Dr. Jekyll quietly worked on arranging some paperwork, a small breeze blowing in from the window and causing the edges of the papers to softly curl, Jekyll taking a single moment to smooth them back down.
Somewhere in the distance, the gentle sound of a piano could be heard playing from a nearby building. It would play the same few steps of a single tune, occasionally making a mistake before restarting the same tune following a gap of silence. Alongside it, the occasional sound of chatter and horses could be heard from the street.
After some time, Jekyll would quietly stand up, taking the papers and walking to the bookshelf where he would remove a folder and slip the papers inside. Then, he would tuck the folder into the back and return to his desk, taking a moment to look out the window and listen to the musical tune play gently; finally finishing the tune to the fullest for the first time since it had started before quieting.
Did you see or buy anything nice at the market? :0
I did! I bought some flowers and various ferns in order to liven up the office some — if we are to have any luck then we may be able to keep them alive until the spring so that we may place them within the flower boxes.
... Ah, but unfortunately, I have hardly the green thumb. Perhaps I should have waited until it was closer to the proper season?
Maybe your patients would like a cat being around? As long as it doesn't mess with your equipment, it should be fine, right?
Hah, fortunately, I am careful to shelf and lock and of our medicinal glasses. We would potentially be able to make it work by closing off Hastie’s office as well…? Regardless, I believe it best to consider this for some time before acting on this whim.
They are! Different topic, but do you like animals?
I do! I do not have any animals of my own, unfortunately, but I do appreciate them!
Maybe you're in luck, then! Let us know how it goes!
Of course. I will mention the result whenever I have the chance to ask her next.
Is it glowing?
It is. Yes. I have mistakingly touched something and appear to have become stuck. Is there a method to- Ehm, I touch something and return to the previous state or is it broken?
You're welcome! Don't die of a heart attack! :]
I will take care to avoid that.
Have you seen the kitty again since you last mentioned her?
No. An acquaintance of mine mentioned seeing a cat matching her description while passing by though. I believe she is well.
Welllll.. no. I honestly can't really describe it properly without ten layers of extra context, but imagine a writing machine that knows the answer to every question you can think of? A computer something along those lines!
Oh, do you mean like a typographer...? I am unsure as to whether the operator would know the answer to everything per se but I suppose that I can understand what you are stating?
Oh, that sounds nice!! Is there anything specific you like to get from the bakery?
I tend to prefer some of the more floral-flavored items from bakeries. The scones are quite lovely. The bakery that I tend to go to has such a lovely frosting that they put on their rose scones that is just truly spectacular! It is quite a subtle flavor but I hardly have any complaints about it! Do you favor any baked items as well?
