Scared of snakes? No worries… this one’s actually a lizard! Meet the slender glass lizard (Ophisaurus attenuatus). While you might spot it coiled up like a snake to intimidate foes, the resemblance is only superficial. Unlike snakes (which have ocular scales called brilles), this reptile has eyelids that can blink. Whereas snakes “hear” through vibrations, the slender glass lizard has ear holes (like humans). And while snakes can dislocate their jaw bones to swallow large prey whole, the slender glass lizard cannot. It typically dines on pint-sized prey like insects and small reptiles.

Cutie… patootie... agouti? You might know the capybara, but what about its distant cousin the red-rumped agouti (Dasyprocta leporina)? This wide-ranging mammal can be found in forests throughout northern South America including Colombia, Brazil, and Venezuela. Though smaller than its more famous relative, this hefty rodent can weigh up to 13 lbs (5.9 kg). It dines on a diet of fruit, nuts, and seeds. Like a squirrel, the agouti will bury surplus food to save for a later date. But sometimes this critter forgets to come back for its stash, spreading seeds throughout its habitat as a result.

My newest photography obsession is getting photos of Tofu grooming! I don't know why but these sorts of photos are so neat to me - I love seeing her caught mid-motion, grooming itself is always so fast so its neat to break down the routine they go through each time. Anyways I'm still working on getting clear shots of each grooming motion, but I'm quite happy how these ones came out as well!
stop apologizing for going off on long tangents or rambling in the group chats and discords. that is self-defeating language and it associates guilt with being excited or whatever. instead you should frame it as "so uh anyway thank you for coming to my ted talk on my pokemon oc's relationship to ethics and science whoops". it's funny it keeps the mood light it makes it easier to continue a conversation without the whole feeling of "do i tell them no its okay? like do i need to reassure them???" etc
I've noticed that I really enjoy this aesthetic.
