared, Takadaâs face droped.
âDekuâ Izukuâ I... itâs not what it looks like,â backtracked Takada immediately, or tried to.
The party inside immediately stopped. The moment Dekuâs name reached their ears, all attention was on the scene at the door.
âOh god,â sighed Takada absentmindedly.
Midoriya smiled, the anger apparent in his eyes. âYou dirty little liar.â
âIâm sorry! I can explain!â Takada urgently started.
âOh, explain how you didnât tell me you were having a party?â retorted Midoriya sassily.
Ryu nodded, backing up Midoriya. âYou tell him Izuku!â
Takada, seeming to forget the entire group in his home behind him, tried explaining himself. âYou know I couldnât invite you! I had to pretend to hate you!â
Midoriya laughed, tears slowly forming in his eyes. âI didnât say invite me! I said you never even told me! Pfffâ buddy. Youâre not pretending anymore. Youâre two faced. A cold, and heartless, two faced bitch.â
Ryu noticed all the people inside watching in surprise. Ryu scoffed, turning his attention back to Midoriya.
Midoriya narrowed his eyes, deciding on mocking Takada. âAre you having an awesome time? Are you drinking awesome shooters and listening to awesome music, and sitting around and soaking up each others awesomeness?â
âYou know what? Youâre the one who made me like this! Just so you could use me for your childhood revenge,â argued Takada, drunk and panicking, desperate to defend himself.
Midoriya, amazed with Takadaâs bullshit, raised his voice. âGod! See, at least me and Bakugo know weâre mean. You try to act like youâre so innocent likeâ oh I used to live in America with all the money and the lavish lifestyle!â
Takada snapped, yelling at Midoriya. âYou know itâs not my fault a useless, quirkless, shit like you is in love with me or something!â
There were multiple gasps heard from inside Takadaâs apartment. Midoriya shouted in anger, royally pissed off.
âWhat?â
Ryu looked ready to murder, his eye twitching. âOh no he did not!â
Midoriya stormed over to Takada and sent a hard punch into his nose. âFuck you!â
Takada flew back from the force. He knew his nose was definitely broken. Midoriya wiped off his hand in disgust.
âSee! Thatâs the thing with you bullies! You act like youâre the best but everyone fucking hates you! Like, Bakugoâs right hand. He dumped his girlfriend and guess what! He still doesnât want you! So why are you still messing with them Takada?â
Looking at Midoriya in horror, Takada shook his head lost and mortified. Midoriya snapped, shouting out the thing dying to come out.
âIâll tell you why! Because you are a bad person! Youâre a bitch!â
The rest of the party all felt themselves gasp, genuinely surprised to see Midoriya so angry. Ryu still was glaring at Takada, beyond pissed with the performance the asshole made.
âI canât believe I actually thought I had finally made a friend for the first time in my life,â breathed out Midoriya in defeat.
Takada looked up at Midoriya in horror. The weight of what just happened finally hit him. âShit... shit, shit, shit. Izuku! Wait!â
Ryu suddenly stepped between the two, his glare harsh as he pushed Takada into the apartment and stepped in himself.
âEveryone in here! And I mean everyone. Fuck you. Izuku is the most hardworking and incredible person Iâve ever met! Not once had he needed a quirk to prove he was worth my time. You all are just assholes. Good luck having a future with the mindset you have you quirkist fucks.â
Walking over to Midoriya, Ryu gently ruffled his hair. âLetâs go. Youâll be staying the night at mine tonight. I donât want you home alone right now.â
Midoriya nodded, wiping his snot and tears with his shirt sleeve. âOkay.â
Grabbing his things, Midoriya left his house to see Bakugo had been waiting for him, along with the two other bullies.
âHey! Deku! The hell was that all about?â shouted Bakugo.
Midoriya turned around, wearing a wide smile. âOh, so everything thatâs suddenly been happening to you. Iâm the cause of it.â
Bakugo felt his frown turn into a taunting smile. âWhat?â
Midoriya walked right up to Bakugo, wearing a matching smirk. âKatsuki, my love. Thereâs a new sherif in town.â
Suddenly planting a passionate kiss on Katsukiâs lips, Midoriya felt everyone watch him in fear. Midoriya walked away with a bored expression, heading over to Ryu who wore a shit-eating grin.
âShit Izuku, youâre hella dope. Inko wasnât joking when she said she raised a wild one,â commented Ryu casually.
Midoriya looked up at Ryu with innocent eyes. âOf course she did. I learned everything from her. Why do you think I hate almost every guy I meet?â
âI just thought you were always hungry.â
âYeah... about that... no.â
âRight. Um, ready to go?â
âOh. Yeah, I am.â
âOkay, letâs go then. I guess.â
âMhmm.â
Midoriya awkwardly left with Ryu, leaving the now conflicted party behind. Takada was busy trying to figure out how to kick everyone out. The bullies were all staring with dropped jaws. Bakugo felt his face burn as the taste of Midoriyaâs strawberry chapstick taunted him.
âFucking Deku.â
Izuku Midoriya grew up believing he lived a good life. He was always full of energy, obsessed with the hero world, and desperately wanted to be friends with everyone.
One thing that set him apart from his peers was that his father was an interesting character. Inko and Hisashi Midoriya seemed to balance each other. Inko was sweet and stern. Hisashi was sour and childish. Izuku often used that to his advantage.
Hisashi was mostly absent from Izukuâs life. Sure, Hisashi was always around, but he never behaved the way a father should have. It seemed as if entertaining Izuku was nothing but a burden and an inconvenience. Given the task of receiving his fatherâs love, Izuku did anything in his power for an ounce of attention.
Fear of abandonment was the driving force of Izukuâs childhood. That followed him to his teen years.
Now that Izuku was attending the U.A. High, the best hero school in Japan, the âcracksâ in his perfect personality were on display. He took up a lot of the traits that made up his mother. He was sassy, goofy, nerdy, stubborn, compassionate, loving, and talkative.
When the first war hit and everyone was scrambling, it seemed that his upbringing came to a head.
If it had only been Inko in the picture, he could have consoled his crying mother before escaping U.A. High to take the target off the school. But Hisashi was also in the picture, and he was able to keep a better leash on his son.
For the first time in his life, Izuku wanted nothing more for Hisashi to avoid him again. Maybe Hisashi was just showing face for Inko. At least that was what Izuku was trying to convince himself.
With each hour that passed once he woke up, Izuku grew more antsy. He had already finished his goodbye letters to his classmates. On top of that, he talked to Toshinori, Gran Torino, and the pro heroes heâd be working alongside when he went on the run.
When news reached class 1-A that the pro heroes were going to be doing something and that Izuku was involved, the group decided to invade his hospital room. They had no plans of letting their friend go through this battle alone.
âThat idiot!â hissed Bakugo as he stormed down the hallway, leading the group of his classmates.
âWhy didnât he talk to us,â wondered Todoroki quietly, right on Bakugoâs heels.
Uraraka sighed, focusing on the door numbers. âThis is Deku we are talking about. He never talked about his troubles.â
Right beside Uraraka was Iida. He let out a huff as he commented, âItâs rather concerning that he's getting involved in something big and we arenât informed about it.â
âIâm sure everything will be okay once we talk to Midoriya guys,â reassured Kirishima, not believing what he was preaching.
âYeah! Midoriya is impulsive, but he wouldnât do something too reckless,â agreed Kaminari, feeling rather optimistic about the entire situation.
Jiro shook her head, mumbling, âThat has to be the dumbest thing youâve ever said. This is Midoriya we are talking about. Heâs always being reckless.â
Mina smiled at Jiro, feeling a bit better with the lighthearted banter. âLetâs just hope we can talk to him about what we have been hearing and get some answers.â
Less than ten seconds later they reach his room. Right as Bakugo was about to blast the door open, his anger vanished. Shouting could be heard from inside the room.
âWhat are you saying? We are in the middle of a war!â shouted Izuku.
The entire class quickly huddled by the door; Jiro used her quirk to help them eavesdrop as well.
âHere are some things a war needs Izuku. Conflict, stakes, a way to benefit, and clearly you staying here to rest and train for the inevitable second wave,â listed Hisashi in a couldnât-be-bothered tone.
âBut the villains are after me! Targeting the people I care about and eating babies,â argued Izuku, not understanding why Hisashi wasnât understanding.
Bakugo and Uraraka shared a confused and disturbed expression. Iida and Todoroki shrugged considering Izuku often said crazy things out of seemingly nowhere.
Hisashi seemed to be munching on something as when he began to speak, it was clear something was in his mouth. âYeah. Thankfully thatâs not our problem. Itâs time to pull the plug.â
âPull the plug?â spat Izuku in disbelief. He couldnât believe how selfish his father was being. Deciding to let it all out, Izuku attacked, âI have to protect my friends and save the hurting child inside Shigaraki! I have to do the right thing! Do what you never did as a dad! Put in a little effort.â
Class 1-A was officially panicking. Not once had Izuku ever mentioned having family problems or a bad relationship with his father.
