Modeled in the same composition as the famous dancing faun, this sculpture is made to be a juggler in a particularly crucial moment of an acrobatic trick.
The artist may also have had the Gemran word kunststückemachen in mind, which means both to juggle, and more literally, to make a work of art.
A play on words to describe this playful bronze.
Juggling Man, about 1610-1615, Adriaen de Vries. J. Paul Getty Museum.
actually the most significant difference between fanfiction and Serious Literature is by and large the latter is written by people whose life circumstances aligned such that they had at least the bare minimum of time and energy needed to write a novel, whereas fic authors will upload an equivalent amount of words in a single chapter update between the ceremony and reception on their wedding day because an earthquake hit and they “had some free time” while the search and rescue team was digging them out of the collapsed church
CAELUM
[noun]
1. the vault of heaven; firmament.
2. the sky.
3. atmosphere; climate; weather.
Etymology: from Latin cavus, “hollow”. Not to be confused with caelum derived from caedō, “I cut”.
[Benny Andersson - Halls of Heaven]
Read it. I don’t mind.
