-fic under the cut-

The family home buzzed with chatter and laughter, the scent of home-cooked meals filling the air as everyone gathered for yet another event—one of many you’d grown used to over the years. Normally, these events made you feel content, like you belonged to something stable, a network of love that kept you grounded. You found comfort in them, and in Lewis, who stood beside you. His hand rested at the small of your back as you mingled with relatives, the familiar warmth of his touch steadying you.

But tonight was different. There was an undercurrent of tension you couldn’t quite place, a gnawing discomfort that tugged at your chest the longer the evening stretched on. Every so often, you caught your sister casting glances at Lewis—glances that felt too intimate, too knowing. At first, you brushed it off. You trusted them both implicitly; after all, your sister was family, and Lewis was the love of your life. The man who whispered sweet promises of forever in your ear on quiet nights, the man who made you feel like you were his world.

But something was wrong. You could feel it in the way Lewis’s smile didn’t quite reach his eyes whenever he looked at you, or in the way your sister seemed nervous, her laughter too forced when they interacted. The uneasy feeling festered as the night wore on, growing harder to ignore.

It all came to a head when you excused yourself from a conversation with some cousins, needing a moment to breathe and collect your racing thoughts. As you walked down the hallway, seeking a quiet corner of the house, you heard it. Muffled voices. The soft murmur of your sister’s voice, mixed with Lewis’s low, frantic tones.

You froze, heart hammering in your chest as you stood just outside the door. You knew it was wrong to eavesdrop, but something kept you rooted to the spot. You couldn’t stop yourself.

“Lewis, we can’t do this,” your sister’s voice whispered urgently, panic clear in her tone. “It was a mistake.”

“I know, I know,” Lewis replied, his voice strained. “It was a one-time thing. We were drunk, we weren’t thinking… but we can’t let her find out.”

Her. You.

The words hit you like a sledgehammer, and the air seemed to vanish from your lungs. Your mind raced, a sickening realization dawning on you as the blood rushed in your ears. You felt your knees wobble, the floor beneath you seeming to fall away as the betrayal washed over you in suffocating waves.

You pushed the door open, your hands trembling. Their heads snapped toward you, faces drained of color as they registered your presence. Your sister’s mouth opened, but no words came out. Lewis stepped forward, panic and guilt written all over his face.

“Y/N…,” he began, his voice shaking. “Please, let me explain.”

Your throat burned as you tried to speak, but the words got stuck. Tears welled up in your eyes, hot and unstoppable, as you took in the sight of them together. Your sister—the person you had grown up with, confided in, trusted more than anyone else in the world. And Lewis, the man who had sworn he would never hurt you.

“How could you?” you finally choked out, voice breaking. “Both of you? My own sister, and you… Lewis, how could you do this to me?”

Your sister’s face crumpled as she stepped forward, reaching out, her voice trembling. “Y/N, it was a mistake, I swear. We were drunk, it didn’t mean anything. Please—”

“Stop,” you spat, taking a step back, your chest heaving with sobs you could no longer hold back. “Don’t say another word. Don’t try to justify it. You both knew what you were doing. Drunk or not, you knew.” You turned to Lewis, the hurt in your eyes piercing through the fog of shock that clouded your mind. “You promised me,” you whispered, voice hoarse. “You said I was your forever. Was that a lie too?”

Tears filled Lewis’s eyes as he reached out for you, desperation clawing at his every word. “No, it wasn’t. Please, Y/N, it was one mistake. One night. I was drunk—I wasn’t thinking. But I love you. I love you more than anything in this world.”

But his words fell on deaf ears. Your heart was shattered, and all you could think of was getting away. You couldn’t stand to be in the same room with them, couldn’t bear to hear any more lies. Without another word, you turned and bolted out of the house, ignoring their frantic calls as you fled into the night, tears blinding your vision.

The cool night air hit you like a slap to the face, but it did nothing to calm the storm raging inside you. You didn’t know where you were going; all you knew was that you needed to run, to escape the crushing weight of their betrayal. Your legs carried you down the street, feet pounding against the pavement as sobs wracked your body.

