Call me Gallium, Yttrium, Arsenic, Helium, Carbon, and Potassium bc I’m 🏳️🌈 GaY As HeCK 🏳️🌈
you could also replace Hellium with Fluorine and Uranium and it’s still true
Aight so Poppy Playtime moment of some random rant stuff
Kevin is autistic. Like there’s no freaking way he’s not. He’s clearly a morally good kid, and he seems sweet, and he has friends- as shown in the chapter three tape where a kid named Joseph is asking if Kevin will be okay. I hate when people just depict him as a chronically angry kid T^T during the Doey battle, we hear him say “Too loud”, seemingly referring to nothing in particular. He *could* be referring to the fact that there are three different people making up Doey, but I don’t think so. Personally, that just sounds very much like overstimulation to me. Kevin is considered a ‘problem child’, and also seems to have difficulty regulating and understanding his emotions. As an autistic person, I relate to that a lot, though I don’t have the same response to triggers as Kevin TvT
I like to think that Kevin is autistic, Jack is ADHD, and Matthew is neurotypical just so that it’s like Doey has collected the whole trilogy like Pokémon
Also Kissy Missy is the literal definition of comfort character material. She’s soft and fluffy, helps us even when she doesn’t have to, risks her life and LOSES HER ARM trying to save us at the end of chapter four. Even when Poppy betrays us she tries to protect us. Like my freaking god if that isn’t comfort character material, idk what is
Lobes your story btw, I really like the idea and the execution so far has been pretty well done. Sorrs, I didn’t know where I could tell you this so this was my resort lmao (I really, really love it so far, and I honestly just felt like you needed to know that tbh)
Tysm!!! That means a lot to me; it’s my first fanfiction where I’ve gotten this far! :D
Concept: Daisuke comes out as something other than straight (ofc) and the crew surprises him with a coming-out party instead of the shared birthday and it was Swansea’s idea but he’d never admit it
KITTYYY :DDD
Drew some baby Strangers based on kittens from around the internet I really liked, send more kittens to draw
I personally think it’d taste like chocolate-chip cookie dough with the salt in the mixture being from tears
Basically, it’d taste like whatever food you’d eat straight out of the container while crying and watching you favorite show after a breakup or smth
Ddlc Monika ramble bc my hyperfixation is coming back and somehow settling alongside my Omori one
Alright so like. I hate how many people treat Monika like she’s pure jealousy and obsession :/ especially given everything she’s gone through. I’d like to make a couple of points here, and analyze some of the lines from her poems (not all) to give more insight into what was going on in her mind. All the poem screenshotted are from FandomWiki, I believe.
The first part of this poem is a direct reference to when Monika gains ‘kernal access’ to her game- or more simply, self awareness. The hole appears a metaphor for a screen- She wasn’t looking into the screen, she was looking out. And the player is looking in. The second part realizing that her friends aren’t even real. She’s starting to see herself as something else than the others. And I don’t think it’s in a narcissistic way- In this case, she IS different now, because she doesn’t have a script that all her actions follow, unlike her friends. The people she cares deeply about aren’t even people; just lines in a script. The part at the end, about her brandishing her pen, is when she starts to edit the script, desperate for a way out.
I’d like to point out first that red, green, and blue are the primary colors when it comes to light- AND the colors of pixels on a screen. I can’t tell what the ‘noise’ she’s referring to exactly is; possibly a reference to anxiety, or existentialism? Most likely, in my opinion, is that it’s the game’s music. See how she compares the noise to a turntable, and a vinyl? That’s a direct connection to the music. And considering that the game’s music plays on loop… That wouldn’t exactly be fun to hear on loop for god knows how long 😬
The version of this poem from Act 2, I can’t see any meaning to the vowels missing, though perhaps someone else has. Generally, this poem just shows Monika’s mental health deteriorating further. Combined with the fully capitalized words, along with “Like playing a vinyl on a pizza crust” suddenly turning into “Like playing a KNIFE on a BREATHING RIBCAGE”- It really does mostly seem like we’re watching Monika go a bit insane. The words “KNIFE” and “BREATHING RIBCAGE” really exaggerate how much the noise really hurts her. (Also, personal comment is that this sounds a lot like overstimulation TvT)
This poem seems to be more metaphorical than the other two. ‘The Lady’ seems to refer to the game’s script- she’s a being who knows everything, knows Monika’s own thoughts and feelings, and she knows everything that can and will happen. Just like the game’s script. The imagery of Monika being a feather on the wind very much gives off the feeling of being helpless, unable to fight against the game’s script. The Lady tells her that there is no meaning, and no purpose- Likely how Monika really does feel. Nothing she does has any impact in the real world. The Lady telling Monika that “We seek only the impossible”- It’s directly telling us what it felt like when Monika learned she was the only character without a route for the player to take. There is no scripted world where Monika finds a happy ending with the player, the person she loves, the only thing she knows is real.
This last poem shows that she really doesn’t mean to hurt anyone. She doesn’t have any real malicious intent towards the other characters. She just wants to be happy.
Those are some thoughts I have on her poems. Something else I’d like to be considered is the fact that Monika knew everything her friends were going to say- including some of the harsher words her friends have used, or even thought about her. Along with the fact that her own friends were seemingly the only thing standing in the way of the player, and she’d just learned her friends weren’t even real.
Generally, I feel like people don’t empathize enough with Monika T^T this was a really long rant and idk what it accomplished but yeah-
Ooo that’s fair!!! I like this take very much :D
