I can’t stop thinking about the relationship between Athena and Annabeth.
The Medusa parallels are SO HEART WRENCHING, and the scene where echidna says “that’s what a good mother does; not that you would know” make me freeze, but I noticed something else that test my heart in two and I can’t get it out of my head…
So in the scene with Medusas head and the box where Grover snaps at Percy and Annabeth saying how they’re were acting was bad he says that THE HAT IS THE ONLY THING ANNABETH HAS EVER HAD TO CONNECT HER TO HER MOTHER! This may not seem like a big thing but hear me out… in HOO HER HAT STOPS WORKING
That means by the time she’s 17 she has lost all ‘connection’ with her mother through the symbolism of the hat
Athena took away her gift and her ‘love.’
I CANT GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD THAT IS SO SAD
It is so embarrassingly blasphemous that there’s characters who think Jude loved Locke
Like when Cardan’s mom said Jude loved Locke at the trial, I went feral for her cause AS IFFFFFFFFF
As a person who has pointed out all the things that were different in the books, I feel attacked. I still love the show though. I do believe change can be good. Idk if I should be triggered or not, lmao😭😭
tbh it’s not the renewing of PJOtv for season 2 that is impossible I think that people should be concerned for any season past that.
1. Tv show cancellations are frequent and getting worse post strike. Even though Percy Jackson pulled in good numbers who’s to say Disney won’t just pull the plug. Networks aren’t really allowing shows to build a base and Percy Jackson is largely relying on fan base support, which leads me to…
2. Fans are overtly critical even now, the season isn’t even over yet and we have a lot of complains.
3. It’s very clear that ever since casting was announced a lot of fans were not going to like the show. You may think I’m talking about the overt haters, I’m not. I’m talking about the ones who tune in every week yet only leave with criticisms.
4. People who like to pretend that they weren’t trashing the movies when they came out now all of a sudden are just filled with praise for the film.
I’m not saying this to be a negative Nancy or say that people don’t have valid criticisms, I’m saying this to say that I kinda think wonder if this show is going to go past a season 3.
Oh, thank goodness, I was hoping I didn't come across wrong. I was trynna have a literary debate if sorts I guess.
I'm not saying that Severus did everything out of obsession and revenge is a fact. I said that him being a dick is a fact. What I am saying about the revenge part is that one wouldn't have had to think too much to come to the conclusion that those were the reasons. And even if you did think about it a whole lot, you could still feel like that's the truth.
Also, I am saying that what he did for protecting Harry was an apologetic action towards Lily, not obsession. And I am not too sure about the obsession part because there is a very fine line between obsession and sincere love. And I totally agree about him blaming himself because if we pulled apart the sweater, the last wool string would lead to Severus.
You know, Harry never knew his father, not like many people get to. So he didn't have a single bad memory of him, and all that people talked about James was good stuff, him being dead and all, apart from Severus, but Harry had always viewed Snape from a somewhat wary/borderline hateful way, so obviously he didn't believe a word Severus said. Which lead to Harry believing that James was wonderful, which he might have. And with James being the sperm donor and all for Harry, Harry obviously felt a strong "connection" to him, therefore the naming. So, personally, what I think is him naming his son James isn't wrong at all, but neither his naming his son Severus (though I do kinda hoped that he had more kids to name Rubeus or Remus, I also I kinda wish that they wouldn't have been, like, 5th or 6th options)
I can see how it'd be kinda kinda unfair to have no one else be thankful to him, but , like, naming a child after them is no small thing. Like, it literally shapes the entire person accordingly. And, even if now Severus is dead, he will be remembered whenever anyone sees or hears tye whole name of Harry Potter, the Chosen One's second son, of Albus.
People get mad that Harry named his son after Severus. However I’m leaning more towards the fact that Snape did the most thankless job even after being mistreated all of his life by the people he was saving and working with and the only thanks he gets- the only time anyone has decided to remember a single thing he did- it’s when Harry is naming his spawn.
Severus is not even the spawn’s first name, it’s his second name. Oh yeah and he threw in some half-baked dialogue about how Severus was brave. Wow truly what a fucking treat, what an homage.
And people are complaining that he didn’t name his kid after Hargid (or Lupin I don’t think which is pretty sad and also thankless). And I agree, but instead of switching out Severus’s name, take out James’s.
He named one of his kids James Sirius Potter (which is just so cringe) and like my question is why? Sirius is perfectly understandable but why James? James has done absolutely nothing-and I mean-NOTHING for Harry apart from get compared to him and has basically acted as a sperm donor to Harry. No- not a father, because being a father actually requires raising ur kid- no James’s only merit is that he had a wizard messiah in his ballsack. Brilliant.
The reason Spy x family is famous is cuz everyone needed some silly goofy comfort. Also everyone is bisexual
Demigods who made it into their adult years is a fun concept because I'm just imagining a random son of Athena on his late thirties who's like, a Math teacher or something, watching the news about "the storm that was destroying half the country" and seeing through the mist that that's fucking Typhon and seeing his mom and the other gods fighting him and just. Wondering what the fuck did he miss lol
The pjo fandom really downplays the Annabeth's romantic gestures in the series. Yes percy held up the sky but so did she. Yes he gave up immortality for her before they even started dated but so did she. She literally took a knife for him and people only play up his reaction to it. Yes percy is the ultimate book boyfriend but Annabeth is just as good of a girlfriend and people should put more respect on her name.
And then imagine him going "Oh, wait. Jesus wasn't a God. He was the son of God. WAIT SO ILL5BE JESUS'S UNCLE???"
Waiting for a scene in pjo s5 where zeus declares that as a reward for saving olympus, percy will be rewarded with the gift of immortality, receiving the greatest gift of all-being a god, and in the heat and tension of the moment, percy with blood on his face, torn clothes, trembling, stutters “a-a god? Like jesus?”
just thinking about how percy's plans look like he's actively trying to get himself killed because he doesn't take the time to explain his plans to anyone else because they are time-sensitive. and how annabeth never needs him to explain anything because she can recognize battle strategy from a mile away. and how she knows that percy only diverges from a collective plan when he sees a flaw in it and is about to do something that'll confuse the opponent long enough for them to gain the upper hand. and how annabeth will only take over when she sees a flaw in his plan and guide them back on track. and how percy gives her the space to play on her strengths instead of fighting her over it because he trusts her judgment. and how all of this basically happens wordlessly because they understand each other.
People forget how adorable Annabeth is
