What’s your favorite book series? Also, what’s your favorite fanfic of something you like?

favorite book series at the moment? probably leviathan - it’s a really cool trilogy and id recommend it a million times over. i also love keeper of the lost cities, children of blood and bone, and the entire grishaverse.

favorite fanfic is so so so hard but im gonna go with one of my all time favorites - bending but never breaking by @/writing-hat. its a fantastic ninjago fic and it completely cemented me as a 1. extreme jay lover, 2. extreme skybound lover and 3. eternal member of the fandom. before you go looking for it though, it is REALLY REALLY dark. read all the tws on hat’s intro page and on the fic itself before starting to make sure you know just how dark it gets. please stay safe!

I have been sitting on this ask for about a month so here! I’m back oh boy I have a lot to catch up on here expect a lotta activity.

so a while ago i took a fic commission from the lovely @nonsense-at-2am. the prompt was:

“jay uses video games to cope with the events of skybound but it eventually just becomes unhealthy and eventually the other ninja help him get out of this”

so… confession time. i ORIGINALLY planned to write a little one shot about this, but i started getting ideas and thinking more about the prompt. i had a lot of ideas that i loved, but there was NO WAY i was gonna be able to fit it all in just a one shot. therefore…

tada! this is gonna be a multi-chapter fic - my first one ever :) i’m nearly done with the first chapter, and yeesh. just a heads up, this is my first time writing so much - when i sat down to start writing this, i had no idea it was gonna be more than 2.5k words 😬😬😬 as such, i’m not sure if it’s good or not. luckily i have an excellent beta reader, so i trust that when i release it it will be passable lol.

i should probably be able to post it by the end of the weekend, so be prepared! im quite proud of it, and i hope you’ll like it.

hey all!

just taking a quick break from writing to have dinner, and I wanted you guys to know that i'm like 3/8 done with chapter 2 of Press B. let me give you a progress report:

I have all of the story beats planned out know everything that will happen.

I have written 1 1/2 out of 4 of the scenes i've separated this chapter into (for writing purposes - it's easier for me to work when I split it up into big chunks and work on one at a time lol)

by the end of the day I plan to be 6/8 done - finish the scene that's in progress, and start writing the last two.

I'm really tired and hungry but boy have the creative juices been flowing. Nothing gets me writing like 1. worrying about keeping you guys waiting 2. rewarding myself with dinner and 3. needing to get this chapter out of the way to work on ishimondo week 2k24.

Anyway, Happy Pride Month, stay safe, happy and hydrated at all times! I hope you're looking forward to chapter 2.