“Y/N!” Lewis’s voice rang out behind you, growing closer as he chased after you, his footsteps echoing against the empty street. “Please, don’t leave! Let me explain! I can’t live without you. I love you, please… don’t go.”

But you didn’t stop. You couldn’t. His words only fueled your pain, making it harder to breathe. “Stay away from me!” you screamed, your voice breaking as your tears blurred everything around you. You were so lost in your grief that you didn’t see the car speeding down the road, didn’t hear the blaring horn until it was too late.

The impact came with a sickening thud, and the world went dark.

Lewis watched in horror as your body crumpled to the ground, his mind struggling to process what had just happened. Time seemed to freeze as he stood there, paralyzed with shock.

“No… no, no, no,” he whispered, rushing to your side. His hands trembled as he gathered your limp body into his arms, blood seeping into the pavement beneath you. “Please, no. Please don’t do this. Y/N, wake up. Wake up, please,” he begged, tears streaming down his face as he cradled you. “I wasn’t able to make it right. Let me tell her I love her one last time. I know I never deserved her, but why take her away? Why now?”

His words echoed into the night, but there was no answer. Only the silence of the empty street and the cold, lifeless body of the woman he loved more than anything.

The day of your funeral was dreary, the sky gray and overcast, as if the world itself mourned your loss. The church was packed with family, friends, and the entire F1 grid, but the air was thick with anger and blame. Lewis stood at the back, his face pale and gaunt, hollowed out by grief. His eyes, red and swollen from sleepless nights and endless tears, scanned the crowd, but no one would meet his gaze.

As the service ended, the drivers gathered around your grave, their faces hard with fury. Fernando Alonso was the first to approach him, his hand clenched into a fist.

“This is your fault,” Fernando hissed, his voice low and venomous before his fist connected with Lewis’s jaw, sending him stumbling backward. “You killed her.”

Lewis didn’t even fight back. The pain of the punch was nothing compared to the weight of his guilt. He barely reacted as the other drivers closed in, their faces a mix of rage and disgust. Max Verstappen, Sergio Pérez, Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc—they all looked at him as though he were the lowest form of life.

“Stay away from her grave,” Oscar Piastri snarled, shoving Lewis back. “You don’t deserve to be here.”

Lewis stood there, unable to move, unable to defend himself as the drivers took turns spitting their anger at him. He didn’t blame them. He deserved every word, every blow. He had failed you in the worst possible way.

Your friends, Lily Muni He, Alexandra Saint Mleux, Kika Gomes, Flavy Barla, and Kelly Piquet, stood off to the side, their eyes filled with contempt as they hurled insults at him and your sister.

“You’re disgusting,” Kika spat, her eyes blazing with hatred. “How could you do this to her? She loved you.”

“And you,” Lily said, glaring at your sister, her voice trembling with fury. “How could you betray her like that? You’re her sister!”

Your family wasn’t any more forgiving. Your mother, her face streaked with tears, approached Lewis as they lowered your coffin into the ground. She slapped him across the face, her sobs tearing through the quiet.

“Why are you here?” she screamed, her voice hoarse with grief. “Go away! You have no right to be here!”

Your father turned on your sister, his face twisted with rage. “How dare you show your face here?” he growled. “You are no child of mine.”

The weight of their anger and blame was suffocating, but Lewis couldn’t leave. He couldn’t tear himself away from your grave, from the last place he would ever see you. He had lost everything—his love, his future, his world.

In the end, he stood alone, surrounded by the wreckage of his choices. You were gone, and no amount of apologies or tears could bring you back. He had destroyed the one good thing in his life, and now he would have to live with that guilt for the rest of his days.

|| note: gonna start off my haikyuu fics w the pretty setter squad

-fic under the cut-

Being Kageyama Tobio’s younger twin sister came with an extra layer of complications, especially when Karasuno acted as your personal security team. They were relentless in their overprotectiveness, particularly around guys who so much as looked in your direction. If someone even smiled at you, the entire team would close in, their hawk-like glares chasing away any potential suitors.

At first, you found it endearing. But then you met Atsumu Miya at nationals.

It was the first day of the tournament, and you were helping the team prepare when you caught Atsumu staring from across the court. His grin was wide and cocky, clearly confident as he threw you a playful wink.

