Nick the situation is dire, the community needs you to even out the scales by drawing brown haired Eddie trying to flirt with Batman.
Eh, screw it. I was gonna make a comment on my opinion/view of this but the comments have a word limit
I can't speak for this, even as a sharpwolf shipper, as I don't necessarily care who is shipped. If the AU or version is changed or if it isn't, that's not my business to yell at someone for. I just like shipping for all ships, mlm, wlw, even straight ones (For example, OdyPen is literally so awesome but OdySeidon is also fun to play around with. I haven't seen other ships for Penelope tho?)
Could also just be context, different versions or tellings of the story could allow for more ideas or creative decisions to take place
Though fandom spaces and people in general still seem to sort of fetishize queer ships, that part is very obvious, it doesn't mean you have to hate the whole damn lot because of it. Mlm ships are just like normal ships and you shouldn't hate them just because of people! (also EPIC may just be easier to get traction or talk in, I know some Odyssey enjoyers are in the tag too)
Genuine question for the Epic fandom:
Why is shipping Odysseus with a man acceptable but shipping him with a woman is cheating? Isn't it the same thing? Or is it just because it is mlm so it makes it acceptable?
And why do people get jumped for shipping Penelope with a woman? Isn't it the exact same thing? Or is it because it isn't mlm?
And why ship horrible ships like sharpwolf but hate Odysseus X Calypso? Is it because it is mlm so it is automatically acceptable?
I HATE MLM

I'll post some actual stuff tonight if I can finish work in time lmao^^
- This book is a fan-made/fanfiction sequel to my favourite movie of all time, The Thing, featuring original characters, a new setting, etc. I will try to keep it as canonical as possible as far as the world-building goes, so this will only exclude the lore of The Thing video game. The obvious reason why I’m doing this is because my fan-made sequel only applies as a continuation of the movie, and that the video game canonically takes place afterwards.
- Although this book is generally SFW and it is still in its early stages (before the horror happens), I would still recommend it to older audiences due to its violent and descriptive nature. There will be no sexually explicit material covered beyond a possible joke or two, but I will still make a list of triggers due to a plethora of other and just as serious reasons.
1 - Body horror: there will be plenty of detailed descriptions about everything gross happening.
2 - Addiction: certian characters express traits such as smoking, alcoholism and pain med abuse.
3 - Extensive injury: things such as impalement, incineration, getting stabbed and shot, etc.
4 - Death: your favourite character will probably end up brutally dying (but no guarantees).
5 - Mental illness: things such as depression, isolation and wanting/committing suicide.
- So far I only have the first chapter up and at ‘em on Quotev, which you can read by clicking here. I’m not the fastest writer in the world, but I do have a half-chapter that I can upload just in case people start invading my house to make me write more.
- I also plan to start uploading my book here on Tumblr in what I will refer to as chunks as soon as I get everything else sorted out, and eventually there will be a list of links to every chunk I post.
- And finally, I plan to post this on ao3 whenever my invite eventually comes, so look forward to seeing it on there if that is your preferred fanfiction website.
Happy reading to everyone, or if it doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, I hope you find something that is!