Todoroki couldnât help but feel a little guilty. After all, Izuku helped him through his family troubles, childhood trauma, and his generally bad relationship with his father.
Bakugo on the other hand was pissed off. If he had known that Hisashi was a piece of shit father, he wouldâve gotten his parents involved. After all, Mitsuki adored Inko and would do anything for her.
It seemed that the rest of the group was eager for answers considering something like this was so out of the blue. The conversation was emotionally charged on Izukuâs end, but Hisashi seemed to care less.
âAlright, cut the high road routine. We both know about Shigarakiâs shitty situation and how he now has All for One. You accepted One for All, the only quirk that can defeat him. Shigarakiâs pathetic life is in your hands. You go save him,â taunted Hisashi, clearly proving Izuku right. He didnât put in any effort in supporting his kid.
Bakugo glared at the door. He was tempted to bust it down and blast Hisashi to hell. Despite never interacting with the man before, he made up his mind that Hisashi was an insufferable asshole he didnât want to be bothered with.
Todoroki on the other hand was still caught off guard by Hisashiâs words. All for One and One for All were mentioned. Shigaraki had AFO and Izuku had OFA. They were opposites and destined to battle one another? Uraraka caught on as well and felt the fogginess in her mind clear up a bit.
âSo, you refuse to let me leave, but you want me to save Shigaraki? Youâre really going to believe that I, your son, canât be trusted with pro heroes?â interrogated Izuku, more than happy to point out the flaws in his fatherâs hurtful comments.
âYes, Izuku. I donât trust you. Because youâre not my son,â shouted Hisashi, fed up with the conversation.
Kirishima gasped, appalled by such a cruel thing for Hisashi to say to his son. Uraraka shook her head, a pang of guilt eating her up inside with the knowledge that Izuku had to deal with Hisashi for his entire life.
Todoroki had flashbacks to the things his father would say to him out of anger. Endeavor loved using the phrase âIf you canât do ____ then youâre no son of mineâ. It seemed Hisashi was close to no better than Enji.
Bakugoâs hands twitched as the fabric of his school uniform was singed. The blood rushing through his veins was overwhelming, but it didnât compare to the nightmarish thoughts running through his head. He wanted to kill that bastard. Izuku was an incredible person and the fact Hisashi couldnât see that was crazy.
Much to everyoneâs shock, Izuku fired back quickly, not too upset by the statement, but rather annoyed. They could hear movement from inside the room as Izuku exasperated, âOh, God. Yes. Iâm one of infinite Izukuâs with infinite fathers and infinite universes! Itâs called a hug Dad! It wonât kill you.â
The conversation was derailing so fast. Mina and Kaminari were already tapping out from being able to react. Todoroki was struggling a bit too. The majority of class 1-A felt as if they were missing vital information. It would make sense with how Izuku never brought up Hisashi.
Bakugo was lucky enough to know most of what was going on, the only thing he didnât understand was Izuku and Hisashi talking about a multiverse in the middle of a conversation about Shigaraki and Izuku wanting to save people.
Despite all of that, Jiro and Sero snickered at Izuku for shaming his dad. It was funny to hear Izuku be sassy and mock someone.
âYeah, donât be so sure. Do you know why every Hisashi made sure their little boy was quirkless? The same reason why Iâm not surprised you want to go on this suicidal villain destruction tirade. You were a scary fucking kid,â admitted Hisashi shamelessly.
Bakugo was having a crisis while the rest of class 1-A were trying to process the insane confession they just heard. Hisashi made sure Izuku was quirkless. Yet somehow Izuku had a quirk in this reality.
The teens also couldnât comprehend why Hisashi would say Izuku was a scary kid. Sure, he could be pretty intense and spooky when in battle, but he was super kind, energetic, and a pure hero. It seemed that Hisashi didnât know his son at all.
Izuku let out a laugh of disbelief. âOh my god.â
Everyone was more than happy to hear Izuku was in the same boat they were in.
âI didnât take your quirk to punish you. I did it to protect the neighborhood," revealed Hisashi bluntly. Izuku didn't respond so Hisashi explained, "Not in a noble sense. It was more to sequester you before I had to start, you know, cloning a replacement for every less-than-polite kid or gullible little animal that might cross your socio-path."
With more context to back up Hisashi's insane statements from before, they were now more curious about Izuku's childhood. They could imagine how he'd be a lot to handle. He was a very curious person and always found his way into trouble. Still, that was something they liked about their classmate.
Bakugo, who grew up with Izuku, didn't have the slightest clue about what Hisashi was talking about. Izuku was annoying, sure, but he was obsessed with becoming a hero and saving people. This story Hisashi spun up made no sense.
"This bastard is lying," whispered Bakugo, growing more irritated.
Uraraka and Todoroki glanced at Bakugo. They were glad to hear Bakugo say what they were thinking. While their thoughts and feelings about Hisashi were biased, Bakugo knew Izuku when he was young.
"You would rather believe I'm evil than admit that you are a bad father?" remarked Izuku rather calmly. It seemed that the disbelief wore off and the disappointment settled in.
Hisashi was quick to respond as he clarified, "Oh, dude. No. No, bad father all the way to the max here. I'm a fucking nutcase, and the acorn plopped straight down baby."
The entire group got a bad feeling about all of this. No matter what the result of the conversation was, it was clear that Hisashi was an unreliable narrator in this case. He was contradicting himself left and right, being overly rude, claiming Izuku was crazy, and then making it sound like Izuku had to be crazy just because he was.
"Look at some of the shit you asked me to make you as a kid," started Hisashi as the sound of wind and something crashing could be heard. The group immediately assumed that Hisashi had opened a portal to get a box of items from his home or something.
âRay guns. A whip that forces people to like you. Invisibility cuffs. A parent trap. A lightning gun,â listed Hisashi as he picked up the items one by one.
With each item Hisashi announced, class 1-Aâs jaws dropped lower and lower and their eyes grew wider and wider. They struggled to comprehend what they were hearing. They could hear the jingling of metal and the rubbery noises of plastic. These items were real.
The one thing no one could understand is why Izuku would ask for any of those items. He was a quirkless kid with a dream of becoming a hero. Why heâd ask for things that could cause harm or suggest criminal activity made no sense.
In the cases where the item wasnât dangerous, they found themselves growing sad. For instance, the whip that forced people to like Izuku. They couldnât conceptualize people who didn't naturally like him. He was a magnetic force that attracted people.
âA teddy bear with anatomically correct innards. Night vision googly eyeglasses. Sound erasing sneakers. False fingerprints. Fall asleep darts.â
Magically Hisashiâs prior statements started making sense. If Izuku was asking for items that made it seem like he was planning on stalking and killing someone, they could understand why he was so stern.
The one thing that had Bakugo stumped was he never saw any of the items mentioned before. Izukuâs little bag he used to carry around everyone only had a crappy hero notebook and some hero figures. He rarely had the book bag on him anyway.
While Uraraka, Todoroki, and Iida were concerned by the things their best friend asked for, they were more curious than anything else. How did a child come up with half of those ideas, especially the teddy bear with organs?
âA lie-detecting All Might action figure. An indestructible baseball bat. A taser shaped like a ladybug. A fake police badge. Location tracking stickers. Rainbow-colored duct tape. Mind control hair clips. Poison gum,â continues Hisashi effortlessly. It seemed like he was going to account for every item that was in the container all the items were in.
Kaminari and Sero let the shock fade away and they were suddenly snickering. There was something so humorous about Izuku being a bloodthirsty child.
Bakugo on the other hand was freaking out because some items sounded like faint memories. If he felt like he remembered some of the items, it meant there was a high probability Izuku carried them around often.
Uraraka and Todoroki seemed to process a big issue simultaneously. Hisashi was creating these things. If Izuku asked for a bomb, it seemed like Hisashi would mindlessly make one for Izuku and shove him out the door.
At the best, Hisashi was neglectful. At the worst, Hisashi was an abusive piece of shit. He would make insane and dangerous items for his child without even considering how Izuku could hurt himself or others.
It was a blessing that Izuku managed to calm down and chose the right path of being a genuine hero with the mission of saving people. Inko mustâve raised Izuku all by herself because there was no way Izuku reflected Hisashi.
The group barely had a moment to reflect when Hisashi spoke again and said, âA green, sentient switchblade.â
Before anyone could process what Hisashi just stated, they heard the flipping of a switchblade accompanied by a horrifically human voice.
âHi Izuku! Youâve gotten taller. Shall we resume stabbing?â
Jiro and Momoâs jaws dropped as their heads slowly turned to look at each other. The fact that Izuku grew up with a custom, humanlike knife was something out of a movie.
Todoroki was growing increasingly concerned about how Hisashi managed to make the items in the first place.