“Oi, pretty twin!” he shouted, loud enough for everyone to hear. You stiffened in place, your cheeks burning, but before you could respond, Karasuno had already reacted.

“What did he just call you?” Nishinoya shot up from his stretching position, his eyes narrowing.

“Pretty what?” Tanaka echoed, cracking his knuckles as he stood next to Noya, his protective energy bubbling to the surface.

You tried to brush it off with a wave of your hand. “It’s nothing. He’s just—”

“Flirting with you,” Tsukishima interrupted, smirking as he adjusted his glasses. “And he’s not even subtle about it.”

Kageyama’s brow furrowed as his head slowly turned to where Atsumu was standing. His eyes darkened, though his expression remained relatively blank. He might not have shown it as outwardly as the others, but you knew your brother. Tobio didn’t like Atsumu from the moment he met him, and this wasn’t helping.

“Let’s not get distracted, guys,” Daichi called out, though even he was giving Atsumu the side-eye. “We’ve got a match to win.”

Still, every time Atsumu caught your eye, he’d flash you a grin, causing the Karasuno members to collectively tense up. It was almost funny seeing the boys get so worked up, but the situation quickly became something you tried to push to the back of your mind as the tournament progressed.

Three months later, you had a secret—and that secret had blonde hair, a cocky smirk, and answered to the name of Atsumu Miya.

It had all started with some casual texting, which turned into late-night phone calls, which somehow turned into a relationship. Keeping it hidden from your brother and the rest of Karasuno had been exhausting, but you and Atsumu enjoyed the thrill of sneaking around.

The challenge? Not letting Karasuno catch on, especially when they seemed to be hyper-aware of everything involving you.

“Y/N! Watch out!”

Hinata’s shout snapped you out of your thoughts just in time to duck a stray volleyball that came hurtling toward your head. You let out a yelp and crouched down, feeling the breeze of the ball as it narrowly missed you. You looked up to see Noya sprinting over with wide eyes.

“Are you okay? Did it hit you?” Noya’s panic was so evident it was almost endearing.

“I’m fine!” you assured him, standing back up with a nervous chuckle. But the second the rest of the team saw the near-miss, they rushed over.

“Seriously, guys, I’m fine,” you repeated, now surrounded by a circle of worried faces. Even Tsukishima raised an eyebrow from the sidelines, though he didn't move from his spot. Kageyama frowned, clearly irritated that he hadn’t seen the ball coming.

“You gotta pay attention, Y/N,” Daichi said, his captain voice kicking in as he patted your shoulder. “We don’t need anyone getting hurt.”

You laughed lightly, brushing it off. “Yeah, yeah, I’ll be more careful.”

Little did they know, your distraction had nothing to do with the ball and everything to do with a certain setter from Inarizaki.

Today, practice was running long, and you were helping gather up volleyballs when the gym doors suddenly burst open with a loud crash.

“Oi, Y/n/n! Yer not gonna believe this!”

Atsumu’s voice rang out, and your heart dropped to your stomach. You whipped around to see him standing in the entrance of the gym, his Inarizaki jacket casually draped over his shoulders. Behind him were some of his teammates, including Osamu, who looked like he was bracing for whatever chaos his brother had just set off.

The entire gym went dead silent.

“What... is he doing here?” Daichi’s voice was the first to break the tension.

You could feel every pair of Karasuno eyes burning into you as you slowly made your way over to Atsumu, desperately trying to push him back out the door. “Tsumu! What are you doing here?!” you hissed under your breath.

He just grinned, completely unbothered by the growing tension in the gym. “Came to surprise ya! Thought you’d be happy to see me.” His tone was teasing, loud enough for everyone to hear.

“You’ve got to leave—" you started, but then you heard Tanaka groan.

“Wait a minute…” Nishinoya muttered. “Did he just say ‘surprise’? Why is he here to surprise you?”

Atsumu winked, leaning casually against the doorframe. “Guess it’s time to let the cat outta the bag, huh?”

You stood frozen, heart racing as Karasuno’s eyes ping-ponged between you and Atsumu. This wasn’t how it was supposed to happen.

