Hey everyone!
So, Ishimondo week is nearly upon us, and I've been working hard on planning my fics + finishing the first one (which took WAY longer than I expected, and also might have ended up being 9k? Oops). However, I have a question for all of you lovely people.
Accents in writing. I know that they get pretty widely mixed reviews - from what I can tell most people either love them or hate them. Now, I myself usually don't mind them. A lot of times, it helps me to better picture the characters and their way of speaking. However, I was talking to a few of my friends about it, and they all HATE it when a fic author writes in the accents. See, this is a little problem for me because while writing Mondo's dialog, I usually write out his accent. Despite this, I don't want to keep that in my fics if the majority of people hate it. Therefore, I thought I'd put up a poll to see people's opinions on this matter.
By the way, don't worry about whether or not it will take a lot of time and effort to change the dialogue, because it really won't be that difficult! It'll probably only take me around 5-10 minutes to do so if that's the poll's decision.
(P.S., here's an excerpt from my fic which shows an example of writing out an accent - or at least, how I do it: "I’d been meanin’ ta drop that shit for a while when he offered to help me with it last year, an’ the rest is history.")
So, without further ado,
Thank you all so much, have a lovely day, and see you guys for Ishimondo week!
-Lee :)
Oooh, would you look at that, ANOTHER Ishimondo story??? What are the odds??
Ha. But here's day three's fic! It's a silly one today, very light and fluffy with just a hint of spice. ;-) It's to make up for yesterday's story... ha. It... doesn't quite fit the prompt "role swap" in the traditional sense, but this is where my mind went when I first saw the prompt, and I'm glad it did, ha. I really like this story and think it's super cute.
It also works for tomorrow's prompt (competition), so I decided to write a part two for that prompt. However, like I say in the notes of this fic, I don't know if I'll be posting tomorrow. I actually got an idea for Day 5, prompt "gift," and I've been busy writing that whenever I wasn't editing this. I took a break from writing to post this, but I want to go back to writing that fic when I have time, before I lose inspiration. But don't worry! I will eventually write part two to this one. Just... it may take a bit, depending on my energy and inspiration level, oof.
Also, fun fact: Because of how long the summary is, and the fact it's italicized, I literally cannot edit the fic without AO3 telling me that the "summary is too long" despite the fact that it let me post it in the first place. So... that's fun. 😅😅 Here's hoping I don't have to edit it... otherwise, bye bye italics I guess... Oof.
You can find the story here
“Am I… am I having a stroke…? I’m having a stroke, aren’t I?” Leon asks, eyes wide as he looks at the rest of their classmates at their usual table, who are looking as confused and freaked out as he is. Mondo lets his eyes wander the room then, feeling both giddy and nervous when he sees that they’re currently the center of attention of the whole room. … “I wouldn’t think so, Kuwata-san. It seems that the esteemed Ishimaru-san and Owada-san have simply decided to merge their beings together to create the ultimate symbol of hope. How wonderful,” the weirdo Nagito suddenly chimes in, cheery voice as grating as always. Mondo turns his glare to the weirdo, but doesn’t say anything, like he usually would. Sadly, while Mondo usually never hesitates to curse the fucker out whenever he’s being his creepy, weirdo self, Taka tends to ignore him, unless he’s breaking the rules. Which he usually isn’t, unfortunately. Being weird isn’t against the rules, Taka always claims. But then— “Fuck off, Nagito,” Taka suddenly states boldly, a scowl on his face that is such a good imitation of Mondo’s usual scowl that he honestly can’t look away even if he wanted to.
As Mondo leans against the old stone wall of the Ishimaru family’s balcony, he wonders why the fuck he ever let Taka drag him into this.
A family dinner was a stupid idea; Mondo had said so himself when his boyfriend first brought up the idea. Sure, they had already had ‘family dinners’ before, but those were entirely different. Those had been a relaxing night at the Oowada brother’s apartment, with takeout and video games. Those were casual meetups, laughter and smiles almost eternally present. Most importantly, those were with Daiya and not Taka’s cop dad who had made it his personal mission to take down the Crazy Diamonds.

Hi everyone!
This is my first Ishiondo Week 2024 fic! I unfortunately won't be able to do a prompt for every day (I've been busy) but hopefully almost 10k words makes up for it? In the meantime, as I rush to get at least one or two more fics done, I hope you enjoy this story!
(Shout out to my beta readers!
@lovely-love-angel on Tumblr - thanks so much for helping me with this despite not being in the fandom! It's always a pleasure to work with you <3
my older brother - thanks for providing your honest feedback, and for not telling our parents that I spend most of my free time writing fanfiction and publishing it online. You're a king even if you're a massive nerd)

Rank the ninja turtles
i love and cherish all of them equally (but my favorite is definitely donatello)
the funniest thing thats happened to me last year was when i was super stressed from a lot of stuff that was happening and just started sobbing, and my friend tried to comfort me by. by showing me a picture of jay walker. i seriously used to talk so much about him that my friend’s first reaction to seeing me sad was to show me a screenshot of him. and the worst part of the whole thing is that it fucking worked and i stopped crying. what is the power that this little lego man holds over me and how do i release myself from it
i mostly use google docs because i already have it on all my devices and i dont have anything else, but ill also use my notes app when im in public and am struck with inspiration all of a sudden.
plz reblog for science