Kirishima and Kaminari were jealous that Izuku got a bunch of cool things in his childhood. They did have to remind themselves that Hisashi was a shit father and Izuku deserved better.
Bakugo on the other hand was still trying to recollect ever seeing any of the items. Maybe Izuku had them hidden or requested Hisashi to make an invisible backpack. Still, never once had Izuku used those items.
As horrible as it was, Izuku let the bullies push him around and insult him despite having gear to protect himself. Bakugo probably would have left Izuku alone if he had ever seen any of the items.
âHas it occurred to you that I asked you to make those things because I wanted you to spend time with me? Had it occurred that if I asked you to make those things, it was to protect myself from the bullying I endured because of my quirkless status?â
Suddenly all concern the group had for Izukuâs sanity vanished and empathy kicked in. It made a lot of sense when they thought about it. Izuku wouldnât have asked for those things before the age of four.
If Hisashi stole Izukuâs quirk and put a giant target on his sonâs back of course heâd lose friends and be a target of bullying. Izuku was probably lonely and wanted his parents' attention.
With his father being some kind of inventor, it made sense that someone as smart as Izuku would try to knock out two birds with one stone. Some time with his dad and getting useful items.
Nonetheless, Bakugo understood why he never saw Hisashi. Hisashi was a crazy ass adult with no sense of morality. He was a bad father and a disappointment of a person.
âWait what? Why? Didnât you play with those three boys all the time? You wanted to be a hero so deal with the consequences of that,â scoffed Hisashi as he once again dismissed his sonâs serious problems.
Uraraka was incredibly disturbed. Izuku had confronted his dad about wanting attention and how Hisashiâs decision to steal his quirk did more harm than good. So how did Hisashi take that entire statement and just go right back to square one? The topic of Shigaraki has already passed so why was Hisashi simply chalking all of this up to Izuku wanting to be a hero?
Bakugo was done with Hisashi and was happy to tell Iida to go get Aizawa. Japan may be a wreck now, but Hisashi was not about to make UA a scary place for Izuku.
As Iida rushed away, Izuku responded. To no oneâs surprise, Izuku was hurt and betrayed by his fatherâs reaction. It must have stung to know his father never once cared about him.
âOh my god! This is your fault! I am not a bad person. Iâm going to leave UA, Iâm finding Shigaraki, and Iâm fixing this!â shouted Izuku as the sound of a window breaking rang out through the room.
Bakugo burst through the doorway in the moment, terrified Izuku was hurt. All he saw was a broken window, a hospital gown lying on the hospital bed, a pile of letters sitting on the floor, and Hisashi standing near the bed with a stunned expression.
Bakugo wasted no time charging at Hisashi as he screamed, âYou fucker! Do you have any idea what you just did?â
Todoroki vaulted himself out the window, hoping heâd be able to catch Izuku before he got away. Uraraka rushed out with Todoroki, knowing every second counted.
By the time Aizawa reached the room, Hisashi was unconscious, Izuku was gone, and Todoroki and Uraraka came back empty-handed.
After countless days of searching, fighting, and struggling to get Izuku to return, they succeeded. They had to give Izuku a bit of time to rest and recover, but when he was good enough to chat again, they all had one question.
âCan we see your sentient switchblade?â
Izuku Has An Older Brother
Hisashi Midoriya dead
Mild Manga Spoiler @ end
The Midoriya family was small. It was Izuku, Inko, Hisashi, and his older brother Haru. Haru had stopped going to school halfway through high school, needing to help pay the bills. Hisashi had gotten sick during his business trip in Germany and could no longer work. Inko went from being a stay at home mom, to working 40 hour weeks with paid overtime. Haru would be out working as well, helping to fill in the other expenses of the apartment and everyday necessities.
Izuku grew up taking care of Hisashi. Izuku would give him his baths, make him take his pills, put on his chapstick, and make sure his IV was working properly. When Izuku was in his first year of Junior High, Hisashi passed away. Inko never told anyone, but many people from Hisashiâs work came, both from Japan and from Germany. He had been highly respected and had been an incredible man. Izuku sobbed, missing school for a week. Inko had kept up with work, having to pay off debt. Haru continued working, but lowered the amount of time he was working to keep an eye on Izuku. Izuku spent most of his time wrapped up in Hisashiâs clothing, laying in the bed he spent almost every hour of every day in.
Izuku still cleaned the house, made them dinner for after work, and would even spend his free time teaching Haru the stuff he learned. Izuku would give Inko back massages, fix her tea, and cuddle her to let them mourn and push past their grief and loss. Haru would always watch Midoriya with sad eyes, seeing him wear the same shirts everyday. The shirts were basic and they were all bought from the clearance section in a random clothing store. He watched Midoriya buy the same red shoes every time he needed a new pair. They were the cheapest pair of shoes manufactured for quirkless people.
Izuku would sit there, all alone in the kitchen, finding online coupons for Haru to use since he cut back on work hours. Izuku would do every single free give away for All Might merchandise and would only ask for one poster or figure for his birthday. Inko and Haru would often cry, knowing how this was a lot for Izuku to deal with when he was only 12 years old. Nothing really got better when Izuku started experiencing severe bullying in school. He never told Haru or Inko, but they knew.
Izuku was in his second year of Junior High when Haru decided to surprise him. Haru planned to pick Izuku up from school and take him out to grab something to eat. It would just be Haru and Izuku since Inko switched shifts with someone and was working the night shift instead. Izuku had gotten out of school, phone held in his hand as he read an article about a villain attack. Bakugo and his lackeys werenât too far behind Midoriya, stalking him like wild predators.
Haru waved at Izuku calling out. âIzuku!â
Izukuâs head snapped up from his phone. Spotting Haru, Izuku beamed at the sight of his brother. âHaru!â
The bullies immediately backed off. They were stunned to see Midoriya with an older guy who was definitely nearing the end of his teen years. Bakugo felt his blood boil, frustrated and confused at the presence of the unknown person. The other bullies were just shocked to see someone greet Midoriya happily.
Haru smiled, looking down at Midoriya fondly. âMom switched shifts, we going out to eat tonight. I know itâs long overdue, but consider it your birthday dinner.â
Bakugo stilled a bit, confused on how Haru spoke to Izuku. He wasnât sure if Haru was acting like he was Midoriyaâs older brother or if they were actually brothers. Bakugo stalked closer casually, trying not to bring attention to him or his lackeys.
Izuku smiled, head tilting to the side. âNonsense. I can cook us something a home. I just won a raffle the other day and got us two fresh briskets!â Izuku started rambling, getting excited. âWe can have one tonight. I was planning on having some beef stock soup and enoki mushrooms with a garlic and scallion sauce! I could even save some for mom and we can drop it off at her work!â
Bakugoâs eyebrows narrowed with his eyes, growing irritated. Since when did Inko work? There was nothing wrong with her working, but since him and Izuku were in diapers, Inko always took care of Izuku and was a stay at home mom. On top of that, Midoriya was winning food raffles and talking about making a fancy meal? Since when did Izuku want to be a chef or focus on anything other than being a hero. The bullies were shocked by that part as well.
Haru frowned, looking at Midoriya with guilty eyes, ashamed of how Midoriya was so prone to saving money for the others sake. âNo I was hoping we could go out and grab something together. I love your cooking and that sound amazing, but mom already took some leftovers yesterday to work and I saved up some money to treat you.â
Bakugo felt his eye twitch, hands growing sweaty.
âMoney?â
He couldnât understand why money was such an issue suddenly? It seemed that everything was perfect for Izuku financially. He always had All Might merchandise and his uniform was always in perfect condition despite the amount of them he personally had ruined. He didnât know who this mystery guy was or why he wanted to take Izuku out on a late birthday dinner.
Izuku smiled, taking Haruâs hands gently. Most of the students had disappeared at this point, many already in their clubs or heading home or to hang out with friends. Bakugo and his lackeys pretended that they were not paying attention. Midoriya wasnât facing them so as long as Haru didnât grow suspicious then everything wouldâve been fine.
Izuku had taken Haruâs hands gently and smiled. âAre you sure? I donât need a birthday dinner⊠all I needed was to spend the day with you and mom. I donât need you to go out of your way to do this for me.â
The group of bullies felt guilt creep in, uneasy with how Midoriya spoke.
Haru frowned, eyes whelming up slightly with tears at how gentle his younger brother was. âIâm sorry Izuku. Iâm so sorry.â
Midoriya raised a hand to wipe Haruâs tears.
âDonât apologize brother.â
The group instantly froze, finally noticing the faint freckles Haru mustâve also inherited from his father. They noticed the black hair that matched the black patches in Midoriyaâs. Bakugo noticed his hair was similar to Inkoâs, thick and straight. The boy was wearing a black dress shirt and some slacks, revealing his probably worked as a server at a restaurant. His eyes were tried, but he looked at Midoriya so adoringly that they wouldâve mistaken the exhaustion for relief.