“Let what out of the bag?” Hinata asked, his voice full of confusion.

You sighed deeply, rubbing the back of your neck. “Okay, um… I was going to tell you guys eventually, but... Atsumu and I are dating.”

The gym erupted.

“WHAT?!” Tanaka and Noya practically screeched.

“How long has this been going on?!” Daichi demanded, his arms crossed over his chest.

“You’ve gotta be kidding me,” Tsukishima snorted, looking both amused and shocked at the same time.

Kageyama was staring blankly at you, his expression unreadable but his fists clenched. He clearly didn’t know what to do with this information.

“Aww, don’t be mad,” Atsumu called out, stepping further into the gym. “It’s been three months now. Didn’t wanna cause a scene, but I guess I kinda did, huh?” His smug grin only made the situation worse.

Tanaka and Noya were the first to move, charging straight at Atsumu, who dodged them with ease, laughing all the while. “Oi! You guys serious?”

“Get back here, you sly fox!” Noya yelled, determined to catch him.

Atsumu darted around the gym, dodging stray volleyballs and Karasuno’s players like it was some sort of game. You couldn’t help but laugh at the sight of Atsumu, one of the top setters in Japan, being chased by your overprotective team like he was a kid caught stealing candy.

Even Daichi couldn’t help but crack a smile as the chaos unfolded, though he tried to keep things under control. “Alright, alright, that’s enough!”

Finally, Atsumu stopped, catching his breath as he leaned against the wall. “Man, you guys are protective, huh?”

“Obviously,” Tanaka huffed, still looking like he wanted to tackle Atsumu. “But we’ll let it slide—for now.”

Atsumu glanced at you, flashing that familiar grin. “Guess I’ll be visiting more often now.”

You rolled your eyes but couldn’t hide your smile. “You’re never going to stop causing trouble, are you?”

“Not a chance.”

Later that day...

After the chaos settled a bit, Atsumu found himself cornered by Karasuno’s starting lineup. You watched from a distance, chilling with Inarizaki, who had shown up to see what all the fuss was about.

“You better take care of her,” Daichi said, his voice low and threatening. “Because if you don’t…”

“We’ll beat you up,” Tanaka finished, cracking his knuckles for emphasis.

Nishinoya nodded vigorously. “No mercy.”

Even Kageyama, who hadn’t said much this whole time, was standing with his arms crossed, silently glaring at Atsumu. His intense stare did more than enough talking for him. It was clear: Atsumu was on thin ice.

Atsumu, to his credit, didn’t back down. He just grinned that same cocky grin. “I wouldn’t dream of hurtin’ her. But thanks for the heads-up.” He held up his hands in mock surrender, but his eyes glinted with amusement. “I get it, I get it. Take care of her, or I’m dead.”

Satisfied for the moment, Karasuno finally backed off, though they were still watching Atsumu like hawks.

Meanwhile, you sat on the bleachers with Osamu and Suna, who had been watching the whole thing with mild amusement.

“Can’t believe ya managed to keep it a secret for three months,” Osamu said, shaking his head. “Didn’t think you could pull it off with this idiot as your boyfriend.”

“Oi!” Atsumu called from across the gym, having heard his brother’s comment. “What’s that s’posed to mean?!”

Suna smirked lazily, glancing between you and Osamu. “Dealing with Atsumu must be exhausting. You have my condolences.”

You laughed, along with the rest of the Inarizaki boys. Despite all the drama, it was nice to know that both teams had your back—no matter how much they clashed.

After practice ended, Karasuno wasn’t quite done with you and Atsumu. You found yourself dragged into the clubroom, where Daichi, Suga, Tanaka, and Nishinoya sat you both down like they were about to conduct a police interrogation.

Suga smiled sweetly, but you could feel the tension in the room. “Alright, let’s get some answers. How did this start? And why didn’t you tell us sooner?”

You glanced at Atsumu, who just shrugged like this was no big deal. “We met at nationals. Kinda hit it off, y’know? Textin’ led to more textin’… then calls… and, well, here we are.”

Tanaka leaned forward, narrowing his eyes. “But why keep it a secret? You didn’t trust us?”

“No, no! It wasn’t that,” you said quickly. “We just didn’t want it to get... complicated.”

