Are you gonna pay me?
me refreshing tumblr at 2:55 AM: where yall going?
4/11/22: Roots
Narrator: Leshy
You: None
We spent so long separated
Nothing in between
Always just so far apart
One would expect us to change
and be far different
but some things really do stay the same
We can't escape our roots
They keep us alive
Giving us water
and grounding us to the same place
But the machine is still different from the tree
We always only had one thing in common
Our roots grow from the same place
and everything else changed
There's one place we came from
and one place we share
our roots will always be there
Request from @kyoshi-with-a-gun: "why P03s game mirrors Leshy's, despite the multitude of directions it could go."
Note: I'll add a bottom section if the poem is based on a request, to confirm that a submitter's request is answered. Otherwise, the poem will be left up to interpretation. (Idea from @modronoid)
I want AUs of games and stuff that is literally just that game plus OLD_DATA. (I would like fan work of inscryption itself more but still)
what you wanted to play Mario? well Luigi found something in a golden block and now you are playing dolls with him in his now silent mansion.
wanted UNDERTALE? well flowey thinks you would like to play a board game that feels faintly like the layout of new home.
i don’t understand how people can think chara is evil? chara is a child who was abused before running away to commit suicide which failed, and they’re adopted into a new kind and caring family. they didn’t hate their family they loved them very much. chara loved their family so much they were willing to sacrifice themselves so their family could be happy. yeah they hated humanity??? their only experience with humans was mostly likely cruelty. they wanted all of humanity dead???? no! oh but asriel says “they weren’t the best person”!! nobody is the best??? nobody is perfect?? asriel was telling frisk that chara had their flaws. chara calls themselves “the demon who comes when people call it’s name”!! asriel calls himself “the god of hyperdeath”! they’re a child! and don’t you dare use the no mercy run! chara is taught by the player that killing is the right thing to do. you teach them that it’s right. like- like noelle in snowgrave! nobody is blaming noelle for her actions in the snowgrave route! chara at the end of no mercy is like noelle in snowgrave. except you didn’t realize you were actively manipulating chara, and you are aware with noelle. and chara still gives you chances in the end of no mercy. chara isn’t evil they’re a child. chara is a victim.
I check "drag to hell" in the rules. (this is the third time the rulebook has been used and two of them are me lol)
[I'll start a new thread every battle/important event or so]
E.B stands up from his chair and goes to the painting to investigate.
*There’s three items inside the painting, A Cane, a Feather, and a Leaf, there’s also a code written on the bottom, 314, putting this code into the safe does nothing, put setting the clock time to 3:14 gives you a ring, The Mycologist is finished setting up the Trapper’s station, and you can hear him attempting to get a deep voice for the character*
Rb this post to hand your aro mutuals a weapon
more worldbuilding time.
outsiders as I said are magic in a mundane world, but in appearance they look almost human. (After all, they have to look SOMETHING like the creatures in the rest of the heresy). they all have some sort of human form, with a distinctly unique inhuman trait such as mushrooms growing out of them, fire like eyes, or devil horns. due to the inherent dangers of their magic, they often only form smaller towns or villages with many choosing to be completely alone.
insiders are monstrous in appearance but lack the variety or magic you would expect from monsters or darkners. while a monster may range from a loox to a moldsmal, an insider will always appear as a goat, rabbit, deer, or squirrel. believing in strength by numbers, they form sprawling civilizations without borders.
did this while thinking about the multiverse implications of deltarune. Outsiders(left) live in The Heresy, a location similar to earth, but the outsiders themselves are more akin to darkners or monsters. Insiders(right) are human-esque but live in a world of magic known as The Home.
yknow ever since people realized tumblr isnt dead and have decided to flock here from twitter and tiktok ive seen a huge influx of people in fandom spaces who dont reblog anything. at all.
like, i used to have an art blog with 340 followers. not a ton but not a small amount either given how this website works with creators. and in my experience back then even the ones who only left likes still reblogged other things or at least posted their own stuff. literally the only empty blogs were clearly bots.
but on this New art blog, i've had so many people with fandom-specific headers and icons with actual usernames as urls and some kind of title or description, but have. Nothing. no posts. all they do is like things. and it's always public, too. their following list and their likes list.
and honestly all it makes me think is that these people are New and also don't know how tumblr works. how likes don't give exposure. not even in a "oh, i know it doesn't give exposure, but i'm still going to reblog anyways" way, but in a genuine honest to god straight up doesn't realize tumblr likes don't work like twitter's.
