More Mordalys fluff! This time a commission by the legendary @cutekoala1001! 

First of all I cannot believe how well she draws Sing chimpanzees; Mortimer looks like he comes right out of that universe. I have drawn the chimpanzees like 50 times and none of my attempts come even close to this 🤯 Also primate profiles are so difficult to draw, and both characters look great here. Mortimer’s foot is holding on to Odalys’ ankle, and her tail is wrapped around his leg 🥹🥹🥹🥹 This is not an easy thing to draw, but it looks so natural here. 

She also made a shot of them in different lighting, with the morning sun coming in through the blinds:

My husband has material from his Warhammer figures , so I'm going to steal his paints and ask him for help to make it look amazing. I can't wait to see it finished! 😭✨

She’s still a pretty new OC, so these details might change later, but here are the ideas I have for her now.

Ok here goes: 

Name: Eloïse Eitzen

Gender: Cisgender female 

Age: 25

Sexuality: Demisexual 

Likes: Latin dance, Parkour and Ninja Warrior, racing video games, Zumba, Kickboxing aerobics, fashion 

Dislikes: Her cousin Klaus, boring jobs and activities 

Backstory: 

Eloïse is a female proboscis monkey, a younger cousin of Klaus Kickenklober. She and Klaus have a precarious relationship, as he was constantly tattling on her when she was a child. She was born to strict, stuffy, overprotective upper class parents, and even though she is an adult now, they still treat her like a child. Outwardly, she looks innocent and sophisticated due to her upbringing, but she has a rebellious, wild streak to her. Her parents sent her to the best schools, and she is extremely intelligent and resourceful. 

Her parents are always trying to “civilize” her by enrolling her in what she thinks are boring activities, like waltz and classical piano. They have very particular ideas about how girl monkeys should behave. As irritated as she is by her parents’ actions and viewpoints, she loves them and doesn’t want to disappoint them. So she lives a secret life unknown to them. They think she’s taking a waltz class, but she’s actually in Tango; they think she’s tutoring children in French in the evenings, but she’s actually drag racing; they think she teaches Yoga, but she actually volunteers as a Parkour coach. 

At some point her parents caught on to this and basically forced her to enroll in one of Klaus Kickenklober’s classical dance classes. It was his class specifically because he could vouch for if she showed up or not. It was here that she met Arlen, the name I gave the baboon dancer from Sing 2:

She was bored in Klaus’ class and hated his teaching style, but she stayed because she had a crush on Arlen. She and Arlen are now dating. Arlen is kind and good-natured, but a little on the clueless side, and he often accidentally gives Eloïse’s ruses away to her parents.

Eloïse, her parents, and Arlen are eating out at a posh restaurant. They all order alcoholic drinks, and since Eloïse looks young, the waiter asks to see her ID

Eloïse, going through her wallet: Oh no! I don’t have my driver’s license! I took it out to take a picture of it for a job application. It must still be on the table.

Arlen: Why don’t you just show them your pilot’s license?

Eloïse, elbowing him hard in the ribs and uttering under her breath: Arlen!!!! 😡

Eloïse’s dad: Pilot’s license??!

Kinda off topic, but this is getting me thinking on how different sized animal's seats are priced. Because they only grabbed one ticket I think, so I think they're literally sharing a seat [WHICH IS CUTE]. But does this mean that bigger animals need to buy more than one ticket? Or are all the seats just ridiculously big? Or am I crazy?

Both GMO and Alice in Wonderland were really short plays from what we see, but I actually do think that this isn't how it actually goes in canon. When they're on the bus in Sing 2, the script looks pretty thick for one. And two- why would anyone pay for tickets for 4 minutes of show?

Like it just makes sense, you gotta understand my reasoning.

They couldn't put the whole 2 hours of play in the actual films, but I like to believe that's actually how it goes

I wonder how often Meena finds herself in cars. Because like there's size, but also we know she just takes the bus everywhere. I don't think her family has a car, they all feel like they utilize public transit instead

Cars that are modified for bigger and smaller animals are probably more expensive and not mass-manufactured either

Not just height but weight limit is also something that needs to be kept in mind. Elephants are like a few thousand pounds.

I think it's just easier to have modified public transit rather than modified individual cars for that kind of load. I bet public transit has way more funding in the Sing universe because of this need too. Because there's also Rhinos, and Hippos, and Giraffes-

I'm giving it some thought right now and how with a few tweaks this could be cool. Like I'd definitely make it so there were different phases, like the MLP AUs. And I'd keep the hivemind thing definitely, because I think that adds an extra terrifying aspect to it

ALSO WHY-

I have a complaint.

Why were they dancing.

For a full minute. With nothing.

No singing. Just instrumental. It dragged on for so insanely long. Like that's my one complaint about this short, is that the pacing is just absolute dogshit after they all get possessed. You can give me a Thriller reprise without making it look super awkward and boring. Why couldn't this have been a cool chase scene instead? Like actually keep up that tension you established?? Because like Crawly and Buster are just STANDING there now, and it's just like-

And then the actual chase is over so fast

I hate the "it was all a dream!" trope but I can't really be mad

I saw it coming from a mile away, and I'm honestly glad because it means that this isn't canon and we don't have to deal with random zombie shenanigans in the actual lore

Or maybe not because Crawly was literally possessed at the end but whatever. Not canon.

My final thoughts are that this was really solid! I feel well fed and very happy to get some new content of the sillies. I will most likely be drawing lots of Thriller stuff because WOW were some of those shots pretty. Overall, critically? C+ short [mostly due to that minute of almost nothing happening]. But my enjoyment level puts the grade at a B+ for me so [B is for Biased].
