Thor: (sipping smoothie) WHAT KIND OF DRINK IS THIS
Steve: I'm not sure.. Taste like strawberry
Thor: (uses smart phone) WHAT KIND OF ENCHANTMENT IS THIS. IT GLOWS BY MY TOUCH
Steve: Someone told me it's the new phone or something.. But I don't know how it works
Thor: You do not know a lot of things where you inhabit, do you not?
Steve: Well.. I was stuck in the ice for 70 years
Thor: ..Are any of your ancestors share the blood of Frost Giants?
Steve: A what?
I would love to see Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch being in a same marvel movie together It's like two hollywood couples in the movie Or two magicians in the movie Or two wizards maybe?
Lol he looked so tired and not impressed in that scene
I feel like I saw more chemistry between BuckyAyo than BuckySarah
Not hating on Sarah Wilson or anything and I KNOW AYO HAS A GIRLFRIEND in the comics. But purely character & chemistry wise, Ayo and Bucky have deeper history with each other and have more (positive) tension between them... I just feel like BuckySarah seemed a little too rushed. Even if BuckyAyo doesn't share romantic relationship (which I don't expect), I wish Marvel will explore their friendship a bit more in the future
A subjective review with personal opinions, minor minor spoilers - AMAZING MUSIC - Damn Chris Pratt was fabulous at every scene. The story really focused on his character’s back story and I was quite fine with that as that was expected from the last movie - Zoe Saldana was also flawless and I loved how Gamora had deeper story line with her sister, Nebula. It was interesting to hear their backstory little more and with Thanos mainly associated with it. Also I like her character more than I did in the last movie. The Starlord/Gamora dinamic was also nice too watch - As always, Drax was more of a comic relief and I hoped they make him stronger in the movie like in the comics to beat Thanos. He had great chemistry with Mantis too - I feel like Rocket had quite a lot of screen time and I really loved his action scenes and his gadgets. Really pointed out his character - Groot actually didn’t do much but WHO GIVES A FUCK HE’S FUCKING ADORABLE. Everytime he was on screen I couldn’t stop smiling. I also loved ho the other members parented him and took care of him with love - Mantis was so adorable and innocent baby with low self esteem and I’m looking forward to see her more in the next movie - I love Yondu SOOOOO much like, PETER BE GOOD WITH YOUR UNCLE/DADDY/CAPTAIN WHATEVER god he was fucking amazing in this movie - Kurt Russel was great as Ego, and I liked how they CGIed the Ego planet - There was a bit of a slow pacing scene in the middle - Also few jokes that you’d only get if you are familiar with 1980’s American culture like in the last movie, but it was bearable - I liked the overall story line - If you’re a comic book reader there were scenes that make you go HUH????? WHAT???? Also Easter eggs during and after the movie It was a 8/10 movie for me. Gags, angst, comedy, drama, romance, and fantasy were all in there and I’ll be looking forward for the next one!
MAKE. THIS. DUO. HAPPEN
I am actually very confused with this team members
In team ironman I don’t get why black widow is on the side of the government because I thought she didn’t like to reveal her dark pasts and her personal informatio whereas she is the side of giving up the hero’s secret identity
Also vision. Although Vision is technically jarvis, which is the creation of Ironman, for some reason I think Vision believes in freedom of humanity, which is the one of the quality that makes him worthy. Also, I think there is a possibility of Vision teaming up with Captain for Scarlet Witch, since they are lovers in the comics (and I think they are going to be lovers in the movies) and I don’t think Wanda is going to change her side to Ironman since directly or indirectly, he killed her family including Quicksilver who is killed by Ultron, which is also a creation of Tony Stark
As we all know, Spiderman was at first in Ironman’s side then he changes his side to Captain’s, which suggests unfortunately for Tony, the only team member remaining would be his friend War Machine
Although Ironman won the civil war in the comics, my presumption is that MCU will make Captain America to win, since it is also a 3rd “Captain America” movie
Ok this is a NO SPOILER review with my own opinions
+ Just because I love the character doesn't mean that I'm defending the actors with certain controversies. Actor=/=Character
Things I liked about the movie
- Newt and Leta's back to school storyline. I LOVED IT. The young actors who portrayed those characters were incredibly symmetrical to original actors and how a boy from Hufflepuff and girl from Slytherin hang out melted my heart
- Everyone's sense of fashion
- JONNY DEPP'S GRINDELWALD Oh my god guys. Whether you like him or not, it's just... he just nailed the entire performance. Honestly, I didn't like how they styled his hair and looks, but once you watch the movie, they don't matter anymore. It's just the dark wizard himself inspiring and grasping everyone's attention. Once you step out from the cinema, the only character I thought about was him.
- Grindelwald actually proposes a very reasonable and convincing agenda which scared me. He reminded me of Michael Fassbender's Magneto in X Men. Compared to Voldemort, who proposes an extreme dictatorship, G sounded like he was actually fighting for the rights for the wizards.
- MY BABY NIFFLER
- Lkie the first one, it was nice to see the adult's wizarding world where they are not students, but and actual member of the wizarding society with strong and built up abilities
Thing I didn't like
- The storyline was extremely weak tbh. The first act with Newt and his animals was interesting & exciting, but the second act was dragging the storyline. The story only built up with conflict and more conflict without a proper climax in the movie
- Leta's storyline was full of plot holes and mostly dragging the movie. There is a scene which includes her talking for the entire scene which I felt it was kind of unnecessary and makes you roll your eyes and go 'uhh, can we move on to next part now??' I liked Zoe's acting, but it's just David Yate's poor storytelling skills
- There were a lot of UNNECESSARY SUPPORTING CHARACTERS. Like seriously, the movie could have been 100% fine without them
- The title 'Fantastic beasts' sounds like an mere excuse to explain Dumbledore and Grindelwald's storyline. Both of it could have been a separate movie, where there is a spin off about Newt acting like a Pokemon trainer, searching and analysing magical creatures, but the main movie is about the actual Dumbledore vs Grindelwald storyline. Why combine those two??
It wasn't a movie you'd enjoy 100% in the cinema because it didn't really solve or developed a storyline, but it makes you wonder and get excited for the sequel. 6.7/10 for me