They all watched the older boy, now known as Midoriyaâs brother, shiver under the kind touch of the boy they bullied.
âBrother⊠why are you always apologizing?â inquired Izuku.
âI⊠I donât,â denied Haru sheepishly.
âYes. You do. You and mother stare at me with apologetic eyes all the time. You use actions, not words, to say you are sorry,â stated Izuku firmly.
The brother felt his eyes widen, cheek heating up at the fact he had been caught. He found himself embarrassed, thinking he had tried to appear strong when Izuku saw through it all along.
Bakugo saw the expression of Haru and knew instantly that Izuku saw deeper into Haru than what Haru assumed he was capable of seeing. The other bullies watched, crouching to rest their legs, but listening at the same time. Bakugo wanted to know everything, he didnât know why he didnât know. Inko told Mitsuki everything and Mitsuki told everything she talked about to him and his father at dinner. Why did he not know about Haru? Why did he not know about the money? What else didnât he know?
âDoes being poor make us unhappy? If I canât wear popular clothing or buy a new uniform, should people pity us?â questioned Midoriya, gently rubbing Haruâs cheek with concern.
Haru looked at Midoriya with widened eyes. Desperately wanting to tell Midoriya that yes, he was happy even though he was poor. Nobody had to pity them because of their circumstances. He wanted to let Midoriya know he deserved those things. Not that because of them being poor, they had to be miserable and appear miserable.
Bakugo on the other hand felt his heart stop. Not only was Midoriya struggling with money, but they were classified as poor. Not only that but he and the other bullies were astonished how well kept the uniform was. It looked perfect despite the amount of times they pushed him and made him scratch up the uniform or how they made him get stains on it, or the times where theyâve burnt it or spilled things on him. They couldnât fathom the work he put in to not get a new one. They felt guilty, not only were the hurting Midoriya, but the entire family when they were financially distressed. They felt like the shit people they truly were.
They couldnât do anything but look at Midoriya love and console his older brother, finally deciding to talk about the issues they most likely danced around.
âAre you so determined to blame someone that⊠that you blame our father from dying of illness?â softly persisted Izuku, asking gently in the worry of Haru being so torn up over what happened that his grief turned to anger.
Bakugo and the bullies felt as if their world shattered in the moment. The distraught look on Haruâs face matched the bullies as they felt like they had just recieved the biggest slap in the face.
Bakugo stood there is disbelief. Hisashi was dead, thatâs why Inko was working and they were struggling for money. He didnât know when Hisashi got sick, when he died, how Hisashi died. He didnât even know if there was a funeral. This side of Midoriyaâs life had been hidden so well it never once occurred to him something changed. The other bullies all unanimously agreed they would back off with Midoriyaâs uniform.
âWhile I was taking care of him, bathing him, feeding him⊠he worked so hard⊠but it wasnât enough. Nothing he couldâve done was enough. Even though the medicine was keeping the illness from developing, it weakened his kidneys and liver,â explained Midoriya, taking Haruâs hand again, squeezing them tightly.
Bakugo felt himself join the others crouching down as he was overwhelmed with even more information. They all exchanged a look, realizing how bad this was. Izuku was bullied during the day, taking care of his dying father at night. None of them could even begin to imagine how mentally challenging it mustâve been for him.
âWe just have to accept it,â cooed Midoriya, looking down at Haruâs hands.
Haru felt his eyes water, amazed with his little brotherâs beautiful maturity and innocence. I made the cold bitterness in his heart turn into a warm and sugary lightness. With Izukuâs words alone, he felt ready to accept how things were.
Midoriya looked up at his brother with tears falling from his eyes, his heart racing. âWeâre only humans. We canât just expect things to go the way we want.â
The group of bullies felt their eyes widen, listening to Midoriya in awe. His ability to push forward with pride and passion to take life head and heart first stunned them. They all knew if they had been put in his shoes, none of them would be handling it how he was. Hell, they werenât even sure if theyâd still be alive. Bakugoâs whole existence was based off of his quirk, without it, heâd have nothing. He never would admit it, but it was true. To hear Midoriya explain that he accepted life for what it is despite the odds being against him, was powerful.
Haru was frowning, beyond upset. It wasnât toward Izuku, Inko, or Hisashi. It was toward himself. He had wallowed in self-pity and self-deprecating thoughts when he shouldâve been pushing forward to smile and laugh. He shouldâve been working harder, towards a brighter future that Hisashi would want them to go chase after. Izuku tended to his family because he wanted them to smile again, live comfortably in the comfort of being alive with one another.
âWhether or not you are happy⊠all of this is up to you. What matters in now. That your alive, youâre healthy, and that Iâm here and momâs here,â rationalized Izuku, trying to speak his heart, his voice, his thoughts and feelings.
One of the bullies nodded to himself, agreeing. Izuku was completely right. Haru had every right to focus on the past and reflect, but the past shouldnât be controlling everything he does in the future. Haru and Inko were trying to live through the past and it wasnât helping them or Izuku. From what they heard, Midoriya heart was pure despite the scars is bore. Bakugo felt the protectiveness he once felt as a young child. He felt that longing need to be the stronger one that would protect the meek kid Izuku was. The bullies didnât feel the need to protect, but rather they felt respect. They all felt the strong vitality Midoriya possessed, and they respected it.
âLetâs push forward together, focus on whatâs going to come! Yes, we must work hard and do things that weâd rather not worry or stress over⊠but we must fight for it!â Midoriya raised his voice as he spoke, finding himself growing emotional.
The life in Midoriyaâs voice, the overwhelming emotions that couldnât be easily defined, shook them to their core. They hadnât ever heard Midoriyaâs raise his voice, let alone sound defensive.
âSo please, stop apologizing. You out of everyone I know should understand⊠I want someone to understand how I feel!â cried Midoriya.
The bullies felt their eyes widen. Out of all of the times theyâve seen Midoriya cry. Theyâve never heard it. Theyâve never listened to his voice break as he tried to finish his sentence despite his soul howling in despair. Bakugo knew things were going to change, he wouldnât make it too obvious, but he was going to lay off. The bullies were more than willing to comply, using him being quirkless didnât seem like justification for their actions after what they heard.
Haru felt his eyes widen, panicking. âHey, hey, hey. I want to understand how you feel Izu. I canât imagine what you had to go through taking care of dad alone. I canât imagine what it felt like watching him die as you waited for someone to come help. I donât understand your emotional connection⊠but I want you to have everything and more Izuku.â
Haru pulled Izuku into a tight hug, rubbing his cheek in Izukuâs wild curls and breathing in the wonderful scent of their 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner. He clung to Izuku like a lifeline, rocking back and fourth. Midoriya hugged back, his whole body sinking into Haru.
âYou deserve everything you want in life Izuku. Iâm apologizing because I canât offer you what you deserve. You donât deserve anything youâve been through.â
Izuku grumbled, smacking the back of Haruâs head. âDonât worry about what I deserve. Focus on what I need. I need you and mom to smile and stop wallowing around. Let me do what Iâve been doing to help without having you two stare at me with sad eyes.â
The bullies all watched the two interact with grins. The sight of Haru being serious and wanting the best for Midoriya, only for him to get disciplined by his younger brother. It was laughable, but they remained quiet, pretending to just be worried about something else. Haru had acknowledged their presence, but didnât think anything of it because they did appear to be on their phones and casually âtalkingâ.
Midoriya pulled away and quickly dabbed away his tears. âLetâs grab some bubble tea and go home and grill some brisket? I donât want to eat out⊠it gives me anxiety.â
Haru looked at Midoriya and his mood immediately lightens up. âOkay, letâs go. Wanna talk about your day at school?â
âSchool was stupid as always. How about you tell me how work went. Iâm sure some crazy person made an interesting story,â deflected Izuku, quickly putting the focus off of him.
The bullies as sank with relief, glad Midoriya didnât bring them up. They couldnât help but be surprised nonetheless as he didnât even show any sign his day was bad, giving a generic response like any teen would normally say. They couldnât help but wonder if Midoriya never brought them up period.
Midoriya patted his brother on the cheek before Haru turned around to walk with Midoriya to the cheapest place to buy bubble tea.
The following day, Midoriya comes to school and rather being greeted by a punch, he only met with insults. Not once had Bakugo and his lackeys lay a finger on him since the beginning of the day to the moment Midoriya stepped into the comfort of his home. Midoriya noticed the way their words seemed to get caught on their tongue as they made snide comments and their usual stale remarks and insults. He noticed and wondered if they had a change of heart and a change of attitude. Maybe someone said something to them that made them think about their actions. Whatever it was, it made Midoriya smile to himself. All days after that, it was the same. His bullying became strictly verbal and he could live with that.
