the kids in my class who use gen ai for half their assignments are not gonna appreciate me when i show up to our Dorian Gray discussion, going on a tangent about how art is more than just the end product and consuming it. Itβs about the artist molding it with their hands. Itβs the artist putting in so much of their blood sweat and tears that they leave their soul bare to the world. That they fear their art will drag forth a confession from them that they never meant to share. That their art will mirror and incriminate them for the sins committed by their heart.
