do you ever think about your mutuals' ocs and go
I know there are people who avoid OOC interaction entirely to avoid meta knowledge tainting their portrayals and I definitely can't live like that but I've always had memory issues and there is so much different stuff bouncing around in my head anymore that I don't know how to keep straight what has been revealed ic and what hasn't anymore :') constantly paranoid I'm going to unintentionally metagame because I can't remember anything ever

i loooooove giving my ocs perpetrator trauma. you hurt people, used and abused and destroyed them, and you will never wash out that stain. you will grow resentful of forgiveness because you refuse to forgive yourself. they don't know what you did like you do. you wear that knowledge like armor, like a sick badge of shameful pride. you can't cut off the hand that struck out and throw it away. you can't pull out your teeth and become something kinder, something more vulnerable.
R, C, M
Decided to make things fun and roll a die for each of these and pick one of my other main muses that I haven't written on tumblr to answer for as well!
R - Rebel - Do they follow rules, bend or break them? Do they find rebelliousness in others attractive?
Ava - I think this one is fairly obvious lmao. Ava doesn't give a shit about rules until the consequences are so dire that they literally can't ignore them. Rules that are enforced by Creeper or Reboot are the only rules that they care to observe. Otherwise they are pretty happy to do whatever they want forever. Unsurprisingly, this is also a trait they find attractive in other people.
Dot - It's a bit complicated. Deep down, Dot's biggest obstacle to breaking rules is not so much because of a personal adherence to them as it is due to anxiety about the consequences of breaking them - be they social or otherwise. In practice, she is quite willing to break rules herself, she just tends to be a bit quiet about it. She doesn't so much look for rebelliousness in others as she does people who are nonjudgmental or open-minded.
Dain - Dain prefers to do things in a by-the-book manner, largely because routines and familiarity are comforting to her. She isn't a stickler when it comes to the people around her, though, and she is willing to ignore rules that she believes are unjust or will cause harm. She's easily drawn to certain kinds of rebelliousness, maybe because she feels she lacks the courage to stand out in certain ways and admires it when she recognizes it in others.
C - Caregiver - How do they give/receive care best? Do they care for everyone or just a small number of people? How do they react to someone in need?
Ava - The number of people Ava extends that sort of care towards is small enough to be counted on one hand. Personally, Ava is huge on physical touch as comfort -- both when given and receiving. They also love cooking and they're not above just dumping an entire meal on someone. A stranger in need is likely to be completely ignored, unless a whim strikes them otherwise. Ava isn't one who feels any sort of an obligation towards people they don't know.
Dot - Dot tends to feel awkward and uncertain about how to take care of other people, feeling that she isn't very good at taking care of herself as it stands, though that doesn't mean she won't try. It does mean she mostly limits the people who receive her care to close friends and her partner, though. She'll bake sweets for anyone fond of them, and offers words of kindness and affirmation when she's able to. If she finds herself in a position to help someone out of her circle of friends, she may do so if she feels the means, but she typically won't go out of her way for it. She isn't really one to play hero.
Dugar - It's somewhat AU dependent, but in what I'm going to call his main verse for now, caregiving is what he does best! He's a traveling doctor, and takes his vocation very seriously, spending many a waking hour learning about the newest techniques and advances in medicine that are available to him. He's worked hard to overcome his natural shyness and become someone who could be said to have a good bedside manner. Regardless of setting, he's very much a bleeding heart, and won't hesitate to offer help to anyone he deems in genuine need of it. This, of course, has the potential downside of leading to him overextending himself. He's a people person through and through, and will prioritize others over himself without hesitation.
M - Miracle Worker - Who or what do they consider to be a miracle? Do they believe in magic?
Ava - No points for guessing what counts as a miracle for Ava. They have been privy to Creeper's demonstrations of what the viral entity is capable of, the ways he has broken into the physical world are probably the biggest things they would count as 'miracles'. They know no shortage of gods or godlike beings, but due to their bias as a digital being and infected they tend to find others' powers less impressive -- those other deities didn't break into an entire world not compatible to them on a deep level, after all. Naturally, they aware of the existence of magic in either realm, so it would be a bit silly for them to not believe in it.
