Here are two bitterly divorced colleagues who want to kill each other, and only they are allowed to kill each other, and also they hate fuck sometimes

And then,

Here are two people who are so intertwined that they met each other before they knew each other, they saved each other from suicide, they cannot live without the other, they ascended into gay stardust/the fabric of reality, and are something more than just platonic or romantic

Yes, Jayce Talis would practically become Victor Frankenstein or a necromancer to keep Viktor with him, but you know who else would do it? Machine Herald. I just know that mf would turn Giopara half machine just to keep him alive and I honestly think it doesn't matter if is out of love, or bc he wants to prove his work was worth, because both are quite interesting to explore. That's why, for me, vikjayce is a step ahead, bc with Arcane you know is 100% devotion, in og lore?? They have a false screen of a simple dynamic, but they are both trapped in that false dynamic while also beliving thats the only way for them. It could be any reason or no reason at all. Vengeance or love, love and vengeance.
