Not to be confused with volcanic salt/Himalayan black salt/kala namak. Black salt has strong protective properties, especially when combined with other protective/uncrossing herbs (herbs meant to undo a curse or hex). It’s used to absorb negative energy, create wards, and undo curses. It’s also good for banishing and binding. Here’s my recipe:
What you’ll need:
Cleansing items, such as smoke, bells, spray, whichever you personally use.
Sea Salt
Charcoal Disk (or charcoal powder)
Black Candle
Rosemary
Garlic Powder
Chili Powder
Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
Paprika
Black Pepper
Black Candle
Bowl
Mortar & Pestle
Black stones/crystals
Any additional protective items you may have. (Here I gathered dried red peppers, dried chili peppers, lemon, sage, and ashed from a Litha bonfire.) These items are for You to draw some extra energy from, and won’t be directly added to the salt.
Frankincense and/or Dragon’s Blood incense.
Instructions:
First, cleanse your space using whatever best works for you.
After cleansing, start your frankincense and/or dragon’s blood incense, this will be going for the duration of the spell.
Light your black candle.
Gather your supplies as seen in the picture.
As always, make sure your intention is strong, and continuously draw from it. Return to your intent no matter how often your mind wanders (which it will, that’s ok).
In a bowl, mix the salt with the herbs first.
Remember your other protective items are there for you to use. If needed, refocus on their protective energies and draw from that.
Use a mortar and pestle to crush the charcoal disk separately. This takes a lot of physical energy, and it is very messy. If you prefer to use charcoal powder, that’s ok, though charcoal disks will be cheaper. I like charcoal disks because I feel more energetically involved in/connected to the process.
Mixing counterclockwise, mix the very finely crushed charcoal into the salt. Mix. Use as many charcoal disks needed to get to the level of darkness you want.
Mind wandering? Remember your intent! Refocus!
When you’re done, transfer the black salt into a jar and set the crystals around it in a circle. Let it continue to build and charge this way, until you feel it is ready. If you’re not sure, it can also be until the candle or incense goes out.
Done! Sprinkle this around the parameter of your wards, such as along doorways and windows. It can also be used during unhexing/curse breaking spells, general protection spells, banishing, and binding.
This is NOT FOR CONSUMPTION.
Even if you used edible activated charcoal, know that 1. charcoal interacts with many medications by basically absorbing them and rendering them useless, including birth control, diabetes medications, cancer drugs, and more. and 2. I’m not sure this would taste great?
"Aphrodite loves terfs" do you really think a goddess of love formed from a literal penis and the mother of Hermaphroditus, an intersex god who was associated with androgyny and feminine men, fucks around with transphobia?
she is a literal trans icon and to deny that will get you smited by all the gods
What’s a more inconspicuous way to add witchcraft to the holiday season than by combining the well-known concept of Witch Balls with widely used ornaments? Add the following ingredients to either clear, glass ornaments (so they can be charged by compliments) or to solid ornaments (to be even more unnoticeable) for the desired effects.

emoji spell for the success of goals/endeavors. likes charge, reblogs cast
it’s best performed on a rainy day, but as always my spells and rituals are completely adaptable. if you don’t have something, find a substitute; if you don’t want to do something, don’t do it. simple! i hope this ritual helps you get back to your own kick-ass self.
clean your space. yes, i mean physically. having a clean, comfortable space to relax in is essential for your mental health. it’s also a great way to get any negative energy out of your body. pour all that emotion into your cleaning, and create a super-awesome space that makes you feel all warm and happy inside.
add something new. whether this is a storebought decoration you’ve been waiting to put up, or an idea for a switch around of furniture, change something up in your space. there’s nothing like the refreshing feeling of your space looking brand new, and you’ll have something to be proud of as well!
cleanse your tools, your bed, your walls… do your usual space-cleansing ritual that involves deep cleansing of everything you use on a day-to-day basis. getting rid of any built up energy will make the space you spend your time in feel so much fresher, i promise you.
find a comfy space, light your favourite cleansing incense (mine is lemon) sit back and relax, and move on to the self-cleansing ritual!
this is best performed on a rainy day, but if you can’t do that, try to visualise rain all around you. rainy mood music can help with this!
sit in a calm, comfy space where you can relax, and start to clear your mind. if you have a favourite go to method for meditation, use that. if not, i like to imagine my mind literally clearing, physically pushing all thoughts out of it.
concentrate on the sound of the rain. let the noise overtake your thoughts, and visualise the rain physically washing away any negative energy that’s built up over time.
get cathartic. cleansing can be as gentle or as brutal as you want. got any pent up emotions? let them out now, if you’re comfortable with it. just feel whatever you need to feel, and let it go. imagine the negativity just falling away from you with the rain.
