As the clouds roll in black and the timefall begins to drop from the sky, Sam finds himself without shelter for he and Lou. But nearby just happens to be a mechanic, who was conveniently unaffiliated with Bridges.

Thankfully Joel is about when Sam makes his impromptu house call, squalling baby in tow. They make quiet conversation, exchange their “It’s been awhiles” and then the offer comes up.

Stay.

If it were him alone, Sam would brave the timefall and BT’s no problem, hoof it back to his temporary shelter without another thought. But he had Lou to think of. She was cold, she was hungry, and food was running out fast.

So a decision was gonna have to be made, one way or another.

*One Shot*

Joel and Sam run into each other while out on separate runs, and decide two is better than one and work together to get the most out of what each is scavenging for.

When they finally take a moment to catch their breath, Sam notices trouble brewing on the horizon. Joel isn’t too worried but with the strange storms Sam has experienced in the past he’s not taking any chances.