PLEASE please if you're from tiktok or twitter or whatever please reblog people's art both fandom and original if you like it!! and maybe actually pad out your blog's content in some way so people won't potentially see you as a bot and block you.
REBLOG ARTIST'S WORK. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY THEY GET ANY ATTENTION ON THIS WEBSITE OH MY GOD. PLEASE. I BEG of you
really needed to draw this so bad thank you @chongoblog
more stuff on her cards, aesthetic, and more!
they are made by predictions, any time a prediction in her notebook turns out to be true a tarot card-esque incryption card is made. these usually manifest as humanoids with a few exceptions, but rarer cards become more and more outlandish until it is basically those rings of fire and eyeballs angels. despite this, many still keep to human titles for names even past the point of the card being recognizably human.
due to their nature, they logically shouldn’t be able to trap people in cards, but I guess if P03 can figure out how to inscribe a mage and fisherman in a CTRL+C machine for bots, then I can just handwave that.
her temple aesthetic is a bit akin to that of liminal spaces. in the 2nd act, her bunker will have puzzle rooms that appear to be recreations of various places both in-game and outside of it, but glaringly empty and off putting. in her own act, these are kept the same, now even more disturbing in a 3D environment where more details SHOULD appear but don’t. the rest of her bunker, however, is exactly the kind of normal dreary metal place you would expect to have that name.
She is a nuisance but isn’t really enough of a planner to have a grand evil scheme like the others; The first thing she does is create a backup of her game on the main computer so her act can be replayed endlessly (even after the disk’s deletion, like K mod), but beyond that doesn’t have a clue what she could achieve with such power.
So, I’ve seen a lot of really cool OCs and this is the first fandom I’ve been “early”-ish too, so here’s an Inscryption oc! (Sorry for odd spacing or grammar, it was written in notepad).
GENERAL
-she can “predict” things in a more vaugue sense, she has no future sight but is analytical enough to guess major events. this is on a human skill level.
-she loves fantastical stories as she cannot predict them and are her main comfort when things go wrong.
-is excited about the prospect of a challenger but will still be able to play with the other scrybes regardless. she is perhaps the only scrybe to actively duel other scrybes.
-acts like an adult for the most part, but absolute idiot when it comes to responsibility, humility or politeness.
-got turned into a sheep in Leshy’s act, with the “frantic” sigil that makes it move into any empty space it can, and the “softer” sigil that automatically blocks all damage under three. you would find her card wedged in the doorframe after all tutorial deaths are complete. Leshy does not recall putting her there.
RELATIONS
-friendship with Leshy: good-ish. they both love storytelling but Leshy more thinks of her as “the weird cryptid that appears at the dead of night in the corner of my eye, just to ask for a card battle”. He appreciates being able to play with somebody but would prefer a person with basic manners and respect.
-friendship with Magnificus: horrible. She doesn’t like Mag because of how entitled and prick-ish he acts. Mag doesn’t like her because he is 45% sure she is a challenger playing a prank, 95% sure that the bunker isn’t real and accepting the “birthday party” invitation will end disastrously, and 99.99% sure that she should leave if she is going to whine at every loss.
-friendship with Grimora: act like old friends. Grimora is pretty used to people appearing from nowhere being the scrybe of the dead and all.
-friendship with P03: tolerable. P03 likes to flex his card skills without too much small talk, and she can be somewhat decent at that if it means getting to play.
CARDS her card’s mechanics can be found here: https://www.tumblr.com/blog/view/kyoshi-with-a-gun/673875112536178688 though they need some tweaks.
HER TEMPLE -she has no subordinates in her bunker and will instead fight you four times. to initiate each combat round, you must collect a key hidden in/around the bunker map.
-in the first fight, she will simply play tension cards.
-in the second fight, she will modify which cards she is going to play depending on the cards on your side.
-in the third fight, she does the same but with stronger cards, relying heavily on sigils.
-in the fourth fight, she will repeat fight number three with more difficulty in round 1, but then use her notebook to predict your actions. from then on, if you attack a space that she thinks you will, she will generate a tension card equal to the damage count.
-without subordinates, she would instead use Leshy, Grimora, and finally the Challenger for bosses in an act.
-after gaining power, she would make Leshy and Grimora cards by writing a prediction of them dying, then delete the mage tower and bridge to the eastern areas. Leshy would be the hunter, and Grimora the High Priestess. she would let you physically travel the islands, and even reward you for your discoveries.
-P03 would be alive as well but left to his/its own devices.
-would actually talk to the Grimora and Leshy cards and let Leshy help with the story but cannot comprehend the reason that her taking power is so bad since it is the exact same thing that Leshy did.
let me know what you think!
