Wrecker: We should send Echo. Everyone likes Echo.
Hunter: Not everyone.
Crosshair, loading his rifle: Who doesn’t like Echo? I want names and locations.
No but like actually, the thought of rewatching particular episodes makes it hard for me to breathe
So when I say “rewatch The Bad Batch” what I actually mean is “rewatch The Bad Batch up until I get to The Outpost and then stop because I don’t want to feel those feelings but then enough time passes and I’m like yeah ok I can just restart it at Aftermath and I’ll keep going but I never do so the vicious cycle just continues for ever and ever amen”
“this armor is the best” “no this armor” i think we all know the correct answer here ✋🏻
“And in the night
You hear me calling
You hear me calling
And in your dreams
You see me falling, falling…”
“Oblivion” by M83 making me think of Tech in all the saddest ways
I am DYING to know how Commander “I run 1/6 of the GAR on caffeine and respect” Cody became homies with Clone Force 99, whose entire philosophy is “ehh mission orders?? More like mission suggestions” except they’ve thrown every single suggestion they’ve ever gotten into the garbage and set it on fire
I feel so bad for the guy that had to be Tech’s flight instructor on Kamino. Just like imagine feeling happy and secure in your job as a clone cadet flight instructor, and then this scrawny little clone who’s about five years younger than the others in your class with giant round goggles and his hair standing on end from shorting out Kamino’s entire electrical system on a dare marches up to the flight simulator, looks at you, and says, “Look, sir, let’s not kid ourselves here. There’s nothing about flying you can teach me that I don’t already know. I’ve read every flight manual ever written and can recite the specs of any standard ship in the galaxy. My enhanced mental abilities allow me to process information from multiple sources faster than you can even remember what you ate for breakfast. I’m already a better pilot than you will ever be, so just give me the score that we both need to be done with each other and let’s move on with our lives” and then slams on the gas
So like yes, I know that Wrecker and Hunter probably would have teased Tech about Phee, but like. You know that those boys were thrilled. Hunter and Wrecker are just watching Tech and Phee get closer and closer and Hunter feels so soft and happy inside because maybe they really do have a shot at this normal life thing, and Wrecker feels so much pride in his brother for taking the first steps really truly outside of their lives as soldiers and runaways. And I just. AH
No literally that conversation would have been pure gold. Wrecker is completely exaggerating the romance, Omega is all giggly, Hunter is trying to be mature and keep things under control, and Crosshair is just floored
we were absolutely robbed of this followup moment:
Phee: Any friend of Brown Eyes [Tech] is a friend of mine.
Phee: [turns around and starts heading for her ship]
Crosshair: [turns his head to Hunter with the most confused look ever on his face]
Crosshair: [mouthing silently to Hunter] "Brown Eyes" ???
😭😭 too soon, OP, too soon. But so truuuuuee
Tech knew Crosshair had changed.
He knew the moment he found "CT-9904" included on the list of clone prisoners.
He already knew, but his theory was confirmed when he discovered that Crosshair had sent the squad a warning message.
Tech might not have known the details, but he knew that Crosshair had changed not only enough to draw the wrath of the Empire down on him, but enough to actually reach out to his family - the family he had walked away from - in an effort to warn them.
Crosshair's nature may still be "severe and unyielding," but his priorities had changed and he now was bending those traits toward different goals (like protecting his family at all costs and not yielding to torture).
Tech may not have seen firsthand how much Crosshair had changed, but he knew that he had.
And since his brother had changed enough to somehow defy the Empire and then reach out to the family, maybe his brother would come home.
Omega: being a sniper must be so nice. Just sitting up high and keeping an eye on things through your scope? You have the chillest job on the battlefield.
Crosshair: *has flashbacks to this one battle where he watches through his scope as Hunter runs head-on into a firing squad of 200 droids with nothing but a knife, while Wrecker is purposely trying to set off every bomb he finds, while Tech takes off not only his leg armor but the rest of his armor too because it’s “getting in the way,” and he can’t even see Echo anymore but alarms just started going off in the Separatist base behind them*
Crosshair: …yep.
DYING pleeeeease 😂😂
How Phee (should have) seduced Tech:
As the sun sets on the Pabu sea, the lights of the village come on from the shore up the hill.
Phee: Pretty spectacular, right?
Tech: I suppose...that is one way to quantify it.
Phee (leans in, softly): Technically, that was a qualification.😏
Tech: (the goggle fidgeting intensifies)😳