Time passed and nothing really changed until the fateful day the teacher purposefully told the class Midoriya wanted to go to UA. Bakugo lost his temper and proceeded to be just as awful of a person as he had been the previous yesr. The bullies even called him out for it, pointing out how he was far harsher than usual. Bakugo had burned Midoriyaâs shoulder while death gripping it. He chased his physical attack with one of the worst things he couldâve ever said and proceeded to leave as if nothing had happened.
Midoriya got into UA anyways and made Bakugo eat his words. Bakugo didnât understand how Midoriya magically got a quirk, but that was a confrontation for another time. It wouldnât be until after the Paranormal Liberation War when Midoriya was in recovery that Bakugo finally met Haru one to one.
The first thing Bakugo did was bow down before Haru and Inko.
âIâm sorry.â

Midoriya was a gem at UA High. No one really knew anything about the mysterious beauty that was best friends with Hatsume in the support department. Still, that never stopped people from blindly pursuing the teen. People were so ashamed when Midoriya rejected them that no one ever told their friends when they planned on confessing.
Countless people have been spotted slipping notes and talking with Midoriya in a quiet area. For some reason, itâs like an unspoken rule that being rejected by Midoriya is so humiliating that if anyone knew about it, it could send a person into a coma.
Class 1-A eventually caught drift of the mysterious beauty who was in the support department. Fortunately for them, they were given an opportunity to approach him without looking too weird. Aizawa, too lazy to deal with it himself, told his students to head to the department to discuss any modifications they needed for their hero costumes. For once, none of the students complained about his laziness.
âOh, Iâm so excited,â beamed Uraraka, happy to finally meet the boy who has the attention of the school.
âMe too. I think this will be a wonderful experience to get closer to the support department,â agreed Iida, unaware Uraraka was talking about meeting Midoriya.
Kirishima waved his hand with a smile. âI just want to meet this dude everyone seems to have a crush on!â
âAgreed dude! I feel like everyone in this school has tried to shoot their shot at Midoriya!â supported Kaminari, throwing his arms to the sky.
Mina looked over at Kirishima and Kaminari with an excited grin. âI bet heâs super sweet! That would explain why I havenât heard anything bad about him!â
Uraraka nodded vigorously, clasping her hands behind her back. âIt would be great to make another friend. I just hope he doesnât blow us up like Hatsume does,â shivered Uraraka at all the memories of Hatsumeâs gadgets exploding when she was around.
Bakugo rolled his eyes at his classmates. At the end of the day, they were a bunch of overly friendly idiots. Still, he was a bit curious to see Midoriya. Since he started UA High, heâd constantly heard about Midoriya, but never saw him
A part of Bakugo was left wondering how Midoriya felt. It must have been a jarring experience to go from being the laughingstock of Aldera Junior High to being the unachievable jewel of UA High. He knew that if he had been in Midoriyaâs shoes, heâd kill anyone who asked him out. They were here to become heroes, not worry about pointless things like dating.
Taking the lead, Iida walked into the room. Hatsume happened to have a crush on Iida, so he was the best person to enter first. It seemed that Uraraka had already sacrificed Iida even if he hadnât been willing.
âIida!â cheered Hatsume, rushing over.
âHello, Hatsume. Iâm assuming Eraserhead has told you about us coming,â greeted Iida, bowing his head as he stepped in to let his classmates also enter.
Hatsume nodded with a bright grin. âYeah, I got all hands on deck for class 1-A.â
Midoriya made his way over with a clipboard to where the class was waiting. âMei, I finished up the blueprints to match your detailing.â
Hatsume grabbed the clipboard eagerly, flipping the pages. âAmazing work Izuku!â Seeming to realize that Midoriya hadnât really interacted with the hero students in person, she started introductions. âIida, have you met Midoriya yet?â
Iida was stunned, staring at Midoriya. He completely understood why everyone asked him out. Midoriya was gorgeous despite being arguably plain.
Short, but fluffy green curls with a mixture of black covered his head. His bangs were short and he had strips of hair by his cheeks that curled oh so perfectly. His eyelashes were long and helped shape his big round eyes. His cheeks were coated in freckles with four dark ones in the middle of both cheeks.
âNo, I havenât. Itâs a pleasure to meet you Midoriya. I appreciate you putting up with us all year,â thanked Iida, bowing his head to show utmost respect. After all, the only reason they could be heroes is because of those in the support department.
Midoriya smiled charmingly at Iida before waving his hand. âNo need to thank me. You hero students deserve the best gear so itâs our fault if it canât handle the amount of work youâre required to put in.â
Iida grinned, feeling a bit relieved to hear they werenât being blamed for damaging their gear. They were often reprimanded by their teachers for being reckless even though damage to their costumes should be expected. Nonetheless, Iida commented, âI never thought of it that way.â
âWell, start thinking of it that way now! Itâs wonderful meeting you, Iida. I hope you see you around here more often,â chuckled Midoriya, happy to meet someone who wasnât just interested in dating him. Besides, it was clear he liked Hatsume so he had nothing to worry about.
After introductions were carried out, Kirishima and Bakugo were assigned to Midoriya to gear repairs and upgrades. Uraraka and Mina shook their fist to the sky and cursed Kirishima and Bakugo. How come the good things in life never happened to them?
As Midoriya guided them to his workstation, they finally were able to get a good look at Midoriya. To the surprise of both Bakugo and Kirishima, Midoriya was muscular.
They assumed he was matching Hatume as he was wearing a black tank top. It showed off his developed arms and the outline of his abs could be seen because of the tight fabric. Anything lower was hidden by the baggy uniform. Midoriya had an All Might charm clipped onto one of the belt loops on his waist.
A pretty, red headband was tied loosely around Midoriyaâs neck. Bakugo assumed it was to cover his nose and mouth when messing with the equipment. Kirishima on the other hand believed it was purely cosmetic. Midoriya seemed like the type of person to want to work in style.
Wanting to break the ice, Kirishima decided to use the only piece of information he knew about Midoriya. âIs it true you get asked out at least once a day?â
Not missing a beat, Midoriya smiled as he answered, âNot really, no,â as he pulled out his files on class 1-Aâs hero suits.
âWait, guys donât ask you out?â asked Kirishima with wide eyes, feeling a bit betrayed by everyone who told him about the rumor. It wasnât that he thought Midoriya was a disappointment after being told he wasnât heavily sought after, but it seemed that everyone was in on a joke Midoriya wasnât a part of.
A couple of seconds of painful silence passed. Midoriya licked his finger to begin flipping through the pages before smirking. Slowly raising his head to look at Kirishima, Midoriya clarified, âThey do, I just donât go.
The way those words effortlessly came out of Midoriyaâs mouth with such confidence was perfect. Kirishima felt his face heat up and he quickly covered his face with both hands. âYou are way too cool.â
While Kirishima was having the time of his life, Bakugo was watching in silence. It was nice to watch Midoriya being his true self without having to worry about being ridiculed. Besides, this was Midoriyaâs territory and Bakugo refused to make the same mistake as he did in the past.
Choosing to keep his head down and mouth shut, Bakugo hoped Midoriya would continue to talk casually with Kirishima. He took it upon himself to distance himself from Midoriya, not wanting to bother him any more than he most likely already was.
âThank you,â chuckled Midoriya as he found the sections about Bakugo and Kirishima in his files. What Midoriya was not about to tell the duo was that heâd already had this conversation a dozen times with all the people who tried flirting with him.
It was quiet for a moment. Kirishima was curious about who Midoriya was as a person, and it seemed that he had one question that would help him know what Midoriya valued. âIs there a reason why you havenât accepted anyone's confession?â
Midoriya shrugged, putting the book down to look at Kirishima. âNot really. At first, I just wasnât interested in the people that confessed and I wasnât ready for a relationship. Now⊠I canât trust that the person confessing wants to be with me or if they just want to see if theyâll be the lucky one who is picked.â
Sorrow overcame Kirishima, and he could not stop the frown from spreading on his face. He didnât realize just how much this situation sucked for Midoriya. It never crossed his mind how Midoriya couldnât trust that anyone truly loved him because asking out the mysterious support student became a trend.
âThat sucks dude,â sighed Kirishima, rubbing his face.
Bakugo rolled his eyes. âOf course, all those stupid extras think itâs funny to play with someoneâs feelings.â
âFor real! Itâs a shame,â agreed Kirishima, not noticing how Midoriyaâs head shot up in Bakugoâs direction.
âYou really shouldnât call everyone extras, Kacchan. It leaves a bad impression,â teased Midoriya as he focused all his attention on Bakugo.
âFuck that shit. I swear this entire school has always been testing our classâs patience, so I have no sympathy to spare. Now theyâre treating you as a trophy which is fucking gross,â hissed Bakugo, crossing his arms as he let his overprotective side show shamelessly.
Midoriya let his smug grin slowly soften into a shy smile. He enjoyed having people stand up for him. While he enjoys the attention it brings him, he wishes the attention wasnât simply objectifying him. He was more than a pretty face and a thing to win.
