Humans Are Weird

So there has been a bit of “what if humans were the weird ones?” going around tumblr at the moment and Earth Day got me thinking. Earth is a wonky place, the axis tilts, the orbit wobbles, and the ground spews molten rock for goodness sakes. What if what makes humans weird is just our capacity to survive? What if all the other life bearing planets are these mild, Mediterranean climates with no seasons, no tectonic plates, and no intense weather? 

What if several species (including humans) land on a world and the humans are all “SCORE! Earth like world! Let’s get exploring before we get out competed!” And the planet starts offing the other aliens right and left, electric storms, hypothermia, tornadoes and the humans are just … there… counting seconds between flashes, having snowball fights, and just surviving. 

100 Reasons NOT To Kill Yourself

1. We would miss you. 2. It’s not worth the regret. Either by yourself if you failed or just simply left scars, or the regret everyone else feels by not doing enough to help you. 3. It does get better. Believe it or not it will eventually get better. Sometimes you have to go through the storm to get to the rainbow. 4. There’s so much you would miss out on doing. 5. I love that whenever Toph is somewhere where she can’t bend one of the gaang will offer her their arm so she can be safe. Sometimes it’s more obvious like Sokka taking her arm and leading her to safety during The Desert when Aang goes into the avatar state. But sometimes it’s a lot more subtle, like in the background in a bunch of shots of The Painted Lady, when she’s standing on wood over water, she’s holding onto Aang and he makes sure she doesn’t bump into anything.

Avatar gets a lot of credit for showing disabled people who are capable of being independent and doing things themselves but I think people tend to overlook that it also shows sometimes disabled people can’t do things, and that is valid and ok. and through that it also shows the responsibility allies should take in providing assistance to disabled people when its needed

Gather round children, whilst I tell you a little story.

So I was watching Fullmetal Alchemist with my roommate, when I got thirsty and decided what the hell, Ima get myself a Coke. So I went down to the vending machine on our floor and swiped my card and pressed the button to vend the Coke. Well, TWO cokes popped out.

Weird right?

I looked around, wondering if I was on one of those punk’d shows, and grabbed both bottles. Suddenly, a loud thrumming came from the machine, and lo and behold, 6 MORE COKES CAME OUT.

After checking my debit card statement, I found that I was only charged for ONE coke. Feeling giddy but slightly guilty, I nabbed all 8 bottles of coke and went back to my room. After telling my roommate what happened, she decided to go back to the coke machine with me and see if only the Cokes are affected.

She bought two Sprites, and what the fuck do ya know, she got those damn Sprites, AS WELL AS 11 FREE COKES. 

This of course jammed the machine, and before I knew it, I was on my knees with my arm up the Coke machine, practically birthing these little fuckers. I even read off their names on their bottles as I handed them to my roommate. We also found a random Cherry Coke had popped out as well.

Behold our finished family. 19 cokes, 2 Sprites, and a Cherry Coke, all the result of a very overworked and confused Coke machine.

This is potentially life saving information everyone should know.

I feel lance on a spiritual level for the noise when its quiet 

Pidge:Why do you sleep with my headphones on? The rooms are soundproof.

Lance:Oh their because i cant stand that loud ringing noise when your in a silent room

Pidge:What ringing noise?

Lance: hardy haw haw, you know what once i mean. The loud one thats always there when its too quiet.

Pidge: Lance… are you ADHD by any chance?

Lance: yeah why?

Pidge: because not everyone hears that ringing, its sensory issue and we dont hear it.

Keith: i do… wait its not normal?

Lance: Apparently not! i need to rethink my whole world view now thanks Pidge!
