So, about 4 years ago, this fluffball showed up, and made friends with our Boxer, Morena. They spent a lot of time together in the following years - almost 3 - and Morrie left us, having had a loving and full life. Timber remains, and sleeps with one of Morrie's toys, on my toolbox bench, which, incidentally, is just about her favorite cold weather spot. She believes my wife is her personal posession.