Kirishimaâs jaw dropped. âBakugo? You know Midoriya?â
Bakugo looked away from Midoriya and scoffed, âIâve known this nerd since we were little brats.â
âYeah, we just fell out of touch in middle school,â recalled Midoriya, trying to keep Bakugo from being a target of unwanted attention.
âThatâs awesome! If youâve survived knowing Bakugo this long, feel free to hang out with our class!â cheered Kirishima, ignoring the hissing of Bakugoâs quirk.
Midoriya was glowing as he accepted the offer. âThat would be amazing! You all were awesome at the Sports Festival.â
As Midoriya turned all his attention to the suits, Bakugo felt comfortable enough to ask, âSo, you still do all that analysis in your notebook?â
âYeah!â answered Midoriya quickly, not bothering to look up from his stack of papers.
âJoin one of our quirk training classes. Youâll be taking notes for the next week,â offered Bakugo, knowing his peers would appreciate a description of their quirk and ways to utilize and improve it.
Not only did Bakugo and Kirishima leave that room with the best model of their hero costume yet, but they also left with a new ally. They achieved becoming friends with the UA heartthrob and confirmed that he was a stunning and smart person.
It was safe to say class 1-A took Midoriya under their wing after he started hanging out with them. It also became a secret bet to see who Midoriya would end up dating. The highest bets were between Kirishima, Bakugo, and Todoroki.
Everyone lost. Midoriya ended up remaining single his entire time at UA High. He knew he was perfect and didnât need anyone to prove it.
Manga spoilers and Dark themes
Sometimes you canât escape your inner demons no matter how much time has passed. Four amazing years may pass, but that darkness is only one storm away.
Midoriya struggled a lot with depression growing up. Despite having a loving mother and a safe home environment, the torture he suffered through the day was too much.
Midoriya loved everything about the hero world and how he could escape into fantastic fantasies. He was constantly diving deep, imagining alternate universes where he was respected by his peers. Midoriya craved positive attention or for the hollow feeling inside him to vanish.
On the days Midoriya didnât have school, heâd curl up in his bed and never move. Unless his mother sweetly called him for dinner or suggested some bonding time, the day was spent wasting away underneath a comforter.
Midoriya was lucky to have met Toshinori. The man gave Midoriya a sense of purpose that he had been missing. Toshinori saw something in Midoriya that Midoriya never saw in himself. It was like he was reborn, suddenly showered in affection, and given a list of things to do to better himself.
Midoriya trained his mind and body every day. Midoriya was eating healthy and filling meals three times a day. By the end of the day, Midoriya was ready to sleep. With getting proper sleep, intake of nutrients, and producing endorphins through intense training, Midoriya was feeling much better.
Despite the upward climb, there were times Midoriya gave into the gloom. Heâd skip showering, not study, ignore the tangles in his hair, never change out his uniform at the end of the day, sleep the day away, not sleep at all, and a plethora of other things he did when things were getting bad.
Neglecting his needs was one thing, but heâd harm himself in more direct ways. He never thought much about it, simply seeing it as a way to relieve the tension in his head and the tightness in his chest. He did it in places he knew would never see the light of day.
In a short two years, Midoriya was seventeen and dealing with mountains of trauma he didnât know how to digest. Midoriya was surrounded by people who brought out the best in him, but he could feel himself slipping.
âIâm not hungry, sorry.â
âI really needed to catch up on sleep.â
âCan we reschedule? Iâm so sorry something came up.â
âSorry, Iâm a bit behind on my studies.â
âMaybe some other time?â
Midoriya slowly withdrew himself from his peers. With the door locked, lights off, and the silence of the soundproof walls made it easy for the sickening sweet voice in the back of his mind to grow louder.
âWas this all worth it?â
âYou served your purpose, you arenât needed anymore.â
âThey probably are happy you arenât around as much.â
âThat sounds like so much work.â
âYou really canât amount to anything.â
âA lazy hero is good for nothing.â
With an empty stomach and an ache in his heart, Midoriya closed his eyes and slept the dark thoughts away. When an alarm broke him out of his nightmare, he slept through his usual morning run.
It didnât take long for everyone to notice something was off. Todoroki, worried and unsure of what to do in this situation, practically fed Midoriya lunch, not giving him a chance to skip a meal. If he had to guilt-trip Midoriya into it he would.
âI got this just for you,â revealed Todoroki, extending out the warm bowl of katsudon.
Midoriya would softly smile, sitting next to his best friend and enjoying the warm meal. The perfect crunch of the breading and the juiciness of the pork nearly brought him to tears. It didnât matter what meal it was, Midoriya would swallow every last bite to respect his friend's kindness.
Bakugo talked with Toshinori and Aizawa, knowing that they may no longer be Midoriyaâs teachers, but they were parental figures. He knew something was wrong and this was bigger than him and his classmates. Aizawa and Toshinori werenât constants in Midoriyaâs life, but their value remained. Their assistance would mean so much more than the nineteen people who are constantly around him.
During the war, Midoriya never once reached out for help when he was working himself to death. If Midoriya was experiencing something that was troubling him or he couldnât save himself from whatever he was going through, Bakugo would pull him out.
It seemed that Toshinori and Aizawa had a hunch that something like what was happening would happen soon enough. Aizawa knew very well that the trauma Midoriya refused to acknowledge would come back tenfold.
Toshinori knew the psychological damage he experienced over the years by dealing with his demons. Being the number one hero and having the entire world on his shoulders was a burden he wouldnât wish on anyone. Thatâs why he originally gave Midoriya the quirk. He believed he was simply passing on a powerful quirk.
When it came out that All for One was not dead and that he had a successor, Toshinori felt guilt consume him. He put Midoriya in a situation far worse than the one heâd lived through.
Midoriya watched nearly all the people he cared about die and/or be on the brink of death. Midoriya watched thousands of innocent people die, unable to do anything. There was an evil far worse than any the world had seen before and Midoriya had to face it himself.
Midoriya had to shove all his emotions deep down as he was forced to see the corpse of someone he cherished dearly. Midoriya was a kid but wasn't in a position to handle the situation as one.
Midoriya was struggling with the trauma of the war and the pressure he was put under. Midoriya would forever be scarred from the responsibility placed in his hand. Yet, deep down, Midoriya was ashamed of the itch he had to be important.
There was this craving for chaos and the fight to the death. Suddenly nothing was going on and the feeling of worthlessness settled in. Midoriya didn't want innocent people to die again or for the world to be in danger, but he felt like something was missing without the danger.
The guilt of missing something so horrible killed him more than what he was put through. Maybe they were interconnected in some way but, in Midoriya's mind, wanting it to happen again was a different trauma response than his episode of depression.
Sometimes, Midoriya's brain filled itself with noise when the world was too quiet. The earth-shattering sounds of the battle and his scream mixing with the screams of the rest of the world would haunt him. The rare spots on his wall where there was no All Might merchandise, Midoriya's eyes would focus on the white wall and let the rest of his room fade away.
Midoriya could fall into a staring contest with his wall while standing, sitting, or lying down. There were no limits and he usually would catch himself doing it whenever he was in the security of his room. These moments of pure disassociation could last from anywhere of a couple of seconds to over an hour.
It was Saturday night and Bakugo was going to drag Midoriya down to study with the class. He figured surrounding him with everyone would help get him out of his head a bit. He always liked to think he knew Midoriya the best, but he didn't know the first thing to do to help Midoriya snap out of whatever mental decline he was trapped in.
"Izuku, I'm coming in," announced Bakugo, hand already turning the door handle.
Bakugo didn't think much about not receiving any response and opened the door. Midoriya was on his bed, lying on his side as he stared at his wall motionlessly.
"Nerd?"
Midoriya didn't seem to notice Bakugo or even signal he heard Bakugo address him. Bakugo started panicking, worried Midoriya was unresponsive. Bakugo started looking over Midoriya after dropping to his knees beside the bed.
"Shit, Izuku. Look at me!" begged Bakugo, reaching to check for a pulse. He cursed himself for not paying closer attention to Midoriya's health. It took seconds for Bakugo to feel the steady thumping of Midoriya's pulse under his fingers.
Midoriya blinked, feeling the warm touch and wanting to lean into it. His vision of the wall was blocked by Bakugo's worried expression and he couldn't help but feel like everything was okay for this split second in time.
Tears started falling and Midoriya couldn't find the strength in himself to stop. Midoriya let his whole body shake with each sob he let rip through his body. He hated feeling so hopeless and feeling stuck in such a horrible mindset. It was a scary feeling to have no control over.
Bakugo didn't need to hear anything to know that Midoriya needed him at that moment. Bakugo reached for Midoriya's hand and took it securely in his own before resting his forehead against Midoriya's. Rough and crooked fingers intertwined and squeezed soft and powerful fingers.
