it's always really hard for me to explain how I draw hands lol, but basically I draw the palm and the basic shapes and build the fingers around that. I go into each hand I draw with an idea of how the pose is gonna look and that informs how I angle the palm and how I incorporate the fingers

One thing I think is important is overall flow. The knuckles should curve along the same line, it feels more realistic to how hands work irl and it makes them feel more dynamic and stuff too

if you're gonna do wacky perspective/foreshortening stuff, the thing that's gonna make your hands feel grounded in reality is some contour lines, you don't need a lot but some indication of knuckles etc. will help your hands not feel flat

The funniest hyperfixations have gotta be the ones where you watch something and go "this thing is cute. I like it. not sure if Id call it a favorite of mine but its definitely enjoyable at least" and then cut to a month later and its completely overtaken your life

I haven't been posting much lately. It's been a little bit of time now when I don't really feel like drawing, I think I'm hitting an art block :/

But on the other side, I started new hobbys, and I got into reading again! I think I read more in three week than the entire year of 2024
