“I hope that real love and truth are stronger in the end than any evil or misfortune in the world.” ~ Charles Dickens
i think it’d be easier to understand double bookkeeping if people more often talked about the difference between knowing something and believing it.
- you can know your friends love you, but not believe it.
- you can know nobody is spying on you, but not believe it.
- you can know you don’t have to be perfect, but not believe it.
- you can know your thoughts won’t affect reality, but not believe it.
knowing that your belief is false doesn’t always mean you stop believing it.
i actually don’t give a fuck that transvestigation laws “will end up impacting cis women too” it should be enough that they impact trans women. you should care about that on its own actually.