as negative energy is leaving your body, visualise your personal energy drawing positivity from the earth beneath you. feel that strength wash over your body, and envisage your whole body being filled with happiness and gentle joy.
once you’re done meditating and cleansing, take a moment to just sit and exist. take as much time as you need to chill out and wake up.
anything after this should be done as self care, for you and you alone. got a favourite tv show? watch an episode. finally got enough money for something you’ve been eyeing for a while? buy that, and treat yourself. honestly, after all this you deserve a bit of self love!
so loves, that’s what i do when i need a serious cleanse and self-love session. i hope it helps you if you use it!
if you want to support me, and keep me out of financial despair, please consider buying a tarot reading here! anything you buy will help me pay rent for me and my family, so we can avoid homelessness. thankyou so much~
Wash an egg in cold water and, with a pencil, write the name of the person afflicted with bad dreams.
Put the egg in a dish, then place it on a nightstand close to the sleeping place of the person.
If the egg cracks or breaks, flush it down the toilet. Repeat the spell until the egg stays intact for 7 days. Flush the remaining egg.
Before going to sleep, hold a citrine tightly in your dominant hand and chant:
Stone of joyful yellow light
I give my dreams to you tonight
Grab the bad ones, the rest leave free
So that I may dream peacefully
Place the stone under your pillow.
To eradicate nightmares, empower three mullein leaves with the following chant, then place them under your mattress.
Herb of mullein, now absorb
Unpleasant dreams before they form
Bring to me a restful sleep
As I will, so mote it be

🔥🔥Firey Wall of Protection Oil🔥🔥 . . This is a little how to I’m sharing with you!! I made this pretty puppy on my own, and let me tell you this is POTENT!! I made it myself and can contest this shits awesome. Here’s how to make it! You’ll need: - jar - black salt - whole chilie peppers - cayenne powder - paprika - Palo Santo stick - cloves - cinnamon sticks - cinnamon powder - ginger powder - red pepper seeds - sea salt/pink Himalayan sea salt - bay leaves - oil (be it olive, cooking, almond, what have you) - black candle - sandlewood incense . Light your incense, make sure you’re grounded, and your mind is focused for the task at hand. Please know this will take up a lot of your energy. Make your base with black salt and all powdered ingredients. It’s important that this have a strong foundation with hella protection properties so nothing can find a way through the barrier. Follow your gut and add each ingredient according to your intuition. As you add each item, really focus on this oils intent. You want it strong, powerful, Firey, and most importantly impenetrable. You want to make sure all your loopholes are tied, that there’s no room for error. Once everything is added, go ahead and pour your oil in, saying an incantation of your choice. As you do, say out loud exactly what you want this oil to do. Charge it, give it a job, leaving out no detail. Tell it what it protects you and your family from. Hold it, charge it, kiss it–until it feels right. Afterwards, set the jar in front of the black candle and light it, letting the spell charge and burn. DO NOT let the candle burn out, and DO NOT burn it out early. Let it go down and out all on it’s own. Now here’s where your gut comes in. When the spell is over, I sat my bottle on my windowsill and let it charge in the sunlight for 30 consecutive days. You can write a sigil underneath it to add an additional charge, but the suns energy gives it the burn you want. You don’t have to do it for 30 days, but for me and this oil, it’s not as effective if it’s charged in the sun for less. Once the 30 days are up, use it at your own will. Pour it in a small vial and wear it as a necklace (that’s what I did.) Anoint your doorways, windows, threshold, doorstep, friends, your car, yourself, anything. It’s potent and powerful!!
A magickal circle is an energetic construct that you build or envision around yourself before working magick, doing a ritual, some like to cast a circle before meditating or reading tarots. For a solitary practitioner the circle is typically 5-6 ft in diameter, but the size expands based on the size of the group. It can be defined physically, energetically, or both.
Circles provide protection and serves as a container for your personal energy as well as the energy you conjure.
Please remember that this is just what i personally like to do when casting a circle, but that there are many methods.
Preparation for circle casting
1. Determine how much space you will need.
2. Cleanse your area. Vacuum, sweep, throw away any trash in the area.
3.Make sure you have everything you need for your ritual! Theres nothing more frustrating than having your circle casted and realizing you’ve forgotten an herb or any supplies you need for the work you’re about to do.
4. Purify your area. Light purifying incense, sage, sprinkle salt and holy 💧. Most importantly, Visualize the negative energy dispersing. If you don’t focus & visualize, your physical actions will have little effect. Visualization is hands down one of the most important things in any and all magickal workings!
5. Now its time to cast your circle!
Visualize protective energy coming from within you and direct it towards your casting arm. Focus it through a casting tool (Athame, wand, or ✋) and visualize a beam of energy coming from it and settling on the ground. Trace your circle with this energy, 3 times in a clockwise direction. Once for protection, once for focus, and once for power.
