I remembered reading the webtoon during quarantine and I stumbled on this on Netflix. And lo and behold my faves are amazing even in live action.
Also can we agree that my guy is a mood?
SWEET HOME 스위트홈 (2020)
"You've known queens and princesses. Did they dance with demons and practice the black arts?
Lady Shiera does. Lord Bloodraven's paramour. She bathes in blood to keep her beauty."
Lady Shiera Seastar, daughter of King Aegon IV and his last mistress, Serenei of Lys.
About a year ago I was sitting in a really shitty corporate cafe and reading a book about medieval astronomy. There was a passage about how when we look up at the sky, we see titanic balls of gas all whirling about according to physics, but when a medieval person looked up at the sky, they saw literal divine clockwork turned by uncountable invisible spirits.
I was sitting in a shitty cafe, and I had a moment of realization. I knew logically that's how people used to see the night sky, but something about that moment just clicked. I felt what I can only describe as intellectual vertigo, as I realized "holy shit the world is really different than it was 700 years ago."
Luthien Tinuviel, one of my favorite badass ladies in the Silmarillion.... this is only the basic greyscale-ish stage, and I still have to put in the background, colors, light and a billion billions details , but I still like how this is turning out.
Sir James Clark Ross and Francis Crozier Adventures in Antartica on TV when?
Come on, it got everything! Love! Amazing seamanship! Bird shooting! Penguins running amok! Sailors vs Icebergs! Bromance! Birdshit Island!
Anyway, I think it should happen.
Then Fingon the valiant, son of Fingolfin, resolved to heal the feud that divided the Noldor, before their Enemy should be ready for war; for the earth trembled in the Northlands with the thunder of the forges of Morgoth underground ⁜
It has been a year an a half since I began painting digitally. Before I only worked with traditional media, mainly oil and watercolor, but between med school and moving to another city for studying, traditional painting became a little impractical. The first picture is my first finished digital painting (done on IbisPaint, on a stylus-less samsung tablet) and the second one is one of the paintings I am more proud of ( on infinite painter, on a samsung tablet with s-pen).
I do miss painting with traditional media but shifting to digital allowed me to grow a lot and keep painting in the scraps of time, which is GREAT. I also improved a lot beacuse I felt freer to experiment without the fear of ruining a piece forerver ( God bless the undo button, my saint and patron).
In case you are wondering, the first picture represents Sunspear, the seat of house Martell. I kinda love the concept and as soon as I have the time I wil probably paint in again. The second one, of course, is Carcosa from "The King in Yellow", reimagined for my "Tales of the Dreamer" project.
speaking of doodles I never finished baby I’m brining and london boys song posters why did I never finish youuuuu
Fly or die (the Last Greenseer)
I was reading A Song of Ice and Fire (again) and I felt like painting Bran's "fly or die" dream. The problem is that my brain is broken and I ended up thinking about the Three Eyed Crow and how he probably may have learned greensight the same way from his predecessor... so here is Brynden Rivers being taught the fine art the greenseer by almost being impaled on oniric spikes.
(In my headcanon this happened while he was recovering from the Redgrass Field)
The classical piece I fell in love with as a child (thanks mom). Still in love with it. How could I not be.
Italian med student with an obsession for painting. Also a mythology and history nerd. Give me a book and I'll give you my heart.
