have you ever been scared of who you're drawing..........

thinking about the ending where kara, luther and alice end up in canada, trying their best to blend in. i know ppl talk about how it maybe isn’t such a great ending a lot but it’s on my Mind. it’d all be so stressful and like a sustained effort, i feel like. when kara/luther have to get a job, what would they do for when they have breaks and have to forego eating? i suppose this would depend on the job, and whether they would be around coworkers in a break room and such,would they have to remind themselves to mime drinking? would they have to do a slight reprogramming so that they automatically cry out in pain if an injury were to occur? the risk of a workplace accident would be dangerous for more than one reason, because if it’s bad enough their synthetic nature will be on full display (a cut on an arm, breaking a limb and that kind of thing. even accidentally getting hit and their skin retracts). would they have to adjust their house in case of human guests so it wasn’t insanely suspicious. like keep food in the house, maybe non perishables so they don’t have to meaninglessly restock and waste money. turn the fridge on and haphazardly throw a few things in there. it doesn’t have to be much, just enough, just in case there’s a comment so they can laugh and exclaim how grocery shopping is long overdue! buy cutlery, plates and bowls. i feel like there’d be quite a lot in the average house that would be superfluous to an android, but a detail they can’t afford to forget in case that’s the final clue that’s just slightly out of place that fits the puzzle pieces together for a suspicious human

and of course the obvious probably getting recognised by their faces as androids. and the fact that alice never ages. i’ve said it before, but would they have to move every few years to a new place before it becomes alarming how alice’s appearance isn’t changing? alice never being able to form meaningful friendships because they all start to grow up without her… i worry that over time this would just turn into self hatred, wishing desperately she was like them. that perfect picture of human normalcy always juuuust out of reach. kara and luther heartbroken and not sure what to do to help her. maybe they come across another yk child in canada at some point in this journey, and they can connect :(
