It’s johnnys birthday!!

1956 - John turns 16 and uses his birthday money to buy two singles— Hound Dog by Elvis Presley and The Ying Tong Song by The Goons (note; John wouldn’t own a guitar until later that year)

1961 - John receives a hefty amount of money from a relative for his 21st birthday and decides to go to Spain with Paul McCartney. After arriving at Paris, they agree to stay there instead.

1980 - John’s final birthday, he turns 40 and his son Sean turns 5. Yoko hires an aircraft pilot to skywrite “Happy Birthday John + Sean - Love Yoko”. John is also gifted a knitted tie and a Patek Philippe watch from Yoko.

paul: okay, we have to come up with some ideas for the next album. so i was thinking—

john: i have an idea for a song about how im a piece of shit fat ugly bitch with no friends and is hated by everyone and should die. i’m going to call it Dumbfuck Asshole About To Kill Himself.

paul: ……right! cool! i was thinking more along the lines of “i love you girl and want to dance with you” but that’s really good too!