“Complicated?” Noya repeated, raising an eyebrow. “You mean you didn’t want us freaking out and chasing him around the gym?”

You both exchanged a look.

“Maybe a little,” you admitted with a grin. “But you guys kinda proved us right.”

There was a beat of silence before Daichi cleared his throat. “We’re not trying to be overbearing. We just want to make sure you’re happy, Y/N. And that you’re with someone who treats you right.”

Atsumu, for once, looked serious as he nodded. “I get it. But trust me—I ain’t gonna mess this up. I’m crazy about her.”

Karasuno’s members exchanged glances, and finally, Suga sighed with a small smile. “Okay. But we’re keeping an eye on you, Miya. One wrong move, and—”

“I know, I know.” Atsumu raised his hands again. “I’ll behave.”

The interrogation ended on a somewhat lighter note, but as you walked out of the room with Atsumu by your side, you could still feel the weight of Karasuno’s watchful eyes.

“They’re never gonna let this go, are they?” you asked, glancing up at him.

“Nah,” Atsumu chuckled, throwing an arm around your shoulder. “But it’s kinda sweet, ain’t it? Means they care about ya.”

You smiled, leaning into him as you both headed out of the gym. “Yeah. I guess it does.”

The secret was out, and while it had been a wild ride, you felt relieved. Despite all the threats and teasing, you knew you were surrounded by people who had your back—whether they were from Karasuno or Inarizaki.

And as for Atsumu? Well, you had a feeling he was going to enjoy riling up Karasuno for a long time to come.

F1 Grid (1/2) | Pranking The Parents

ʚ・max verstappen

spending time with max and his sister, victoria, was always entertaining.

the three of you were lounging in the verstappen living room, a race playing faintly in the background while max scrolled through his phone, feet kicked up on the coffee table.

you stretched dramatically, looking over at him. “babe, can you grab me some water from the kitchen?”

max didn’t even glance up, completely deadpan as he muttered—

“do i look like your assistant?”

silence.

you barely had time to process what happened next.

victoria’s head snapped toward max so fast, you swore she almost gave herself whiplash.

her eyebrows shot up, pure disbelief etched across her face.

“max, what the hell? be nice.”

max, still committed to the bit, shrugged. “what? she can walk.”

victoria’s expression darkened.

and before max could react, a pillow came flying across the room, smacking him directly in the face.

you gasped, quickly covering your mouth to hold back laughter.

max blinked, stunned, the pillow still resting in his lap. “did you just—”

victoria crossed her arms, unimpressed. “go help her before i make you regret it.”

max groaned, dragging himself off the couch like it was the biggest inconvenience of his life. “fine. but i want it on record that i was forced.”

you smirked as he trudged toward the kitchen, victoria shaking her head in pure disappointment.

“you put up with that?” she asked, exasperated.

you grinned. “eh, he’s useful sometimes.”

from the kitchen, max’s voice rang out. “i heard that.”

ʚ・lewis hamilton

family dinners with the hamiltons were always a warm affair, good food, laughter, and anthony hamilton’s unmatched ability to tell stories that had everyone hooked.

you nudged lewis gently. “babe, can you grab me a drink from the fridge?”

without missing a beat, he shrugged lazily, not even looking up from his plate.

“you have legs, don't you?”

the table fell silent.

lewis barely registered the shift in energy before his dad, anthony hamilton himself, slowly turned to him.

“lewis carl davidson hamilton.”

lewis froze mid-bite. oh, no.

anthony placed his fork down with a deliberate slowness that made the whole moment so much worse.

“what did you just say to y/n? ‘she has legs?’ well, so do you, be a gentleman!”

your hand was clamped over your mouth, trying so hard not to laugh.

lewis, already feeling the heat, looked around for an escape route. “dad, it’s a joke—”

anthony didn’t let him finish.

“no, what’s a joke is me raising a son who forgets his manners.”

at that moment, lewis knew he had lost.

sighing dramatically, he pushed back his chair, already getting up. “alright, alright, i’m going!”

anthony nodded approvingly, taking a sip of his drink. “that’s more like it.”

as lewis disappeared into the kitchen, you exchanged a knowing glance with his dad, who simply smirked.

