                    beverly may not have lived under her father’s thumb for quite some time, but the process of learning about herself && getting comfortable with that was ongoing. formal dresses, galas, they weren’t quite her thing yet. bev’s smile in reply was INSTANT. “eh, i feel —” the words pretty silly quickly dropped off at the SINCERITY of his expression. “— thanks.” cheeks rosy as sapphire gaze then took him in fully. “is that a clip-on??” beverly teased before tugging playfully at his tie. real.  “well, now i can officially say the same to you.” she reached to straighten his tie && pocket square despite how perfectly placed they already were. “you trying to impress somebody ??”

               Ben  shouldn’t  feel  awkward  around  Bev,  especially  not  after  everything  they’d  been  through  together,  but  her  not  remembering  their  relationship  made  him  feel  like  that  twelve  year  old  boy  that  was  head  over  heels  in  love  with  her  back  in  Derry.  Still,  there  was  no  one  else  that  he  would  have  rather  spent  this  event  with,  so  he  made  his  way  over  to  her.  “  Hey,  Beverly.  ”  He  smiled,  taking  a  moment  to  look  down  at  her  outfit  and  hoping  that  the  look  on  his  face  wasn’t  too  obvious.  “  You,  uh…  You  look  really  nice.  ”

ben: i've gotta find somewhere to hang it up, i'm sure my clients will love that during video calls

ben: i promise, i'll act as surprised as i can

beverly: oh for sure. it'd scream professionalism.

beverly: but i understand if you still wanna hang it behind your door🤣

beverly: you also have to promise you'll listen to them with me.

                    events that broke up the norm of daily life were always luna approved. she felt  l i g h t e r  already, a quick twirl on the back her heel as a chuckle passed her lips. “this place is so FANCY, ginny.” she chimed, blue eyes turning to her friend ( such an uncommon word for luna to say, to even think of having, but in ginny it rung true ). “before i forget, i made you something. as your friend && honorary date i simply had to.” && with that luna pulled out a piece of paper from her purse, a drawing she made of the other. “i can hold onto if for you till the end if you want. but it’s my thanks. you know, for coming with me && everything.” @spcllbovnd​  /  ginny weasley.

                    despite the unfamiliarity with the music, beverly had never been one to shy away from dancing. whether it be for a middle school talent show or even an event such as this it always served as a proper DISTRACTION. it’s difficult to overthink when the beat of the music is pounding against ears, one’s heart. beverly stopped however when she spotted bill. her usual smirk warming her features as she shuffled over. “i must say, you’ve all come a long way from the whitey tighties,” bev jested, nudging his shoulder lightly with her own. “you enjoying the party so far ?? well i guess i should say, ball. it is rather fancy. who’d of thought us LOSERS would ever be invited to one, huh ??” @wxlksxflxfx​​  /  bill denbrough.

                    “— you ... you remember me ??” he may not have been the lando finn had known, but there was no question it was him. thank force. for one of the first times that evening finn felt a bit more RELAXED. “there is, but don’t worry ; they have nothing on your style or capes.” finn mused, a short laugh breaking from him. having someone to talk to, a friend, finn felt like maybe there was hope in figuring this all out. “perhaps a bit ago i would’ve agreed. but i’m not sure we know what we’re up against yet. have you heard about the border ?? apparently there’s no way in or out. but there’s gotta be a flaw.” there always was.

“ seems the gang’s getting back together. ”  lando’s smile was warm, genuine as he laid eyes on the younger man. he couldn’t explain how they were all ending up here, but he would never complain about seeing yet another old friend.  “ it’s good to see you again, finn. and thankfully under much calmer circumstances this time. ”  taking a sip of his drink, he glanced around the ballroom before returning his attention to finn.  “ certainly is a pageantry on display tonight, isn’t it? ”

Amelia laughed lightly and nodded her head. “While I can see your logic, I don’t know if I could completely agree with it. Just because you can’t see them, doesn’t mean they aren’t hiding around here somewhere. However, I am glad to hear that you are enjoying the event. We do all this work so people will hopefully enjoy it.” She replied. With his words, her head tilted a bit like she was thinking over his offer. “Hmm, can it be a total of an hour? Like maybe not all at one time, but more of a cumulative hour throughout the whole night. That I think I can accomplish.” She figured some times with her friends and Wes, she could make up an hour.

                    "well someone’s gotta bear the brunt of the work && i’m glad it’s not me,” he quipped, though quickly added — “ && that it’s done by people who are actually good at it.” mike always followed through on his word, on anything he set his mind too, but that wasn’t always necessarily a good thing. trouble tended to follow, more so than he even knew. when it came to school he was organized, a future lawyer had to be. but in daily life ?? mike had to relax a bit to survive. “usually i’d say no, but i’ll compromise. just try to at least chill more than five minutes at a time. there’s always some drama at these kinda things, but doesn’t make it any less of a party.”

Listening to him list off the things that were great about event made the same smile on her lips grow as she nodded her head. It was his next sentence that made her chuckle before she shook her head. “Not on my own no, but I did have a hand in the planning team. And have been working at it for the last few weeks, and that’s just working on decorations and such.” She explained, shrugging her shoulders a little. “Honestly, celebrating is something I’ll probably do after the event with probably a giant ice cream and sleeping until I can’t anymore.” Amelia joked with a laugh.

                    dark gaze playfully searched around the venue — “well i don’t see anyone else close who seems to be on the team. so, you can just take the credit for now. as well as my thanks. anyone who helps bring some ENTERTAINMENT ‘round here gets my humble gratitude.” while a lover of parties, he wasn’t exactly a planner. mike liked to lived life on a whim, see where each day took him && deal with the repercussions of anything later or not at all if he could help it. he laughed along with her, shaking his head. “that you do. but you also gotta have at least a little bit of fun tonight. for my sake. knowing someone’s at a party && having a stressful time ?? talk about a downer. a minimum of one hour of fun, y’gotta promise.”
