Monarch: Legacy of Monsters - 1x04
Tim posted screenshots from METROPOLIS back in Nov 22, 2019. As of Feb 10, 2023 it's still up there.
If the rumours are true and Apple has Sam Esmail helming a tv series with Timothee Chalamet in it then the world as we know it will change forever that wd be okay i guess đ .
- Sam is a razor sharp writer (MR ROBOT) and intrepid filmmaker (COMET).
- And Apple's FOUNDATION shows they can do sci fi fantasy & adapt stories by updating them with just the right amount of respect.
- And given that Freder has that saviour thing going on as well, I cant wait to see how Tim makes him different from Paul Atreides.
I wonder if they might gender flip the story so that the rich kid rebel (Freder) is a woman and the working class saint (Maria) is a guy. Not for any reason other than those few minutes that the saint is shown as a seductress. And i think showing people getting whipped into a sexual frenzy over a woman is so eyerollingly cliche. Throw Timmy into that role and ... well... if ever there was a man who could seduce men and women into comitting sins... (Btw this film came out in 1927, nearly a century ago!!!!đ˛)
Revenge makes the nights longer, but knives make them shorter.

okay but you guys realise our shared obsession with hit mafia drama Goncharov (1973) by Martin Scorsese is just all of us taking a film studies course after we finished our literature seminar on Bram Stoker's Dracula, here at Tumblr University

To me the way Keeleyâs bisexuality has been written so far has been so realistic. Sheâs making all of these blatantly queer comments about women, yet theyâre treated as jokes by everyone around her, and most of the audience. Which is justâŚyeah, thatâs exactly how it is. People do assume youâre joking if you say stuff like that.
Itâs so wild that bi women can essentially be out of the closet, making comments about wanting to have sex with women, yet nobody takes it seriously. They donât believe youâre bi unless you explicitly say so. Iâve been there, thinking Iâm out of the closet making comments about women I find attractive, just to find out years later that those people thought I was straight because I didnât tell them how I label myself.
Maybe this isnât on purpose or maybe it is, but either way Iâm interested to see what Jack brings to the table. To me itâs blatantly obvious that Keeley has a little crush on her and now Iâm wondering if theyâre going to go anywhere with that. It would be interesting if Keeley has a little fling with her, especially to see how people react to her bisexuality being âconfirmedâ â when really itâs been there the whole time but people just like to ignore it.
been rotating this quote from Diaspora by Greg Egan around in my mind
"Conquering the galaxy is what bacteria with spaceships would do â knowing no better, having no choice."
It so neatly encapsulates my disgust with the idea of space colonization. Why do you presume that unchecked exponential growth is the only fate we can choose?

Bite and rip and tear, stain my lips and hands and hair, burst and bleed inside my bite, rubies torn from fleshy white. The energy a heartbeat in my hands, a feat of violence on an effigy to hold my hate and envy as I Rage, Rage, Rage. A heart--at least, a substitute-- pulses weak as I consume. Plucked, like I have claws, or a swathe gone to my jaws: the seeds sting my tongue. I have no mercy. I'm not done, I Rage, Rage, Rage, Until my hands drip with the slaughter, and my chin is crimson-covered, my counter strewn with carnage: Until I sate the rage.