“give him a hard time, yeah?” anthony murmured, and you grinned.

“oh, always.”

ʚ・george russell

you reached for the sugar but stopped just short, looking at george. “babe, can you pass me the sugar?”

george barely glanced up from his tea, a smirk creeping onto his lips.

“what, are your hands broken?”

silence.

dramatic, suffocating, judgmental silence.

then—a sharp gasp.

“george william russell!”

george physically flinched.

his mother had set her teacup down with force, staring at him like he had just committed high treason against the british monarchy.

he looked between you and his mum, instantly regretting everything.

“mum, it’s not that serious,” he tried, hands slightly raised in defense.

alison placed a hand over her chest, shaking her head in pure disappointment.

“it is very serious. where did i go wrong with you?”

you were seconds away from losing it, biting the inside of your cheek to keep from laughing.

finally, you cracked, giggling as you waved your hands in surrender.

“it’s a prank!” you admitted, barely able to get the words out.

george sighed in relief, running a hand through his hair. “bloody hell, you nearly got me disowned.”

alison, however, was unfazed, lifting her tea to her lips as she shook her head.

“y/n, you could do so much better.”

george nearly spilled his tea.

“mu—are you serious?!”

you grinned, winking at alison.

“maybe.”

ʚ・carlos sainz

reyes sainz effortlessly kept everyone in check without even raising her voice.

which is exactly why you knew this prank would be perfect.

the family was gathered around the table, laughter and conversation flowing easily as you reached for your glass.

you turned to carlos, your voice sweet. “cariño, can you grab me a napkin?”

carlos, not even looking up from his plate, shrugged.

“get it yourself.”

silence.

instant. deafening. silence.

you felt the temperature drop by ten degrees as carlos’ mother, reyes, slowly set down her fork.

then, in the calmest, most dangerous voice, she said—

“perdón?” (excuse me?)

carlos finally looked up, suddenly very aware that the entire table was staring at him.

you could feel the panic radiating off him as he quickly backtracked, already regretting every life choice that led him to this moment.

reyes’ gaze remained sharp, assessing.

then, with the slightest tilt of her head, she said—

“carlos, go get it before i do something you’ll regret.”

carlos shot up so fast, his chair nearly tipped over as he rushed to the napkin holder.

you lost it, laughter spilling out as the entire table erupted in amusement.

reyes simply shook her head, taking a sip of her wine. “you two are ridiculous, but, y/n, if he ever speaks to you like that again, you tell me.”

carlos, returning defeated, dropped the napkin in front of you with a glare.

you grinned, leaning in. “what's it like getting scolded by your mother, amor?”

ʚ・charles leclerc

spending time with charles and his brothers, arthur and lorenzo, was always entertaining.

three leclerc men in one room meant a mix of teasing, bickering, and an unspoken rule that charles could never win an argument.

which is why you knew this prank would be gold.

“oh, charles, can you grab my sunglasses from the car?”

charles, casually sipping his espresso, waved a hand dismissively.

“that's far, get it yourself”

silence.

dead. serious. silence.

arthur whipped his head around so fast, you thought he might get whiplash.

“charles. that’s not how you talk to your girlfriend.”

lorenzo, who had been calmly eating his meal, set his fork down with purpose.

“apologize. immediately.”

charles’ expression shifted from smug to terrified in under two seconds.

his green eyes darted between his brothers, realization dawning that he was outnumbered, outgunned, and completely screwed.

“guys, relax, it’s not that—”

arthur leaned forward, voice dead serious. “no. apologize.”

you pressed your lips together, trying not to laugh, but the way charles was visibly sweating was making it so much harder.

finally, you cracked, bursting into laughter.

arthur and lorenzo turned to you, confused, as you giggled uncontrollably.

“it’s a prank,” you admitted, wiping away a tear.

arthur sat back, sighing dramatically. “i was about to throw my fork at you, charles.”

lorenzo took another sip of his drink, completely unfazed. “the threat still stands.”

charles muttered something under his breath as he begrudgingly got up to fetch your sunglasses.

you smirked, watching him walk away. “i love this family.”
