in the mirror scene, why is Pen holding her own breasts? that's Colin's job! he's a boob man like...?? the whole scene's choreography was so off
this planet looks so cool
Pen: Love me, hold me, kiss me, look at me!
Colin: just stands there like a dumbass and makes up a stupid excuse about not knowing why he will reject her pleas
this is NOT Colin Bridgerton - this is a usurper that has taken control of his on-screen body and exists to fuck things up #notmycolin
Baby Stormcloud
Nicola DELIVERED. Signed, Sealed, DELIVERED, she IS Penelope. Did I feel like LN ultimately delivered? No, but he did a... serviceable performance. I do commend him for his effort, I suppose.
the fact that Colin is just itching to be away from her one day, and then just lets Pen leave without him (going to the same location) the next day...this show! Colin is so stupid.
Not even the Duke allowed his wife to leave alone. He too, like Colin, had every right to be angry with his wife, but that didn't stop from him from maintaining honor, dignity of their marriage, wanting to be with her and protect her. A good strong man!
I just need to acknowledge how terrible it is how much Colin abandons her and leaves his wife all alone at times on conflict/when things are hard. This isn't how you handle conflict healthily. It makes Colin look so weak, so blah, so boring, so bland, so LIMP. It's so not Colin! And we're supposed to believe he's in love her -sigh- why did the writers do something like this??
The reason Book Polin is superior is that the reason Colin doesn't like Penelope in the book is because HE BARELY KNOWS HER. They are acquaintances at best. Penelope was friends with Eloise, and Colin was Eloise's brother. In Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, the book starts with Colin finally spending some one-on-one time with Penelope, learning about her, who she is, and then finds himself deeply in love with her. He unlocked a whole new level in someone he barely knew. That's why that love story is so beautiful in terms of unrequited-to-requited love. Also, the way book Colin is just so HORRENDOUSLY down bad...I just don't have faith that LN can capture that.
In Show Polin, Colin knows her very well, they've spent a lot of quality time together. To the point he even tries to set her up with someone else! He is so unromantically interested that he is okay with her being with someone else. Ugh. Gross. It's just not the same, and not as good. I hope to be pleasantly surprised this season but Book Polin is just superior in every way.
As someone who completely disagrees with you, I would really appreciate it if you did tag #anti-polin and / or #anti-colin. You have a complete right to your opinion and deserve the space to have them. But I feel like for me, and probably quite a few others, when I am going through the tag for #polin or #colinbridgerton I do not expect to see hate since it's a couple tag and character tag. I also thank you so much for asking. 😊
