Being in the sanatorium (or what was left of it) still managed to prickle every inch of his skin in hot-cold weals of terror. Even with the dogs in tow, even with Fiddler leading the way, no part of that place was holy or right or good or safe or okay or -

Mike’s flashlight whipped to the side as Fiddler seemed to force his way through the wall itself, and when he (tentatively, obviously) crept in after him, the sight of the room tucked away from everything else was sort of a let-down in terms of scares...until he realized the thing in the chair was not, in fact, a dummy.

“JESUS HOTSAUCE CHRISTMASCAKE!” he sputtered, his mouth running on its own as he sprang back, Wolfie dutifully trotting over to serve as a barrier between him and that terrible thing. When Fiddler turned to look at him, fixing him with a stare equal parts incredulity and abject glee, all Mike could do was point, trying to sound more accusatory than terrified as he spat out, “You KNEW there was a fucking dead guy in here?!”

Fiddler’s good eye moved towards the mummified remains of one Dr. Jefferson Bragg for all of half a second before he looked to Mike again, mouth twisted in a jeering smirk; “Oh we’ll get to that,” he promised, “But first, what in God’s name was that you just said about cake?”

So I know everyone wants Eda to adopt Hunter, and yes, but also what if Mama Clawthorne adopted him instead. So he goes from Belos who is definitely a physical and mental abuser, to a mother who would do anything if she thought it was what was best for her kids. 🥰

(But if we stick with Eda adopting him, then can Mama Clawthorne be a grandma to Hunter)