"I don't know what to do Kacchan," wept Midoriya, feeling safe to express himself.
Bakugo remained quiet momentarily before letting his gut do the talking. "You don't have to know what to do all the time. Sometimes life sucks and you have to let others make it less shitty."
Midoriya cried harder, pulling out his other hand to gently wrap it against Bakugo's wrist. "I can't do this anymore."
"And you don't have to. I'm here. If you can't handle burdens on your own, I'm here. Let me help, Izuku," stressed Bakugo, brushing Midoriya's bangs out of his forehead. "I'll be there to save you every time you need a hero."
Midoriya felt like the room was no longer caving in on him and that the world finally had air to spare. His grip on Bakugo momentarily tightened before he took a deep breath. There was something so incredible about Bakugo and how he never failed to be Midoriya's anchor. Bakugo never failed to reach his hand out to lift Midoriya out of the pit he was trapped in.
âLetâs go take a shower, grab you something to eat, and how about we go study? You donât need to be alone and if you get overwhelmed we can ditch,â guided Bakugo as he removed his one hand from Midoriyaâs bangs to poke his freckles.
Still feeling vulnerable, Midoriya let out a shaky breath. âYeah, can you just stay here with me for a bit?â
Bakugo rose from his uncomfortable position and crashed beside Midoriya on his bed. âYou could ask me to destroy the world and Iâd do it.â
Midoriya smiled, feeling his cheeks heat up by the powerful confession. âYou sure know how to make a boy feel special.â
âAfter existing in a world without you⊠I never wanted to experience it again.â
Midoriya suddenly realized he had something he could use to anchor himself down. He remembered seeing Bakugo lying in the crumbling field of injured heroes. He remembered the dread that filled him upon seeing the sickeningly beautiful sight of Bakugoâs peaceful resting expression. The crushing horror of seeing his unbreathing, bloodied body would forever haunt his dreams.
Why would he give up a life where Bakugo was right next to him?
âI never want to experience it either,â professed Midoriya, feeling a warmth fill his chest, seeing the scars that littered Bakugoâs body. Those scars were proof that this boy before him would always defy and twist fate to come back to him.
The downward spiral ended when he was forced to remember every wonderful thing he had to live for. He had to live for Bakugo, Todoroki, Uraraka, Eri, Aizawa, Toshinori, his mother, and the surplus of people whom he never wanted to live without.
Overcoming depression wasnât easy and his recovery wasnât going to be fast. There would be those moments when the exhaustion that filled him was too much or the pressure of outside expectations killed his appetite and kept him up at night. The battle was a lot easier being surrounded by people who never failed to bring a smile to his face.
Freshly cleaned and fed, Midoriya had his bookbag filled with unfinished homework and study guides. Bakugo was right next to him, wearing an accomplished grin as he plopped down next to Midoriya. The excited greetings of his classmates washed away any bits of anxiety that he may have had left.
âReady to get this study game on?â questioned Kirishima happily upon seeing two of his best buds appear together.
âYeah! Iâll admit Iâm a bit behind,â admitted Midoriya meekly.
Iida seemed to not care about the fact that Midoriya got behind on schoolwork and smiled warmly. âWell letâs get you caught up!â
Midoriya eagerly nodded, feeling the buzz of his classmate's excitement rub off on him. They were all gathered together to study, but Midoriya couldnât help but be overjoyed to be with them at that moment.
Things would be okay.
There was never a dull moment with class 2A. Sure, sometimes a normal day would be nice, but realistically all the teens were used to it. With everything that happened in their first year of UA and the first couple of months of their second year, most days were eventful in a non-life-threatening way.
There was a giant shift in the class dynamic. Sure, everyone was close, but the bond was incredibly close. It was safe to say class 2A turned into one giant family.
There were also new developments. For instance, romantic relationships bloomed. Kirishima and Mina were the first to announce their relationship. After seeing how fast their life can come to an end, they didnât want to waste another moment worrying about being rejected or ruining a friendship.
Kaminari and Jiro followed shortly after. Kaminari had a revelation during the first war that the mere thought of Jiro brought him strength. They had been tip-toeing around their feelings, too wrapped up in the chaos surrounding them to address their feelings for one another.
The most anticipated relationship was between Bakugo and Midoriya. They went through hell together, both dying during the war. Only with a miracle did they both get successfully resuscitated and recover fully. Bakugoâs heart exploded and Deku suffocated from Gearshift. Both of their hearts completely stopped. Midoriya saw Bakugoâs dead body after being dragged away. Bakugo watched as Midoriya dropped dead when the fight was over.
The duo was in recovery for months, their bodies struggling to recover from overexerting their quirks to the point of death. Similar to the others, they soon realized that with the time they had left, they wanted to spend it together. They lived in a world where the other no longer existed, no matter how long or short they were dead. They never wanted to live in a world where the other didnât exist.
The relationship was kept between the class and the teachers. No one else in the entire world knew. They were able to love one another in the privacy of the school.
Outside of UA, the entire class was celebrities for their part in the war. Society fell apart and was built back up again. Midoriya and Bakugo were recognized as the wonder duo. Deku Midoriya and Kacchan Bakugo. Hero Deku and Hero Dynamight.
Unfortunately, some adults should never be around kids, but they were. It was an average interview, but of course, things didnât go to plan. The wonder duo was at another interview to discuss their lives and the aftermath of the war. Reporters were notorious for either being amazing or horrible. Unfortunately, the one the duo was dealing with was a bad one.
The girl was very clearly flirting with Midoriya and at one point tried feeling his abs underneath his hero suit. Midoriya froze, feeling beyond violated. Bakugo was fuming, not only pissed but jealous that some woman was touching Midoriya. One glance at Bakugoâs face was all it took for Midoriya to have the strength to defend himself on live television.
Slapping the woman's hand away while shoving her away, Midoriya spat, âTouch me again and Iâll put you through the fucking floor.â
Bakugo grabbed Midoriya by the forearm and pulled him away. âWe are leaving nerd. This pervert isnât to be trusted to keep her hands to herself.â
âWait, please donât go!â begged the woman, rushing over.
Midoriya turned his attention to her and did his best to not have a visible reaction. âWhy would I stay?â
âI didnât expect you to get upset. Letâs restart!â insisted the woman, bowing her head.
âAs if hag,â scoffed Bakugo, pulling Midoriya impossible closer. âYou havenât even bothered to try and apologize and youâre blaming Deku for being uncomfortable when you are the one who tried to touch him like a freak.â
âYouâre weird and Iâd rather not answer any questions you have for me. Letâs go Kacchan,â agreed Midoriya, finally sending a glare to the entire crew.
As the adult was begging for them to say, the duo was rushing out of the room. Theyâd rather relax at the dorms than worry about the stupid interview. Bakugo pulled Midoriya close and bit his cheek as soon as they were on campus.
Midoriya yelped, but let Bakugo hold him close. âKacchan?â
âThat was hot as fuck Izuku,â complimented Bakugo, happy to watch Midoriya tell someone off.
Midoriya grinned, sinking his face into Bakugoâs chest, breathing in the familiar scent of caramel mixed with the faint smell of his cologne. âOnly for Kacchan.â
Bakugo barked a laugh, fondly smacking the back of Midoriyaâs head. âHey! Save it for later.â
âOkay.â Midoriya bashfully grinned, releasing Bakugo. Suddenly recalling something, Midoriya cheered, âLetâs have Katsudon!â
Bakugo rolled his eyes but wasnât going to argue. Midoriya surprised him with super spicy mapo tofu earlier that week. Midoriya even paid a visit to Fuyumi Todoroki to make it perfect. Their love language was every kind of love language. Acts of service, physical touch, words of affirmation, quality time, and receiving gifts.
When they entered the dorms, Aizawa was already waiting for them as the rest of their classmates were gathered in the common room. The duo were happily holding hands, excited about lunch. The sight of Aizawa waiting for them initially scared them, but soon relaxed remembering the interview happened.
âAre you okay Midoriya?â questioned Aizawa, hearing about what happened on the news.
âYeah, Iâm okay,â sighed Midoriya, letting go of Bakugoâs hand to get closer to Aizawa. âJust a bit shaken up.â
Aizawa nodded, fist-bumping Midoriyaâs chest. âDonât worry kid. I already have Nezu working with the company about what occurred. We are making sure that woman never has a job dealing with minors ever again.â
Bakugo grinned, stepping forward. âGood. Extra needs to learn her place. If Midoriya hadnât done something I wouldâve blasted her ass to space.â
Midoriya grinned, never feeling safer as Aizawa and Bakugo talked about the ways they wanted to keep him safe. Aizawa ended up following class 1A throughout the years with Nezuâs permission. Sure, Aizawa was the best at raising young heroes, but he needed his kids and his kids needed him.