Call the 4 quarters
Face North and say “I call to the North, to the element of Earth. Grant me (us if not practicing alone) your endurance, your strength.” Sprinkle salt onto your altar or crumble soil into a bowl on your altar.
Face East and say “I call to the East, to the element of Air. Grant me your creativity and your intuition.” Light incense, wave a fan,or drop feathers onto your altar.
Face south and say “I call to the South, to the element of Fire. Grant me your passion and your energy.” Light candles.
Face west and say “I call to the West, to the element of Water. Grant me your empathy and your emotion.” Pour blessed/storm/moon/natural water into a bowl or into your chalice.
Now would be the time to call on any deities you’d wish to work with. You can call any Goddess or Angel by personalizing this to them. I typically do not personally work with deities, but if you were to want to, Call to them similar to how the Elements are called. Ex. “I call to Gaia, Mother Goddess, Spirit of Earth.” and then place an offering symbolizing them, so for Gaia you might place grain on your altar as an offering.
If not solitary, now would be the time to invite others to the circle. The group leader typically invites others in by a series of phrases, although i know every coven has their own method fine tuned for themselves, This is just the method i’ve seen used and am familiar with. Group leader:”Children of the Goddess, I now invite you to enter our circle.” Each member will be asked “How do you enter this circle?” The response should be “In perfect love and perfect trust.”
Now its time to raise energy. This is the most important part of this process. It is so important because when you open your circle at the end of spellwork, You release all of your energy you have filled with intent out into the universe to go manifest whatever it may be you have called to. You want as much energy as possible to be released carrying your intent!
Here are a few ways! There is no wrong way to do this part, and there are SO MANY ways. You can fine tune this all to you. Remember that this is your ritual, and you want your energy fully behind everything you are doing. This is all customizable, most of all the energy raising.
-Witches Rune Chant
“Darksome night and shining Moon,
East, then South, then West, then North,
Hearken to the witches’ rune;
Here i come to call thee forth.
Earth and Water, Air and Fire.
Wand and pentacle and sword,
Work ye unto my desire,
Hearken ye into my word.
Cords and censer, scourge and knife,
Power of the witches blade waken all ye unto life,
Come ye as the charm is made.
Queen of Heaven, Queen of Hell, Lend your power unto my spell,
and work my will by magic rite.
By all the power of Land and Sea, By all the might of Moon and Sun,
As I do will, So mote it be;
Chant the spell, and be it done.
Eko, Eko Azarak
Eko, Eko Zamilak
Eko, Eko Karnayna
Eko, Eko Aradia”
-Meditating to raise energy. Visualize energy building and building by visualizing warm, yellow light fill your body until its expanding out of your body and filling the dome above your circle. visualize it filling with energy until you are content.
-Music or Drumming, Dancing and Chanting.
Once you reach your desired energy level, it is time to get into whatever spellwork or ritual you desire to preform!
After your spellwork, its time for Cakes and Ale. I like to make little spirit cakes and have some red wine after a ritual. Expelling all of that energy from your body is draining, and you should take your time to enjoy this part of the ritual. Set a cake and some wine aside for the entities who have lent you their energy as thanks. Cakes can be anything, from saltine crackers to cupcakes. Ale can be water. Anything that works for you is ok. For my cakes, i bake a shortbread and mix whatever ingredients i want into the dough. This way, I can craft them with the intent for whatever ritual i may be doing.
ONCE YOU FINISH YOUR WORK SAY GOODBYE TO THE ELEMENTS AND THANK THEM FOR THE POWER THEY BROUGHT. ALWAYS SAY GOODBYE AND THANK ANY DEITIES CALLED ON.
HERE IS HOW I DO IT:
-Farewell to Goddess. ex. “I thank you, Gaia, for gracing me with your glory. Farewell and Merry met.”
-Farewell to Quarters (Counterclockwise).
“My thanks to the element of Water, Your compassion was a gift. Farewell & Blessed be.” Now cover your dish of water or pour it out, Physically say goodbye as well.
“My thanks to the element of Fire, Your fierceness was a gift. Farewell & Blessed be.” Douse your candle.
“My thanks to the element of Air, Your wisdom was a gift. Farewell & Blessed be.” Douse incense/flip fan/turn over feather.
“My thanks to the element of Earth, Your protection was a gift. Farewell & Blessed be.” Cover earth with a cloth, or return it to ground.
I like to walk the circle the opposite way of its casting three times, and voila!
Keep in mind that this is just my method! There are many methods and this is just one of them.
I hope this is helpful to you!
-Love and light, @lapiscat

~ What is Smoke Cleansing?
Smoke Cleansing is the action of burning herbs to rid of negative energy or bring in good energy to a home, person, or object.
~ Why do You Smoke Cleanse?
The most common reason people smoke cleanse is to banish negative energy and evil spirits. You can also smoke cleanse to bring in good energy and enhance psychic abilities.
