I like this high tower at the entrance. there's nothing else besides the Statue of the Seven in this tower, making it seem like it's here to house the Statue (or something else long gone but bear with me) I also like how unusual it is for Statues of the Seven to seem like an actual part of the environment and not just kind of there. obviously this could've been just an empty tower in ruins but it kinda makes it seem like this tower is here to house the Statue

so like... these Statues, how old are they? likely 500 years old for the current ones. but I always liked to think they've been a thing since the first Archons and they used to be updated to whoever is the current Archon but stopped being updated after the Cataclysm

obviously, if this Statue existed at the time it would be depicting Xbalanque. so I can't help but be here kinda wondering if Och-Kan had this tower built to keep his god's statue inside it 💀

what sword is this?? i'm looking on the wiki but can't find anything. this is NOT the Flute of Ezpitzal

if you draw the sword, you get teleported to a place where you can get an actual copy of the Flute of Ezpitzal to use on your def scaling sword users

which is above the clouds, far above the Ochkanatlan area (you can plunge to it), and is situated directly above the throne of the primal flame:

wonder if this is where Maghan was active, hence why his sword is here... especially the fog. okay it's above the clouds but I don't remember other areas above the clouds being this misty so -

i wonder if Och-Kan resided there, because this place is littered with his writings (note I to VI). it's directly accross the Ixlel's statue too... i doubt he resided in the underground but maybe stayed there to oversee the excavation?

oh and bonus:

giving us this idle and 2 updates later the possibility to photography ourselves next to corpses is giving me too much power second worst dragon he hunted, at least on my acc

This might be a hot take but every time someone hates on Natlan by comparing it to Fontaine, a angel loses its wings.

Granted I have not finished the Fontaine archon quest so I guess I can’t speak too much on it but so far I noticed the biggest differences between the two nations is that Fontaine is concentrated on current characters while Natlan is concentrated on the history of the land.

Do I wish more of the Natlan characters like Mavuika would be more fleshed out and interesting? Yes, it would be nice. Would it help the story more? Maybe. But again the current characters are not the point of what Natlan is.

Natlan as a whole focuses so much on its history and origins. All their traditions and tribes came from the original hero’s, the ancient names, the resurrection, the gadgets and tools they use, etc. Everything that Natlan is, mostly based on its history and lore.

I’ve noticed a trend with those who complain that Natlan is the worst nation and it’s those same people who beg for a skip button… why are you playing a STORY BASED game if you don’t want to read (not even cause most quests outside small side quests and world quests are voiced).

Let me make it clear, Natlan has flaws. It does. The stereotypes and lack of character development but it’s not the worst nation. With what it lacks, it makes up with the story. The lore within it is so immersive and huge, down to lore drops after lore drops about dragons to a finding out a normal human killed a sovereign and then made a deal with a shade who we later come face to face with in the AQ. 

Anyway rant over, I needed to get this out before I lost my mind.

Random doodle of Ajaw on my history review

I might be looking to deep into this but has anyone played the new Event yet? I was playing Kinich’s game mode and noticed how his layout almost looks like a temple…

For reference:

Is it just me or does that mark in the middle look to much like Ajaw’s little cheek blush (???). Also the lining around the stairs reminds me of the same marks on Ixlel’s statue. Just saying, imagine this is the same temple/ruin that kinich found Ajaw.

All this in some random side event with no lore (not even dialogue) attached to it, then again this feels like something hoyo would do.