Dot - Dot isn't really one for ascribing things to miracles. Things may happen by strange coincidence, or be highly unlikely, but she still believes that there always, deep down, a scientific explanation for anything. She's a being of magic and uses it herself, so she's intimately familiar with it.
Jakkai - If Jakkai has any sort of a belief in miracles, it would be of the sort that miracles can only happen when people put in effort to make them happen. She'd never be one to sit around waiting for something to happen. If she cares enough to want something to change, she's going to do something about it. Her views on magic will naturally be dependent on setting, but she's not particularly superstitious by nature and is unlikely to view magic as a potential explanation for anything in a realistic setting. In fantasy settings, she doesn't have a strong affinity for magic, with the sole exception of the kind that can be used to enhance her body's capabilities (think D&D monk), but she views it as an enhancement that works alongside training and discipline, not a replacement.
one-sided platonic feelings always hit me so hard. like. i want you to love me like a son, but to you i’m not much more than a servant. i swore our oath of brotherhood out of real devotion, and you swore it out of convenience. i want to go to the ends of the earth and the depths of hell for you and follow you until the end of time, and in your mind that’s no more than what i owe you

Hi there! I go by Gryph unless you already know me as something else.
I'm in my 30s and have full-time work and other hobbies and responsibilities so I cannot promise speed or consistency, but I’ll do my best to respond when I’m able to. RP is a beloved and favorite hobby of mine and I'm usually excited to meet the blorbos from your head, but I have to work around limited energy levels and time so I'm not always as active as I'd like to be.
I am generally pretty easygoing in my approach and most of my guidelines exist because otherwise I have a tendency to get confused and overthink things. I'll go into all that under the cut.
This is a hub blog to which all my RP blogs are sideblogs because I honestly can't be bothered to maintain that many accounts anymore. You don't have to follow it, but I promise not to spam your dash with irrelevant posts if you do. It's going to be kept pretty strictly to RP-related or RP blog update posts. It's super rare for me to have more than 1-2 posts a day here.
All of my RP blogs are IC/blog style, meaning treated as if the character is running their own blog, and interactions are happening online.
Said blogs ostensibly run on a real time timeline, but in practice posts may be delayed by quite a bit depending on my schedule. I may ask to handwave this if needed.
I prefer to write paragraph RP over Discord; mutuals are free to ask for it. I'm not the quickest but I'm generally better at consistency than I used to be.
I am very crossover friendly and generally open to interact with anybody in theory, but in practice I can be selective because I only have the capacity to do so much.
Everything runs on a single verse.
I prefer to interact with people who are 20 and up for the sake of everyone's comfort.
I won't follow everyone back. It's not a personal thing, I just prefer to keep my dash easy to keep up with and mostly focused on people I interact with. That said, I am not mutuals only and anyone is welcome to send asks or interact on my posts (and it's the best way to get my attention).
If you post a lot of untagged OOC and especially OOC drama I probably won't follow back at all.
If you have an idea for an in-person interaction that you're excited about writing out or just chatting about, chances are I am too! Please come to my DMs and let me know what you're thinking.
IC != OOC. Bleed (transfer of emotions between mun/muse) happens, but if you think I hate you because my character was being mean to yours I promise that's not the case. Please talk to me if something bothers you, we're all here to have fun.
I usually try to tag images that have content that a lot of people might not want to see (using the format #bugs for example), but text posts may go untagged unless I'm going into a lot of detail (an explicit description of a gory scene will be tagged #gore but an off-handed mention of it happening probably won't).
For the most part, follows coming from this blog can be treated as IC and coming from whichever blog you might be interested in interacting with. If you don't have a preference or you aren't sure, feel free to ask.
Likes are generally the same and can be treated as IC from the blog(s) it makes sense for. Again, feel free to ask if there's confusion.
I’m a huge advocate of OOC communication, and I tend to have the most fun and feel the most comfortable when we have a space for OOC conversation alongside RP. You'll never bother me if you want to ask something about one of my characters, plot with me, or if you need clarification on something. My messages are always open for those purposes.
Forget about torturing your blorbos, putting them through the wringer. I'm putting my blorbo in perfectly ordinary, pleasant situations. Their tortured personality will cause them anguish anyway, making an absolutely mundane scene into the most dramatic, agony filled affair as though the world is ending and it's all their fault
