In another, better world Cassian would be reading all the romances Nesta reads and taking notes just as she does with his war texts, and he would start analyzing the way he communicates because he wants to be like one of these men in these books written by women. So, Cassian starts doing things like he’d expect one of these characters to do and suddenly… Nesta feels a little bit hot every time Cassian’s near. She gets blushy even. Flustered. something about percy winning against ares by drawing first blood, not giving a fuck that it’s the god of war he is making an enemy out of vs him being caught totally unaware by luke and luke drawing first blood because percy hesitated, because this is his friend, because making an enemy out of a god is way more preferable over making an enemy out of a friend. percy winning against insurmountable odds vs him losing because his loyalty is truly and undoubtedly fatal.

one thing abt thalia and percy's dynamic that is often overlooked is that percy was punished for the same things thalia was rewarded for. there's a prophecy abt one of the big three kids? percy is treated like a liar and thief and ppl refuse to talk to him. thalia? everyone respects her (including gods!) and assumes she'll do a great job saving the world. thalia is accepted immediately at camp and threatens the place percy spent two years proving he deserves. percy wants to go on a quest to save his friend? he's an attention seeker and glory stealer. thalia? well, she's the obvious choice. thalia comes up w a plan to win capture the flag that's basically "leave everything to me" and percy comes up with a plan that's basically "if you see a good opportunity, go for it," but percy is viewed as the control freak.

what i'm saying is percy had every reason to resent thalia and he didn't. he chose not to. and thalia had every reason to look down on percy and didn't.

even when they were fighting, i never saw it as a power struggle. they were being pit against each other, and instead of doing what everyone expected them to (kronos was fully expecting thalia to kill percy), they chose to love and respect each other. because they're not their parents. they're just two kids who started cracking under the pressure but refused to break.

actually I do mourn what hoo did to Percy and Nico's relationship because in pjo it was such a hilarious love-hate thing. Like Percy's this long-suffering and exasperated but protective older cousin figure while Nico is Nico and is feral and dramatic and craves Percy's approval while also loathing him at the same time. Like. Amazing stuff at play there.

Then in hoo Percy's like Nico? yeah he can die I guess and listen listen I'm not saying its out of character for Percy to be vengeful or for him to be annoyed by Nico. Like I think its very on point (see him strangling Nico for betraying him in tlo). However, I think the way it should have played out is Percy being fuming at Nico in his head but the moment Jason and Leo are like "Nico's shady so maybe we shouldn't rescue him?" an instant switch flips off and Percy's like "Um only I can talk shit about Nico and we're going to save him because if he's going to die its going to be by my hand"

holds your face very gently. listen. listen to me: Grover and Percy are soulmates. Their lives are very literally tied together and they cannot exist without the other. Canonically, if one of them dies, they both die. They literally share a telepathic link that they can use to communicate from literally anywhere and they can feel each other's feelings. They are best friends and their lives are physically bound to one another. This is so important to me.

Percy Jackson is against bullying.

He is however very sad that neither Annabeth, Clarrise or Drew had met Octavian in camp Jupiter, because as much as he frowns on it he would pay any kind of money to see those three tear him a new one for acting like a little bitch he is.