Aizawa simply nodded at what Bakugo said and turned his attention back to Midoriya. âAs long as you're okay kid. Iâm proud of you for setting your boundaries.â
Midoriya grinned, feeling a secure hand on his waist. âThank you. I was happy to make it clear I donât tolerate unsolicited touch.â
Bakugo guided Midoriya to the kitchen attached to the common room only to hear the crowd rushing over. Uraraka practically tackled Midoriya as she screamed, âIâm so proud of you!â
Kaminari laughed, his arm hanging around Jiroâs shoulder. âYeah, that was really fun to watch.â
Jiro grinned, nodding at the duo. âWatching Bakugo get all huffy and overprotective was hilarious.â
âI thought it was rather adorable. Besides, we were all freaking out when she touched Midoriya,â chuckled Momo with a nod and a fond smile on her face as she looked at an irritated Bakugo.
Todoroki held up his phone, pointing to where Aizawa was napping. âI told Aizawa about what happened so he could get the lady in trouble.â
Midoriya couldnât help but laugh from where he and Uraraka were lying on the ground. âYou guys are crazy.â
âNah bro, what that lady did was unacceptable. We were all excited to watch the interview, but we were more excited to see you two put her in her place,â complimented Kirishima as he shook his head, walking over to where the group was starting to congregate.
âHonestly, what a nightmare,â sighed Mina, disgusted that a grown adult thought it was okay to touch a teenager like that on live television.
Midoriya nodded, allowing Bakugo to pull him up onto his feet. âSure I was irritated, but honestly I wouldnât have stood up for myself if it wasnât for the fact Iâm madly in love with Kacchan.â
Bakugo elbowed Midoriya, eyes narrowed despite the way his face was flushed a beautiful red. âYou better be! Iâm the best.â
âKacchan is the best,â declared Midoriya, wearing a happy smile. âIâll happily destroy anyone who tries to pull us apart.â
âOkay, calm down Freckles,â grumbled Bakugo, still flushed. He couldnât deny that he liked it when Midoriya was all possessive. After a moment of silence, he mumbled, âLove you Izuku.â
Midoriya turned his body to crush Bakugo in a hug. âI love you too Kacchan!â
Class 2A was never going to let Bakugo hear the end of it.
ALSO HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!! SLAY TO ALL THE FELLOW BKDK'S OUT THERE <3 <3 <3
Keith came back to Voltron as this was important for his BOM mission. Lance didnât bother to arrive as Keith leaving hurt him a lot. Hiding off in training room slashing and screaming, as usual, just to let out all the pain Keith inflicted on him intentionally or not.
âI wish we never had the bonding moment! I wish I never met you at the Garrison! I wish I never followed Pidge onto the roof! I wish you never left! I wish I never loved you-â
Lance heard Coran walk in with a worried face and turned off the simulation, âMy boy are you okay?â
Lance shook his head dismissing Coran, âYes, Iâm fine.â
Coran frowned knowing Lance enough to tell easily it was a lie, âNo I can sense you are distressed. Maybe along with the fact you didnât attend Keithâs return.â
Lance bit his lip his gaze immediately falling to some random spot on the wall, âIt doesnât matter-â
Coran hugged him his embrace soft and careful yet solid, âI heard it all Lance you donât need to lie... I understand you loved him and he left which hurt you deeply â itâs okay you can tell me that my boy.â
Lance wrapping his hands around Coran reciprocating the embrace before he proceeded to continue training allowing Coran to sit and watch. The two held a nice conversation and Lance felt... somewhat better.
Coran sighed alerting Lance before he forgot, âYou have a mission in one of your earth hours.â
Lance sighed sitting down wondering why Coran felt the need to tell him right then, âOkay...?â
Coran looked at Lance a flash of concern and remorse, âAnd itâs with Keith.â
~with Keith~
He was sitting in the kitchen with Hunk obviously distressed about Lance not showing up to his return.
Hunk spoke plainly telling Keith this as if it were as plain as day, âI hope you know heâs pretty pissed at you and hurt.â
Keith slammed his hands on the table frustrated not seeming to understand, âWhy I didnât even do anything!â
Pidge scoffed looking up from her laptop for the first time since entering, âMan what a dickish thing to say. Keith common you just left like that. No formal goodbye and dropped us all! May I say, mainly Lance like trash and it doesnât help that Shiroâs been a dick to him too.â
Keith sighed resting his head on the table guilt starting to build up, âHow do I make this up?â
Hunk chuckled waving Keith off as it wasnât his job of course as it wasnât, âLance can hold a grudge like a god, good luck.â
Pidge fixed her glasses her gaze once again immediately trained into whatever codes she was typing into her laptop, âWell, I guess you could start with the mission you two have in a couple minutes.â
Keith sighed resting his head on the table. I mean hey, Pidge is right itâs worth a shot.
~The mission~
Coran and Lance walked out of the training room and Lance dismissed his Bayard before Keith could see it. Coran patted his back before Lance approached Keith.
âLetâs go.â
He only spoke those two words and they made their way into the red lion and silence overtook the empty lion. Lance didnât budge but he did feel the burning in his chest of hurt as Keith was close. He sighed attempting to swallow the lump in his throat.
Lance pulled up the mission and looked at his goal speaking to himself, âOkay save a local planet... Allura, I wish you were more descriptive. Yet this mission not even close in difficulty as some missions Iâve done.â
Lance shut off the hologram and threw on locking his helmet expecting this was going to be easy and even if it wasnât he manages fairly well.
Keith spoke messing with his hands, âLance?â
Lance didnât even budge something about Keith having a lack of composure was foreign and made Lance twitch, âYes?â
Keith bit his lip before speaking words he would normally refuse to say, âIâm sorry?â
Lance scoffed immediately licking eyes with Keith amused, âWas that a question idiot?â
Keith frowned hurt snapping back, âWow... okay sorry!â
Lance landed and took off his helmet snapping his head to Keith and spat out, âYou're sure as hell not forgiven.â
Keith was shocked and watched as Lance walked out as bullets and weapons were flying everywhere.
Lance summoned his Bayard and knew the guys in purple were enemies and with that, his Bayard sprung to life.
Keith stuck in his tracks paused upon seeing the sword Lance wheedled. Lance started taking down any enemy on sight with no hesitation.
Lance muttered curses under his breath exactly like the ones he said in the training room and stopped slicing them in half and decided to punch them.
âThis is for being a bitch!â
âThis for just being here!â
Lance glared and Drew back his arm, âAnd this for making me love you!â
Lance slammed his fist into the alien's face killing them from hard impact.
Keith smiled at Lance taken aback by the growth heâs seen in him, âLance that was amazing.â
Lance rolled his eyes not caring for how hard it seemed Keith was trying, âYeah weâre in a fucking war so get your head out of your ass itâs not a hat.â
Keith was shocked and enraged with how rude Lance was being and had enough of it, âOh fuck off!â
Lance shoved Keith away slapping a Keith with reality, âSays the one who keeps talking to me when I donât want you to!â
Keith growled flailing his armsïżŒ, âWell Iâm sorry Iâm trying to reconnect with a friend!â
Lance laughed hard,â Friend. Friend? If you were a friend you wouldnât have dropped me without a second thought! But guess what... Thatâs exactly what you did!â
Keith froze with no counter to that, âI had no idea you felt that way...â
Lance was already walking away waving Keith off, âWell then I guess you arenât as smart as I thought Kogane.â
Keith narrowed his eyes only letting anger do the talking, âListen to yourself youâre in a war! We donât have time for relationships!â
Lance gasped his walking stopped and a giant wave of guilt smacked Keith, âSo a war means you leave Voltron which could have gotten us all killed for a rebel group thatâs been running and surviving for maybe I donât know 10 fucking thousand years?!?â
Keith paused as he couldnât fight with that statement as it was true, âUhm...â
Lance pushed Keith back pissed, âYeah you were only thinking of yourself fucking jerk!â
Keith grabbed Lanceâs hands, âLance calm down.â
Lance ripped his hands from Keithâs grasp, âI wonât calm down till you leave me again cause I wouldnât expect anything else.â
Keith not knowing what else so grabbed Lanceâs face and hardly kissed him. Lance tried to fight back but Keith wrapped his arms around Lance and didnât budge. Lance tried his hardest and broke down kissing back tears falling all the anger was gone now only hurt.
Keith realized what he did to Voltron was what his mom did to him.
Keith pulled back from the kiss pulling Lance into a tight hug, âI left you once Iâm never leaving you again.â
Lance sobbed pulling Keith close, âYouâre such an asshole!â
Keith nodded, âI know I am â and I donât expect everything to be normal right away... but Iâm really never leaving again.â
Lance looked up at him a serious expression displayed on his face, âPromise?â
Keith nodded hand still cupping Lanceâs face he rubbed his thumb on a nice soft cheek, â I Promise.â
Lance this time initiated the kiss and when he felt Keith deeply kiss back he knew that Keith was going to do his best to keep that Promise.
Till the day he dies.
