Hello, fellow akusai shippers! That time of the year is fast approaching yet again. The time our hearts shall bleed the most akusai – Akusai Month!

This year, we only have one set of prompts. Choose between the two choices on either side of the slash (/) for each day. As always, you may use any medium–be it fanfic, fanart, playlist, video, etc. Make sure to always use materials made by you yourself! No stealing of other people’s work, please.

Akusaimonth: Berserk Mode Day 11: Textures

Ah, what a mean topic for someone who's working in traditional media. I tried to figure something out for this one for days and what I came up with was actually very obvious: A collage with different textured paper.

This was a very interesting experience as well, never before had I realized how much emotions and memories I connected to different sorts of paper. So, there was a logical reason why I'd use which paper (for example a silky one for Saix' hair and a rough for Axel's) as well as an emotional (the band that connects them for example is made out of an really old paper that's terrible to draw on and even worse to cut, but for me it stands for some of my happiest childhood memories and a deep and genuine friendship, so it sort of fits.)

This pictue is an ACEO card. I don't know if you know about them, they are very popular in the german language area, but I've never heard of them from anywhere else. ö_ö ACEO cards (or KaKAO cards, as they are called in german) are cards in the size of 6,4 x 8,9 cm, which are made to trade or sell them. This one here is actually two cards, but I couldn't get myself to cut them apart so it will stay one Maxi KaKAO. xD

And well, I would like to give it away. After all that's the meaning of such a card anyway and I find the thought to send it to some AkuSai Fan anywhere in the world actually very exciting. So, if anyone would like to have it please tell me in an ask! :)

Welcome to AkuSaiMonth! A month of celebrating AkuSai & LeaIsa! It's been a hard two years, but at least ASM is back, this time with a new host (and with permission of the original creator)!

AkuSaiMonth 2022 Bingo

Similar to 2015, we will be playing bingo again, but this time with a twist: The bingo cards are randomized! Every participant will have their prompts in 1 of 30 different arrangements!

Where can I get the Bingo Card?

To claim your personal AkuSaiMonth 2022 Bingo card, click >> HERE! << Using the link on the same device and browser should (in theory) always lead to the same card. However, I would strongly recommend also saving the card by either using the print button on top or by making a screenshot.

Screenreader friendly bingo cards are available here: LINK. These are not randomized unfortunately, but you can still pick one (of three) at random! Please let me know if you run into any problems!

How does it work?

The goal is to get one "Bingo!" during the month (Jul 7 – Aug 8) by filling 5 prompts in a row, column or diagonal. 

This could mean one post every week, for example:

Post 1: Friday, July 8 (IsaLea Day)

Post 2: Saturday, July 16

Post 3: Saturday, July 23

Post 4: Sunday, July 31

Post 5: Sunday, August 7 (AkuSai Day) -> Bingo! <3

You are of course allowed to do less than five prompts (one is perfectly fine! <3) or even fill out the entire bingo card (I wish I had your time management skills)!

AKUSAIMONTH: BERSERK Day 8: SET C - “Ultimate Demise”

“So pathetic. Weren’t you trying to protect your friend? Now look what you have done.” “What ... what did you do to Lea?!” “No, the real question is: what did you do?” “What are you talking about! I didn’t do anything.” “Precisely. You just watched as he sacrificed himself. Even now, you do nothing. Aaah ... now, do you really think looking at me with such hateful eyes will bring your precious friend back?” “You killed him.” “Killed him? Dear boy, do you really think, this is what death looks like? No, he’s not dead.” “Then what?!” “Hmhm... Do you wish to see him again? Do you wish to save him? I can bring you to him.”

No new Akusaimonth fill, no. Instead something else that kept bothering me for days. Philipp Brammer, the german voice actor of Axel has died a few days ago. And you know, I didn’t know him, I didn’t know anything about him except for his voice, but still it makes me sad every time I think about it. It’s probably weird, but I can’t change it. I don’t even like the german dubbed versions of Kingdom Hearts (I was actually preparing a few posts about it before hearing that news), but Axel’s voice was among those few that I liked. Very much so as well. I mean I kept quoting „Kannst du dir das merken?“ at every fitting and unfitting occasion for years. Sometimes I do still do that today. And to know that this voice is just gone … really makes me sad. Thank you, Philipp, you did a great job. I know that I’ve got it memorized.

AKUSAIMONTH: DAYTIME MOON Day 3: Let me clean your wounds.

Everything was spinning, at least that's what it felt like when he woke up. Lea just lay there, waiting for his world to calm down again. He made it, didn't he? He had seen Isa's heart … Isa.

Ignoring his dizziness, he opened his eyes and looked up. Isa lay barely an arm's length away from him. Still … … unconscious. At least, that's what he hoped it was.

In a sudden panic, he got to his knees and grabbed his shoulders. "Isa!", he called out his name, shaking him at the same time.

It felt like an eternity before Isa opened his eyes. There was no trace of yellow left in them. Only the greenish blue he remembered from so long ago. Lea felt himself breaking into a smile. All the tension and anxiousness that had kept him on edge this whole time simply fell away from him. He really made it.

His relief didn't last long once Isa reached out to him and … shoved him away. His voice sounded hoarse and weak and he didn't look him in the eye. "Don't touch me," he said. Lea felt his heart clench.

"Come on, Isa," he tried again, reaching for him one more time, only to get hold up by an arm, that certainly shouldn't be doing that. Everything went numb for him.

He had imagined this moment a hundred times. Heck, a thousand times. He didn't really expect Isa to fall around his neck or something, but this … this was nothing like what he thought. He saved Isa, didn't he? Why was he still acting like this? … Like … Saïx.

He just looked at him for a moment, trying to regain his composure. There were traces of the fight they had before all over him. It hadn't exactly been easy to enter Isa's heart.

Isa hadn't even gotten up. Apparently he was even worse off than Lea himself. "You're hurt," Lea stated in a firm voice, "Let me help you." He took hold of Isa's arm that was still trying to keep him away from him and pushed it down with mild power.

Isa still refused to look at him.  "No. Just … leave me be." But this time Lea heard his voice crack. He sounded … sad.

For some reason, it irritated him.

"Leave you be to do what? Die?" He grasped both his shoulders. Isa tensed up and tried to push him away again, but Lea didn't let him. "Do you really think I went through all that trouble, learning how to use a keyblade, waltzing right into a war, fighting you, just to let you die now?? No, Isa, I will bring you home and if I have to drag you all the way there."

Just then Isa suddenly stopped struggling and looked up to him. For a moment his face was full of disbelief, then he made a sound that was a mixture between an exhale and a laugh, and even though it sounded so sad, Lea felt happy about it. Because it was a reaction to him. And because there was the hint of a smile on Isa's face. It had been too long since he had a chance to see that.

"You're still … as stubborn as ever." His voice was quiet, but it wasn't cold. Not anymore. For the second time within a few minutes Lea felt relief wash over him. This wasn't lost, not yet. They could still go back to the way there were, it just'd take a bit longer than he thought.

"See, that's more like what I wanted to hear," he chirped extra cheerfully. He smiled at Isa, then he tightened his grip on his shoulders. "It's good to have you back. Isa."
