happy pokemon day!
Hi! I stumbled across your lil pixel possum and I love him!!! I'm a knitter, and pixel art happens to translate really well to sweater charts, so I wanted to ask if it would be okay if I knit the possum onto a sweater? No profit would be made of course, except for my enjoyment :D And please tell me if that isn't alright and I won't do it! Your art is super cool, thank you for sharing it!!
of course! knitter & pixel artist solidarity 4ever ❤️❤️
the only thing i ask is to see it! let me know if you need the original image if it helps you :)
(this goes for everyone else too, if you want to make any non-profit crafts from my art!)

Oooooh my goodness your art is beautiful!!!! As an aspiring pixel artist (+indie game dev) may I ask the generic questions "what program do you use?" "Do you have any tips for beginners" and "What led you to this art form?"
also how do you make/ where do you get your beautiful colour pallettes? :0
sorry if you've already answered these!
thank you very much!! you have blessed me, i love answering questions 🥰 it will probably be Long but i'm nothing if not thorough 👌 good luck on your journey & i hope this helps!
"What program do you use?"
i use aseprite! i don't think there's anything that measures up to it, when considering both ease of use when starting + depth for later. sure, you can start with photoshop, or clip studio, or anything else... but you will regret not picking up aseprite at some point. ESPECIALLY for game dev.
add it to your steam wishlist, it's on sale often for as little as $5, and you will get an email when it goes on sale again!
"Do you have any tips for beginners?"
answered here!
"What led you to this art form?"
i think it can be boiled down to 3 things:
-nostalgia; specifically, for the old internet + forums, where pixel art reigned supreme
-i have loved art my whole life, but generally disliked traditional art mediums and found them frustrating
-i also tried digital art many times, but disliked the 'unlimited' feeling? if that makes sense... i find comfort in the constraints of pixels!
"Where do you get/How do you make your color palettes?"
i make them all myself! i have a basic palette i use, and i generally go into a piece with a palette in mind and adjust my 'starter' palette to accommodate to the specific feeling i want.
i've been thinking of making a tiktok to go more in depth about this as it's a bit too complicated for text!
