I just had a thought. Little Cato considers himself irredeemable for shooting Avacato, right? He said himself that people don’t come back from something like that. Well, Avacato annihilated an entire planet; he straight up slaughtered four billion people.
So, at some point, are we gonna see Little Cato come to terms with what his father did? Is he gonna start judging his father as harshly as he judges himself? Better yet, are we gonna see Avacato–if and when we get him back–start owning up to what he did?
I’m not saying Avacato is a bad guy, but he was a terrible father. Sure, he spent three years looking for Little Cato, good on him for that. But how long did he know about the order to shoot his firstborn? I doubt it was a surprise, people would have needed time to collect their kids, seeing as how I’m pretty damn sure none of them would have come willingly. Little Cato himself had two people holding him in place.
Which means Avacato would have had time to get himself and Little Cato out if he had wanted to. They’re sneaky boys, they could have made it. But he didn’t. Instead he let Little Cato get dragged out there, made him watch a whole bunch of kids his age (considering the fact that we saw young Little Cato hanging around the base, it’s safe to say the other kids did too, which means Little Cato probably saw a few friends die that day), and then Avacato looked his son in the eyes and pointed a gun at his face.
Could you imagine what was going through Little Cato’s head? His father almost shot him. For no good reason.
I know Little Cato would defend Avacato until his last breath, but I don’t think Avacato deserves it. I think Little Cato needs to remember that what he did, he did out of absolute necessity. He didn’t have a choice, the gun was his last and only option, and he still cried “I’m sorry” afterwards.
But… did we ever see Avacato apologize for what he did to Little Cato? When he found Little Cato the first time, he said that he knows he messed up, but that’s not an apology. The only time he says the words “I’m sorry” to Little Cato is when he says that he can’t choose which of his memories comes back.
I’m not saying Avacato is irredeemable. I’m just saying that Little Cato needs to take a step back for a second, consider everything that’s happened to him over the years, and decide who the real guilty one is. Because we all know that if he thought about it–and I’m sure he just doesn’t want to think about it–he’d know that Avacato hasn’t earned the right to his forgiveness.
Why should Little Cato forgive someone who hasn’t even apologized for what they’ve done to him? How can he expect to forgive Avacato’s many mistakes when he can’t even forgive himself for the one? Father or not, what Avacato while working under the Lord Commander was beyond fucked up and, discourse be damned, he’s an awful father who has not earned his son’s forgiveness.
When Avacato apologizes it will be a step in the right direction, but for now is far from being redeemed.
I love Shrek references
Quick lore: Noor was found as a kitten in Darkwood by The Lamb, who saved him from being sacrificed in Leshy's name alongside a small doe. Lamb gave them the names of Noor and Athena and raised them as siblings, they grew up to become the lamb's most loyal disciples.

I love Egypt fun fact about me. :)
So I was rewatching “Lake Lilac summer social” because… Well, Youtube recommended it and whatever. And I noticed a couple of interactions between David and Gwen that I absolutely loved.
First of all, how concerned David is because of Gwen’s shipping lol:
Then how he knows Gwen’s matchmaking is dangerous and realizes how it’s like not to be in control of what they’re doing, the last part mostly when he realizes what it’s like to be the “level headed counselor”:
Then David just KNOWS she’s gone too far and he HAS to stop her:
At the end of the night he’s just had enough of Gwen’s nonsense. This part is my personal favorite because normally you don’t expect David to be the voice of reason instead of “Mr. Sunshine I Don’t Know What’s Going On”:
Finally, David gets his opportunity to laugh at Gwen for trying to control the lives of the campers:
Hehe…
“Oh Gwen, this is what you get for being impolite and getting involved in camper’s activities. I hope you learnt the lesson.”
I love their interactions because it’s just David and Gwen being twenty year olds in a kid’s party because there are no alternatives.
I LOVE HER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We don’t talk enough about how fanfiction writers love to give character large amounts of non-specific paperwork they hate doing