~ Tools and Why They Are Used
Abalone Shell: This shell is believed to be an element of water, which balances the other elements of fire, air, and earth, which is why it is usually used to collect the ash of the smudge stick or to just simply hold it.
Feather: Traditionally used because birds represents the breath of life as well as a way of connecting with Mother Earth and the Heavens. Turkey feathers are the most commonly used.
White Sage: Traditionally used to banish negative energy.
Sweet Grass: Traditionally used to bring in good energy and to call to the ancestors.
Yerba Santa: This herb is usually burned to enhance psychic abilities.
Palo Santo: Can be burned to banish negative energy, and also instills a feeling of love.
Lavender: Traditionally used to invite spirits.
Cedar: Burned to promote a calm and comforting environment, and to purify and protect.
Juniper: Burned to cleanse an area, promote clarity, increase focus, and center someone.
Pine: Burned to cleanse and renew, and promotes strength.
~ How To Smoke Cleanse Yourself and Others
Have an invocation and all tools ready to go! Invocations vary depending on what smudge stick you are using. Personally, I like to use White Sage for when I’m smoke cleansing myself and others, but you can use any smudge stick you’d like.
Stand with the burning smudge stick you’d wish to use and an Abalone shell or fireproof bowl layered with sand sitting on a surface arms-length from you. Move the smudge stick in a counter clockwise motion around you to banish negative energy. Start at the head, the neck, arms, torso, and so forth. Say the invocation you’d wish to use during this time. Example for banishing negative energy:
“Into this smoke, I release all energies that do not serve me, all negativity that surrounds me, and all fears that limit me. So mote it be.”
If you are Smoke cleansing someone else, move the smudge stick in a counter clockwise motion around them, and use “you” instead of “me” and etc. in the invocation.
~ How To Smoke Cleanse Your Home
First things firsts, crack open at least one window in your home so the energy has a way of escaping or entering (depending on if you’re banishing energy or bringing in energy). Have all doors to rooms you’d wish to smoke cleanse open and ready to enter, including closets, garages, basements, and attics. You can also use invocations (optional, see tips). Light the smudge stick and have an Abalone shell or bowl with sand layering the bottom ready to hold the stick and ash. If you wish to use a feather, get that at this time as well. Start at your front door. Walk slowly, really let the smoke marinate in the areas you are focusing on. Outline doors, windows, and entrances with the smoke.
Banishing Negative Energy
Traditionally, White Sage is used for this. If you wish to rid of negative energy, walk counter-clockwise from your front door. This motion symbolizes banishment. Make sure to smoke cleanse the corners of your home, this is a common place negative energy will collect and/or linger.
Bringing in Good Energy
Traditionally, Sweet Grass is used for this. If you wish to bring in good energy, walk clockwise. This motion symbolizes such.
Using a Feather
Traditionally, people use a real turkey feather. When using a feather, make sure to wave the smoke in the direction that you wish to banish energy or bring it in. You don’t need to worry about clockwise or counter clockwise motions if using this method.
Not Using a Feather
If you are ridding of negative energy, wave the smudge stick in a counter-clockwise motion. This motion symbolizes banishment. If you are bringing in good energy, wave it in a clockwise motion, this motion symbolizes such.
~ How to Smoke Cleanse Objects
Usually, people like to smoke cleanse objects they will have on their altar, or any divination or sacred tools like athames, wands, crystals, crystal balls, etc. You can really smoke cleanse anything you’d like to! Just remember to cleanse the object first. Have an invocation ready to go (optional, see tips). Personally, I only banish negative energy from objects. I don’t bring in good energy, mainly because I believe the object is now at it’s balanced and true form after being rid of bad energy. You can definitely bring in good energy into objects if you prefer!
For smaller, more handheld objects, pass the object through the smoke several times slowly. For bigger objects, move the smudge stick around the object several times slowly. While doing this, if you wish to use an invocation, you can. You can say it out loud or internally.
Do NOT leave burning smudge sticks unattended. If you don’t have an Abalone shell to hold the smudge stick or the ash, use a fireproof bowl with some sand layering the bottom.
When smoke cleansing your home, try not to take steps backwards. Some believe that if you do so, you’ll reverse the effects.
Collect your ash! It can be used for spells for protection.
Have an invocation (a saying, or chant) ready to go while smoke cleansing your home and objects. You can make your own or use others you find. You can say these internally or out loud. I personally made my own short and simple invocations, I’ll use them for example:
Banishment:
“Negative energy, I banish thee. You mustn’t stay, you must leave.”
Bringing in Energy:
“Positive energy, I invite thee. You’re welcomed in my home, belongings, and in me.”
Different invocations will be used when burning different smudge sticks.
*If there is anything we missed, you’d like to add, or something is wrong, just let us know!*
