This is a nice sign to look at. 10/10 for composition.
he looks so confident
So I've been binge watching twin peaks and I can't believe I waited so long. It has everything. Beautiful imagery, creepy and unsettling vibes, owls that are not what they seem, my crush Audrey Horne (a goddess who deserves better), A LOT of fan theories and lore, the whole Blue Rose thing ... I am in love.
Also Phillip Jeffries the Teapot from Mars.
Here's a sketch of Diane, inspired by a scene in this fic.
Painting winter forests is just as difficult as painting buildings in three point perspective, I found out. Guess I'll take a break from this one for a while and work a while on Alagadda until all those edges and angles make me yearn for trees, water and dead bodies again.
I am really happy about how it's turning out and I can't wait to finish it, but if I paint another tree I'll kill myself.
The Dreamer returns to Alagadda looking for a way to escape her fate.
Just some pretty lineart for a bigger painting, always for "Tales of the Dreamer".
Right now med school is killing me (I have two exams in as many days, just let me die), but, as always when I am stressed and sleep deprived, I am also quite inspired ( meaning: I have a LOT of weird ideas), so... silver linings am I right?
Watercolor and gouache sketch based on the photos from the Yellow Submarine premiere, featuring (left to right) unimpressed, ridicolously long lashed Paul, a VERY stylish and VERY judging George, a background almost invisible Ringo and foreground JohnandYoko.
They all are so much fun to draw, their faces are just so caricature worthy.
The dysfunctional House of Finwë at one of its finest moments, work in progress.
This will surely take me ten thousands years but it's fine. That's what the lockdown is for. And I do love my doomed Noldor.
(Sketching this was so HARD. It took me 20 perfectly happy minutes to sketch Nolofinwë, but Feanaro... I redrew him at least ten times before landing on this pose...and I am sure I will tweak it a thousand times in the greyscale rendering)
Took a break from england to listen to the new History of Byzantium and I'm just immensely charmed by the anecdote about how the Niceans very carefully brought Mongol ambassadors to court via the route that required going through as many mountain passes as possible to try and minimize how invadable-by-horse-archers they seemed.
where is that renaissance painting with those two fellers and a giant fucking random skull on the floor that looks like it was accidentally stretched out in photoshop
Eukaryotic cell gang!! We love women in STEM.
The organelles of the cells have been translated into human anatomy, so the nucleus is the brain, the vacuole function as the lungs, and the mitochondria is the heart since it’s the… you already know, I don’t have to say it ;)
I cannot stand the parodies of modern major general, they're overdone and simply not as good as the original. They've done them about everything, whatever topic, big or small.
And when i notice one of them my eyes will always start to roll.
The diction's always slurry when they rush the complicated words, and adding many fricatives will turn it so cacophonous. The slanted rhymes are silly and they keep just making more and more, please someone stop the parodies of modern major general.
The scanning of the lyrics in the meter is unbearable, they emphazise the syllables in ways that are untenable, in short in matters musical, prosodic and ephemeral, i cannot stand the parodies of modern major general!
“Settling on a cheery yellow couch near a vase of fresh flowers, he mentions being struck by Harrison’s openness on the psychological havoc wreaked by Beatlemania – a frequent topic in Martin Scorsese’s Harrison film. “I think we all experienced the trauma that George vocalized,” McCartney says. “I liked to hear George talking about it, because he’s getting it out in the open. For me, it’s something that was more internalized, and my upbringing would lead me to say, ‘Yeah, OK, it’s a trauma, but get on with it.’ It’s like, “Yeah, what are you gonna do, sit around and moan? You were just in the most famous band in the world. You wanted to be, it pays good money, you’ve had a lot of great times, and some shitty times, so what are you going to do, concentrate on the shitty times or just deal with it?‘””

Laugh when your eyes are burning Smile when your heart is filled with pain Sigh as you brush away your sorrow Make a vow That it’s not going to happen again It’s not right, in one life Too much rain You know the wheels keep turning Why do the tears run down your face We used to hide away our feelings But for now Tell yourself it won’t happen again It’s not right, in one life Too much rain It’s too much for anyone Too hard for anyone Who wants, a happy and peaceful life You’ve got to learn to laugh

Italian med student with an obsession for painting. Also a mythology and history nerd. Give me a book and I'll give you my heart.
