"Concerning the Three Rings Sauron could learn nothing from Celebrimbor; and he had him put to death. But he guessed the truth, that the Three had been committed to Elvish guardians: and that must mean to Galadriel and Gil-galad.
In black anger he turned back to battle; and bearing as a banner Celebrimbor's body hung upon a pole, shot through with Orc-arrows, he turned upon the forces of Elrond."
The death of Celebrimbor (my love for doomed Noldor is resurfacing in strength)
Annushka ( who had already bought the sunflower oil, and has not only bought it but has already spilled it, so there will be no meeting)
A favorite passage from my favorite novel.
Quick painting done during boring compulsory lecture.
This is the kinda shit I wanna see Ungoliant do
Scrolling through my old photos I found this relic from 2020, Aramis, aka René d'Herblay aka the bishop of Vannes ecc, as described in the Three musketeers by Dumas.
Recovering from the winter exam season by rereading some good @therealvinelle and @thecarnivorousmuffinmeta fics, in this case this amazing one that inspired me to paint THE most satisfying moment to ever appear offscreen the murder and immolation by fire of the ever annoying Eleazar and poor Carmen, whose main fault is her horrible taste in men. Poor Carmen. Also I love Jasper in this fic.
As per usual the casting is consistent with the muffinelle verse as per this post.
THE FOOL ON THE HILL . recorded: September 25-27 / October 20, 1967 filmed: October 31, 1967, in Nice
PAUL: I used to know Marijke [member of “The Fool”, the Dutch design collective and band], she was a quite striking-looking girl. She used to read my fortune in Tarot cards, which was something I wasn’t too keen on because I didn’t want to draw the death card one day. I still don’t like that kind of stuff because I know my mind will dwell on it. I always steered a bit clear of all that shit, but in fact it always used to come out as the Fool. And I used to say, ‘Oh, dear!’ and she used to say, ‘No no no. The Fool’s a very good card. On the surface it looks stupid, the Fool, but in fact it’s one of the best cards, because it’s the innocent, it’s the child, it’s that reading of fool.’ So I began to like the word ‘fool’, because I began to see through the surface meaning. I wrote ‘The Fool on the Hill’ out of that experience of seeing Tarot cards. (…) I think I was writing about someone like Maharishi. His detractors called him a fool. Because of his giggle he wasn’t taken too seriously. It was this idea of a fool on the hill, a guru in a cave, I was attracted to. I remember once hearing about a hermit who missed the Second World War because he’d been in a cave in Italy, and that always appealed to me. I was sitting at the piano in at my father’s house in Liverpool hitting a D 6th chord and I made up ‘Fool on the Hill’. There were some good words in it, ‘perfectly still’, I liked that, and the idea that everyone thinks he’s stupid appealed to me, because they still do. Saviours or gurus are generally spat upon, so I thought for my generation I’d suggest that they weren’t as stupid as they looked. [myfn]

PAUL: It was during that time, A-levels time, I remember thinking, in many ways I wish I was a lorry driver, a Catholic lorry driver. Very very simple life, a firm faith and a place to go in my lorry, in my nice lorry. I realised I was more complex than that and I slightly envied that life. I envied the innocence. [myfn]
One of my favorite German artists from the Weimar era is Jeanne Mammen. My favorite painting from her is this 1928 watercolor of lesbians at a masked ball.

Luthien Tinuviel in the halls of Menegroth
"As Beren looked into her eyes
Within the shadows of her hair
The trembling starlight of the skies
He saw there mirrored shimmering.
Tinuviel the elven-fair,
Immortal maiden elven-wise,
About him cast her shadowy hair
And arms like silver glimmering"
It has been a year an a half since I began painting digitally. Before I only worked with traditional media, mainly oil and watercolor, but between med school and moving to another city for studying, traditional painting became a little impractical. The first picture is my first finished digital painting (done on IbisPaint, on a stylus-less samsung tablet) and the second one is one of the paintings I am more proud of ( on infinite painter, on a samsung tablet with s-pen).
I do miss painting with traditional media but shifting to digital allowed me to grow a lot and keep painting in the scraps of time, which is GREAT. I also improved a lot beacuse I felt freer to experiment without the fear of ruining a piece forerver ( God bless the undo button, my saint and patron).
In case you are wondering, the first picture represents Sunspear, the seat of house Martell. I kinda love the concept and as soon as I have the time I wil probably paint in again. The second one, of course, is Carcosa from "The King in Yellow", reimagined for my "Tales of the Dreamer" project.
VERY quick Book!Snape sketch. (30 min)
This evening my Harry Potter-loving friend called and we ended up talking about my problematic fave (even if I am not that much into the fandom I still enjoy both the books and the movies), so I had to sketch him. He is wearing muggle clothes just because I am too lazy to draw his wizard attire.
Italian med student with an obsession for painting. Also a mythology and history nerd. Give me a book and I'll give you my heart.
