This isn't a Sonic blog, I know, I know, but I sketched these a bit ago for a Discord server I'm no longer in, so I figured I might as well post them for the world to see. While I'm at it, I'll plug my Sonic fic. Now am I saying this is what the characters look like in the story? Not sure since I describe them as their usual canon selves in terms of appearance, so actually probably not. But for now, this is just one of many of my interpretations. :)

Post #12 - A Simple Silhouette Exercise

I want to start by saying that this exercise (found here) was easy enough to complete during the few down hours I had today, so it makes for a decent warm-up. We were to sketch out a few cityscape silhouettes using basic shapes and then detail the best one. I made only three sketches and picked the silhouette that I found fit the Underground aesthetic the most.

This exercise was fun!

It definitely helped to better shape the skeleton of a city in a quick, yet appealing, manner. Despite that, I feel like I could've done more today, but I'm at least patting myself on the back for getting a blog post out there (the bare minimum, I know). I had such little time to do much today. I hadn't yet researched the map of the Underground or really taken a moment to find noteworthy references. Hopefully, with a bit more time on my hands, we can start strong tomorrow by finishing the Clipstudio tutorial.

Will Chara play a more crucial role in Frisk's survival than just the seemingly split personality that took charge when Frisk felt overwhelmed by the assaults she was receiving?

You know, I’m not sure what to do with Chara. On one hand, I found the split personality had contributed to a lot of major plot points, mainly related to Toriel, but I also feel like Chara could do more. I have been debating on whether or not to change her backstory (again, I guess that would rely on the AU). Should she be removed altogether?

Maybe Chara was a victim of CSA and it contributed to her death, so as a result she returned as a spirit guide for Frisk? Maybe she isn’t dead at all, (nor is Asriel) and instead she’s a princess locked away in a tower because Asgore doesn’t want to kill her for her soul and he doesn’t want the rest of monsterkind to attempt it? But then we must ask the question of how the monsters were trapped in the first place, and why Toriel ran away (though, she was being abused by Asgore in Lugubriousity, but I doubt she is the type of mother who would leave that situation if she was unable to take her children with her)? Perhaps Chara (and Asriel) do live with Toriel and Asgore simply believes his family is dead?

I definitely want to do more with Chara, I simply need to figure out how to iron out the details. I’d love some suggestions if you have any. They honestly help tremendously.

♫ - What I’m currently listening to.

So here is where I will stop the first chapter because...*drum roll*...Fawn is going to remain a comic! The past week and half of uploads have shown me that it is possible to get a good 20+ pages done, and not feel overwhelmed, so I'm in it for the long haul!

Of course, this doesn't guarantee frequent uploads, but it does mean that I'm moving the goalpost for myself with the hope of finishing chapter 3 by the end of the year. It also means we'll get to visually see all characters introduced in Lugubriosity, which will be a ton of fun for me to reimagine.

So! The next step is getting that scrolling page done and making a post linking to it. Once that's completed, I'll continue to post lumps of finished pages of future chapters, as I've been doing with chapter 1, to allow you guys to give feedback before everything is transferred to the page scrolls. Sounds pretty nice, huh?

Also, what do you guys think of Starlah? Does she play a big role in future events? Maybe, maybe not, but gosh if she isn't a fun way to envision the birth of a gas giant.

woah, i just had to say, i was reading "immature intrest" on a03, and you genuinely might be one of the best writers i have ever come across on that site. originally, when i saw the tags, i was scared it was going to be another weird insane fetish fic that i was going to traumatize myself with 😭 but holy shi u blew me away dude. its so well written, and ur ability to write such complex subjects is astonishing. its the first time im very avidly following a fic! im js hoping for a happy ending 😭

Aww! Thank you so much for this very kind comment. I will admit that Immature Interests was just one factor that inspired me to try my hand at an original novel. I’m letting my creativity run wild while still sticking closely to a plot. It’s a hard story to write, but one one that I enjoy.
